Very atmospheric and nice, although the special effects opening titles and at 3:44-4:13 reminds me a little too much of Sam Rami's 'Evil Dead' movies, this video IMHO would be better off without them.
This is beautiful. I love the eerie-yet-peaceful vibe this part has, compared to the second part which is so very full of emotion. A shame that this video doesn't reenact the complete poem, but still very well done. Also, does anyone happen to know what the instrumental song at the beginning is? It's enchanting.
The raven's voice was very fitting for this video and for the poem because a lone raven being perched above a door, was once considered to be the angel of death waiting patiently to guide the passing soul on to the next part of the spiritual journey, and in the 1800's, more and more people became fascinated with the spirit world, particularly in the Victorian era :)
Thank you for posting this up, thumbs up from me :)+
The only problem I've got with this video is that I'd always imagined Poe to be some sort of public building... say a room at an inn or apartment building. It seems wrong that being alone in a house somebody would be knocking on your chamber door.
"Leonor" was the long-lost brother -- ever heard of nevermore. This is quite delicious, visually, and the poem is superbly read. The music is divine -- especially the violin, which is at times both sad and frantic. Superb.
@TheWWEFan95 I was just thinking about that kind of thing....it would be really hard to do one well, too becaus the poem's in iambic tetrameter. the rhythm isn't really a raping one unless you're doing old-school 90's rap. at least, in my mind. I have wanted to see someone do that though.
This is one of the most, if not THE MOST, famous gothic poem in history, in my opinion. Absolutely amazing - it takes a genius, if not horrendous mind to think up something like this...
Wow wow wow! What an outstanding vid for this poem. The actor, the setting, and the Raven (except his voice, they should have made it different) was perfect! Too bad they didn't recite the whole poem and the ending was a bit wrong but other then that it was a great vid...Edgar Allen Poe forevermore!
@KadeshLeMort He was 27, she was 13. Get your facts straight-- may I remind you that was 200 years ago-- woman married at age nine and sometimes, there wasn't such thing called incest.
this is a great piece. there is also a new movie out based on Poe's life, rather than his work. It will reveal the remaining mysteries about his fascinating life. You can watch the trailer by searching "Poe- Last Days Of The Raven Trailer" on youtube, or watch it from my favorites. The movie will stream for free online on Jan 19th, 2009 - as a tribute to Poe's 200th birthday. A must see for any Poe fan!!
The best interpretation I've seen so far! (even if the whole poem isn't here...which I feel would have made it even better) I love how we can see the complete sadness the narrator is feeling....the utter despair. And it portrays his trip into madness very well. The creepy Raven voice is a great touch!
well for those of you fans of edgar allen poe i guess none of you know that this isn't even the poem....it reads parts from diffrent parts of the poem....fucking rip off...good movie but if your going to read the poem read it right
good job LostProphecy777. Ur so smart for pointing that out. Especialy since no one is going to listen to an hours worth of poetry. so they shortened it to make it possible to make a short clip about it, but still trying to keep the main message of the poem. i guess ur too smart to realize ur not the only one who has read this poem. so plz, stop ur complaining.
lol complaining? If you can't listen to an hours worth of poetry (by the way its more like 10 mins or less not an hour) then you have no business listening to poetry in the first place idiot.
Gracias Compañeros por ver este corto, Poned ASD Teaser no oficial, a ver ke os parece lo ke estoy preparando. Esta sin terminar y sin color ni FX así ke es una cosa un poco chapuza.

That's no correct, the director is galician, but it's true that he lived many years in the Bask country.

Great Visuals. But just because you can do fiery effects doesn't mean you should. It would be 500x better with simple white credits.
DGoose33 2 years ago 2
I disagree, also this is a professional production, so its not like its poorly made or edited.
Not so sure about the narration though.

It should be sad, slow and on the dark side and not in a rap. It needs to keep its meaning.
