I used to race in those days too, stopped in 99' with a back injury :( oh well. All I can say is great memories and great AMERICAN MADE BIKES! and parents and kids with balls not like todays! some kids can't even ride today
Unreal...I thought I recognized the Howell NJ track (the last one)..I came in 5th at 15x one year at their annual Iron Man Classic....what great memories!!!
In 82 the Niagara Falls race (in August?) was a sweeping left turn, but it was an "S" with 4 straights with that big peak jump going into the last turn, unless there was another Niagara Falls race that same weekend. I have pics of that Niagara Falls track; the second turn had quite a high berm. We got to stop at Honeys Pizza, which made our day. I actually have some pics from this race at the point the announcer says "Mitch Martino." I was probably a few motos back being in 16-24 cruiser.
Were there 2 Niagara Falls races that weekend? (probably late August 1982) I bet I knew you. You probably didn't record all the mains at the 82 Grands, but check if you've got 16-24 cruiser main, because I was actually leading the main going into the first turn, leading Judge (Hutch) and Fehd (GT), and had my fingers crossed that somebody got it on film. The last race is Howell, NJ. I slid out in the first turn and my eye lid was ripped on an axle, and I went to the hospital.
SO RAD

The people on 20" bikes were scared of people on 26" cruisers and wouldn't let them race them with cruisers.

I don't remember exactly when it was...it was so long ago. The Niagara race was the same weekend.

The first race was from the NY St. Fairgrounds in Niagara Fall, NY.
There are a few others I have posted here...look over to the right.

I saw your comments elsewhere, and I used to race Justin Shepherd on cruiser, and sold his father my Moosegoose.

I think the first race is Ft. Hamilton, OH, then South Park, Pittsburgh, then Howell, NJ. Awesome. Got more?
