Science has proven that the earth had a beginning. It's documented in the book I just mentioned.
Now Atheists are posed with the nagging question, who or what created the universe?
Basically, atheists ignore my question and/or ignore the possibility of a God creating. Can I prove beyond a doubt? No. But I can prove beyond a reasonable doubt. I simply believe Athiest have more faith than Christians.
All the evidence you have is in this short message. The only way you know I exist is because you chose to read what I'm trying to tell you. But that doesn't make me human. This message could have been formed out of a computer glitch naturally. Thats about as probable as a living cell coming together naturally. Only if I wanted to write down all the information in a cell, it wouldn't fit in this box. I know God exists because I read into his messages.
I cannot prove you exist beyond all doubt - there is no such thing as absolutes.
Secondly - you are right that the odds against a modern cell forming naturally as astronomical, however the simple chemical reactions (which are the basis of cell biology) can build in complexity over time leading to what we see today.
What is amazing is that part of the universal system is at least partially self aware.
You know I really don't understand what your gonna achieve by disproving God. These things shouldn't matter to you @ all, I mean after all you are an atheist. I just find it kind of funny how you put all your life into this, without getting anything in return....its kind of a pity if you ask me...
Feel free to use more of your energy prove me wrong...I won't care.
The belief in a deity vs. the nonacceptance of the supernatural is extremely important. If you doubt it, just ask the English can barely keep up with the attempted bombings (attempted murders)by RELIGIOUS terrorists. If this issue is not important, then I don't know what is. Bravo to askegg for making an attempt to address this major problem that's plagued the human race for millenia.
Did you ever ask yourself if you were the deluded party? I'm not implying that you're actually deluded, I'm just saying everyone thinks they know the truth, theist and athiest, I think it's a mistake to stop questioning your own beliefs, no matter to which pole they've shifted.
Atheists hold convictions. Theists hold beliefs. There is night and day in between. Everything that exists in the world falls into the first category. Human imagination/dreams/nightmares fall into the latter.Real vs. Not Real. (continued)
(continued) You can revise convictions with new knowledge. Imagination never need be revised, and knowledge (reality) holds no sway over beliefs.BIG difference; life and death difference if you use beliefs when convictions are required (like driving, flying, eating, etc.).If you "believe" that car is not going to hit you, will you survive?
I don't think the answers you're looking for lie in theoretical physics, they lie in Human psycology. Almost every Human on planet Earth believe in a sumpreme being, of some sort, it's a very basic part of the Human psyche. Are they all deluded, every last one, or is it instinct?
@askegg 4 years later I chip in that just because a million people believe something - it doesn't make it instinct. Millions believed that the earth was the centre of the universe, doesn't mean it was instinct that said so.
What nail? Thanks Egg well said. To put it simply;
Don't know = god. Wrong wrong wrong. Don't know = don't know. Why do we have to conjure up a deity or the supernatural to explain gaps in knowledge? People have been doing this for millennia and have always been proven to be wrong. It's such a cop out. You may as well throw the towel of logic and enquiry in permanently with this type of thinking.
I belief that something conscious must have created the universe. Even if the universe is infinite, that's god-like and supernatural in itself which opens the door to countless other possibilites.
I am not offering proof here, just presenting some alternative possibilities for creation, the universe and God. Without the application of evidence, logic, reason and deduction the possibilities are equally valid. However, some options we can support via experimentation and observation - these are the ones we should hold up as truth. The others should remain on the refuse pile of silly notions.
No - he is participating in a discussion on my "conversion to atheism" video. Since the discussion covers a lot of ground I thought a video reply would be the go.
Since space *and* time are products of the Big Bang, surely time-based questions such as "what preceded the Big Bang" are meaningless. Nothing can precede, or cause, something unless and until there is time in which such events can happen.
The universe may well have existed in a different form, and it is irrelevant what that form may have been. I think it is enough to say it is possible.
I believe that the chaotic expansion theory says just that, but I'm no expert. Worth looking up, but when I dip into theoretical cosmology my brain starts leaking from my ears.

Read thee book, "I don't have enough faith to be an Atheist" for proof of God beyond a reasonable doubt.
God Bless you!

Are you absoluely sure about that? Sorry, it was too easy!

All the time. If I did not I would be just as guilty of irrationality as others who will not listen to the arguments and view both sides.

Truth is not a democracy.
The delusion may well be instinct, but that does not make it true.

Please read a bit on speeches and how to get some logic into it. I have no clue what you are trying to proove.
