Wow!!! Metheny his trademark is his sound, the combination of acustic and electric instruments set him apart from other musicians. I remember seen him in a concert in Strasburg France with The Pat Metheny Group, 3 hours of magnificent jazz and a transportation to other world. This guy is unique a truly great musician with all the guys that perform with him. Regards from Mexico!!!
How wonderful musical theme is the contemporary jazz led a superlative expression. This topic touches me very much, and is so distinguished, it makes me feel different, it's part of my life, my emotions, my nights of bohemia, solitary or sometimes drinks accompanied by a woman, or just in the carport of my house cleaning my car, listening to this music and taking a good rum Bacardi, well what else I can ask.
Thanks for posting....When i first got this album on vinyl, i used to skip this track (shame on me). there was something grating about it; However, after resisting and listening more and more its now become one of my favorite Metheny tracks ; the guitar synth solo is SO awesome...let it rip!
A find myself walking around whistling the little melody that runs from :39 to 1:00. I don't exactly when it became imprinted in me subconscious, but it did lol. One PMG song I listen to constantly.
this is classic... and it's one of those songs that captivate you and take hold and never let you go... I've been in love with it for years... and I fall in love with it over and over again...
♥ this song I saw him concert with Lyle Mays back in Detroit and all I can say was that I was amazed and how great Pat and Lyle are the chemistry of these two is great. Thanks for posting.
One of the all time great solos by Pat - which are all great to start with! This is so painfully emotional, for me, the nearest a jazz solo comes to the depths of classical music.
And there could be a better performance to this music than this studio original? :-) How vividly it reminds me an introspective and nostalgic rainy afternoon! One of my favorites!
Naughty - the menu pic makes it look like a live vid, which would be rare because they didn't play this one much. Instead it's the studio version. I can get that at home!
I wish they record something like that again!! First Circle!!! Last ECM PMG album!

When I was a D.J. in Honolulu, Hawaii for KHHH 98.5 (The Wave) in 1989, I would play this in my opening watch! Hours from 8PM-6AM
