It's the percussion. This version's cymbals are being played slightly different. Also the album version is more percussion focused and it doesn't clang as much. Although it's a cleaner instrumental to me, I prefer the vocal of this one.

I listen to this version 10 times a day...literally. I wish they could of mixed this vocal with the finished instrumental. She was probably exasperate when she re-recorded it it couldn't capture that feeling at the time.
