Scuttle off to bed early, radio under the covers, listening with growing excitement to the voices of Jones, Edelstone, Armfield et al....league matches, Cup replays, Europe, England matches-and yes, Liverpool featured in some, but hardly "best remembered" them alone. Good times.
Can never forget this, 8.02pm on a tuesday night, as a youngster would always tune in to Radio 2 and never forget Peter Jones would start with something like 'on this big European night, and there's already been a goal at the Hawthorns etc...' , as all the games had already started at 7.45! Happy memories.
