This man was an absolute legend, the greatest of the greatest, sadly now he is no longer with us, but his legacy will live on forever, R.I.P Evel, a true legend.
back in the 70s me and my friends would jump ramps on our bikes trying to be like evel knievel. i had one of them hand crank evel motorcycle daredevil toys,
Did you know prior to his death Evel Knievel requested that his casket be launched across the Missouri River before it was put into the ground as a final hurrah but his request was denied by the Montana government.
evel knievel was my hero, I'm 52 use to jump trash cans on a bicyle, than a 100cc motorcycle.I rode down the street standing up on the seat hand s held out.Trying to be him.
disrespectful comments will be removed, i applaud, disrespectful comments should be removed from all videos, youtube should be kept a classy place for people to unite over music and videos, let the haters go some where else!!!! Especially when it comes to someones death, let them rest in peace.
It was so cool that we got to see Evel Knievel do his jumps on live T.V. back in the day. But it was sad to see him land the wrong way and get hirt badly but jumping his bikes and rockit but it was something he like to do. And that what made him a great American he had freedom.
SUPERMAN., SPIDERMAN., BATMAN... FIGMENTS OF ONES IMAGINATION., FAKE., FAIL... EVIL KNIEVEL... THE REAL DEAL., HUMAN., STUNT-MAN AND WILD-ASS EXTRAORDINAIRE.. MY SUPER-HERO FOR ALL TIME...
I used to have an Evel Knievel figure and motorcycle stunt cycle that you wind up then released it and it would do stunts then for my 8th birthday my dad bought me an Evel Knievel bmx bike! It was the coolest! He was a big part of my childhood and I didn't even know he died until just now! R.I.P Evel!
i cried wen i was i watchin the vidoe where he said he was retitrnig i just saw it ten minutes and he was my dads favorite hero but my favorite hero is travis pastrana but eveil knevial is awesome i hope he is still riding in heaven :D
I was a fan then when I was young with his great outfit and motorcycle stunts. It was really good to hear that he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ before he passed away. In heaven he will have a new body that is forever with God. See you there brother. My son Carlos Lenard is also waiting for me there.
I love that everyone has posted their own personal stories about their unique Evel experiences! I never had the chance to meet Evel himself, but I make it a point to visit his grave as often as possible, & say a few words to him, or maybe pound a shot of Wild Turkey or a can of Olympia in his honor. I'm 28 years old & I wish I had 1/2 the courage & strength that he had! I know that people thought he was an asshole, but he just told it like it was, which you can't find nowadays... LONG LIVE EVEL!
Thanks for the upload. I saw him jump in Seattle when I was young and will never forget the event. My son and I also met him a couple years before he passed. Interesting thing, I could tell he didn't care much for us older guys but he laughed when I asked him how his golf game was. But, he really was kind to my young son. You could actually see that he genuinely cared about kids, it was a great memory to take with us. RIP
I remember growing up in the 80's when he was a little past his prime he was still the man. We all admired and wanted to be like him. I'd love to see people try his jumps today without all the new technology. Very few people had his heart and courage. rip
Sadly some of these "fans" don't even know what it is to respect the dead. TAKE OFF YOUR HAT! My grandfather, from Lewistown Montana, would have knocked me out if I walked into a funeral with my hat on let alone any home! Where the hell has respect and honor for your elder's gone? Rest in peace Evel, my hats off to you! Farewell.
@asystolgod I totally agree with your point. In this case, though, I'd bet Evel wouldn't have minded a hat or 2... or if anyone showed up on a bike with a helmet. Superman would be just glad you came to the show...
What a fitting song for the send off for such a great man. He will always be pretty high on my list of people and through Christ, we'll get to ride again someday. Thank you -
His best jump - Into an amazing Faith in Jesus. Truly blessed by the Holy Spirit - late in life. Watch his testimony on Robert Schuller's Chrystal Cathedral.
Evel Knievel was and always will be one of my heroes. A true living superhero, I had the Evel knievel toys as a child and pretended to be him when I'd ride my bicycle. He was simply the best. A legend to us all. It was great being a child of the 70's and growing up the the legendary Evel Knievel. Godspeed to you Evel, you are sadly missed but never forgotten!!!
Evel Knievel was a HUGE part of my childhood. I lived for every jump they showed on WWOS. I had his toys and Evel would be proud of the jumps I made with them. I also emulated him as much as possible with every jump I made on my bike with a wooden ramp and some bricks. He was larger than life and will always be remembered as the original motorcycle stuntman.
Your video is beautifully done, thank you. As a kid growing up in the 70s I can't express how much this man touched our lives, he was a real life Super Hero to us all. Me and my brother had all the Knievel toys back then. Where do the years go? I am truly thankful to have been around then to watch him fly, he's one of many reasons Im damn proud to be American made!

a great stuntman/daredevil..... but the guy was a prick. i just watched a show with richard hammond about him and he was rude and very unpleasent. great at entertaining.. shame he was an arsehole
@walnutpearl I think you shouldn´t believe these "true story", I have seen a few also. Movies are made to attract the audience and earn profit, and what better way than making a special person seem like an idiot. That sells better.Look up live interviews with him and how he behaved,it won´t be as exciting a a drunk stuntman (portrayed in his movies while he as a stuntman but actually took place after his stunt days were over)cursing everyone out, but it will show who evel knievel really was.
@NSantoro704 evel was an idol to me,he lived hard, rode hard and died to young.i liked and apreciate the video of his funeral as i could not attend.thanks!
Evel had the balls to do it his way, may not have always been the best way but he never took any crap from anybody, never spent any days toiling away in some cubicle collecting a meager paycheck - RIP Evel
Evil was a great American Patriot and Ambassador of good will, he told many kids to stay away from drugs and promoted staying in school. He loved America! God bless him!
@Rocknranchman and in england we loved him after his jump over here he was my child hood hero the amount of jumps we used to do over here pretending we was him ,a true legend the man might die but his legend lives on .
Evel Knievel actually at the end of his life did the greatest stunt he ever did. He confessed his sins to Jesus Christ - the living God - he accepted Him in his heart! Look it up on youtube. It is just amazing how God works!
I'm so glad that this man made peace with the world and the Lord before he passed. The Lord will surely take this man and hold him dearly. He did what he knew and gave a lot to the world through his entertainment. It's truly a shame that the visitation appeared to be empty except for a few people. Sad ending for a man who gave so much of himself to the world. I watched that same thing at my brothers funeral. Rest In Peace Mr. Knievil you earned it. God bless Robbie and keep him safe!

With your help, I feel almost as if I had. I owe you a debt of thanks. Well done, ( OBVIOUSLY ) in good taste,AND with your heart in the right place. Thanks again.
i met evel knievel in lasvegas back in 1989 i got a hand shake and a autograft picture he was a very nice person but he will always remembered and never forgotten my you rest in piece and my prayers go out to your family.
JohnLombardShow, you are definitely the man! What better way than to enjoy a few in Evel's memory. You should check "Evel Knievel Days" the last week of July in Butte, MT. I promise, you won't be disappointed (and you can wear your jacket and enjoy a few along with a HUGE group of Evel's friends and family). Happy Landings!
Knievel died in Clearwater, Florida on November 30, 2007, aged 69. He had been suffering from diabetes and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis for many years. A longtime friend reported that Knievel had trouble breathing while at his residence in Clearwater, but died before the ambulance could reach the hospital.
My Son and I were @ Kings Island tonite, May 24 2008.We witnessed the Greatest Daredevil of all time. KAPTAIN ROBBIE KNIEVEL!!! At least that is what Evel says!Robbie SOARED over 24 Coke Zero Trucks!!!The day @ Kings Island was called, "Like Father Like Son" day @ the park.Robbie dedicated the Jump to his Dad, and said "I'll see ya soon Dad" looking @ the Sky when he spoke of his Father. RIP- Evel Knievel. Way to go ROBBIE!!! I think you made your Father Proud. It was AMAZING!!!
Yee slide, it seems like only yesterday he was performing on Wide World of Sports. I was very sad to hear of his passing. He was my childhood hero. RIP Evel.
It doesn't seem like that long ago I was a kid watching every jump he made on TV, just waiting for the next one - now he's gone, living his last few years as a frail old (relatively, anyway) man. It just goes to show you how quickly time goes by.
This man was an absolute legend, the greatest of the greatest, sadly now he is no longer with us, but his legacy will live on forever, R.I.P Evel, a true legend.

You soccer ball kicking sissy... He was someone you'll never be - a real man.
It would be a privledge to find you, and punch your lights out, just like Evel would have done if you said it to his face.
Now, entertain us with your response, you little fairy...

Why did he die?
PiBrown91 3 years ago
Knievel died in Clearwater, Florida on November 30, 2007, aged 69. He had been suffering from diabetes and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis for many years. A longtime friend reported that Knievel had trouble breathing while at his residence in Clearwater, but died before the ambulance could reach the hospital.

Thank you for posting this. In the 1970's I had two heroes
who wore white, one was Elvis Presley, the other was this
man. Both were pioneers in what they did, both will never
be replaced!

It doesn't seem like that long ago I was a kid watching every jump he made on TV, just waiting for the next one - now he's gone, living his last few years as a frail old (relatively, anyway) man. It just goes to show you how quickly time goes by.

you may think that was a cheap casket but his family rented the citys entire civic center for his body
well miss you evel :(
