The NDP can make more radical proposals because they know no matter what they won't form a government - if that were more possible their policies would move more to the centre of the political spectrum.

I am usually an NDP voter, but I can admit that there is plenty about the party that I vehemently dislike. For starters, I don't like Layton. I disagree with their Afghanistan policy, and I despair their gradual move to become a catch-all electoralist party. I am not so consumed by my ideology that I can't think clearly, unlike you. Someone who thinks their party is entirely free of any honest criticism should not accuse others of being ignorant.

The problem is I think too many people in this country don't pay close enough attention to politics until an election comes around then they make comments online that are completley uninformed or because they have no real knowlegde they simply resort to spewing utter nonsense and lies. Actually Liberal governments fought Tommy Douglas as hard as they could on medicare. Health care came in Sasatchewan, and became a smart move in Ottawa only during the minority governments of the early '60's.
