I saw this before watching the anime last year... it's what got me watching it. When I saw the first episode after this, I was suprised to see that Kenichi was some weak dude always getting beaten up at first. This is a great show, really funny. Better than Bleach, Naruto and those shows IMO. Wish they'd make more.

@KumoKojiki i completly love the 25-50 episode animes and they do usaly have great storylines, however theres always exeptions to the rules, i like one piece 1. because of the awsome fight scenes 2. for the comedy they have in it 3. the awsome storyline and 4. because its so amazing the detail they put into the backstorys, there not just random people who got together they all have a history thats great to watch. although they sometimes do draw things out without reason but no animes perfect :)

Actually this series bloooows hard. While I tried to follow this series with an open mind it's extremely sad how poor the writing is. Kenichi is shallow and absolutely uninteresting as a main character and his masters (especially elder) are too strong thus destroying any sense of progress and danger. I had hoped that the author had the balls to kill apachai off but he obviously doesn't.

Actually, there is a LOT of fantasy in "History's strongest disciple Kenichi". In matter of fights there are lots of animes that arent martial-arts animes and have much better fight scenes. But yeah, I have to agree that Kenichi is EPIC. Love this manga.
