OK, so what's the deal with the singer not being Lenore? Did she not do her own vocals? Was she just a sort of Milli Vanilli sort of lip-syncer or what?
@ChrisOtheBigC The production company hired a ghost singer (Catherine Russell). I guess they thought Lenore was a marketable face. There was one single of "Lenore" which I believe was actually her singing, called "Is It Because of Love." But the lead vocals on the two albums were done by Catherine.
@retrorhythms WOW. Thanks for the info, I had no idea. I was thinking today what a GREAT voice Lenore had, and how much of a better singer I thought she was compared to several other beautiful "disco" divas of her era. Now I get a big part of why she didn't get more well known: she couldn't tour! THANK YOU for turning me on to Catherine Russell! It's a shame they didn't use her, a lovely black woman: obviously they were going for the stunning blonde Madleen Kane kind of thing!
Hello retrorythm, I´ve been looking for the last 30 years a song, I think it could be Cry Me (a million and one tears) from this LP, can you upload it just to be sure if it is the one I'm looking for ?
Because I wan t to buy the LP, but I want to be sure it is the right one.

I can't speak english just a little excuse me Can somebody please tell me how can I download it in mp3 format? i don't know how to do it I can see this you tube page and listen this gem but i would like to have it in mp3 in my computer because i wanna listen over and over again I waited almost 30 years to find it (I recorded this song in a tape from a rare R&B radio station in 1981 when i was a child in Mexico City and the tape is so old & never found the album in vinyl) I'm SO happy :) Thank U
This song got alot of radio play back home in NYC. I'm glad you posted this. I've been looking for this on youtube for a while. Thank you for the memories!!!!!!
I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS SONG FOR YEARS! I searched Google and every Billboard from the summer of 1980 - maybe I should have tried 1981. I would sing it to people and NOBODY remembered it. I had the entire title right but I somehow thought the singer's name was Samantha. Lenore O'Malley rings a bell though.
@TruthSerum101 You're welcome...I figured there were some people out here who were familiar with this lost gem and just not sure who sang it or where to find it! You may have been thinking of Samantha Sang...she did some material in a similar vein...
@retrorhythms ....RIGHT but I knew it wasn't Samantha Sang after awhile because no song in her discography contained this title. Up until very recently, there were no Google references to the song, itself at all.
i had this song on cassette for YEARS and didnt know who it was- i figured i try again by typing in the title on youtube and wala !!!!!! i cant thank you enough !!!!
Listening to this again was so joyful- and I have to say I was so used to the single version, I was "thrown" by the 27 seconds between 2:42 and 3:09- I don't think I ever heard them before- don't recall having this album, only the 45 and those 27 seconds were definitely cut out! Wow!

Shades of Guilty, Streisand BGs, it has to be said - but hey maybe music of this genre and period does sound quite samey- lyrics are sweet
