the greatest speech i've heard. so emotional and inspirational, you can see it came straight from his heart and a rare moment captured on film, where Elvis makes a public appearance and he isn't singing. this video is priceless, thank you very much for posting this.
Elvis is the only entertainer to get great response for Gospel music in Las Vegas. I remember a story where some girls held up a sign at a show that said "Elvis is King." He is said to have said, "Jesus Christ is the King, I'm only an entertainer."

Elvis basicly admits that he lived out his childhood fantasy in emulating James Dean, no wonder that at the age of 42 you have to summerize your life as 'just a fairytale'.
What are you talking about??? #1) In the beginning Elvis may have admired James Dean, but he surpassed Dean by King Creole!!!
#2) Elvis was a dreamer as a child LONG before James Dean!!!
#3) When did James Dean ever mention the Kingdom of heaven??? Elvis did it then, and even in today's politically correct world he did!!! Elvis was/is/and always will be the man!!!
I like Bruce Springsteen too, do you??? He LOVED and likely still does love Elvis... \
Elvis is reciting Roy Hamilton's "Without A Song." Elvis idolized him. In Jan. '69, Elvis was introduced to Roy at American Studios in Memphis by George Klein. (Elvis' sessions produced "Suspicious Minds," "In The Ghetto" & "Don't Cry Daddy.") Elvis was so nervous about meeting him, he was trembling. Roy died in July 1969 at age 40 from complications from a stroke. Other hits from Roy include "Unchained Melody" & "You'll Never Walk Alone." Elvis later recorded both.
even at giving speeches,EP is the ultimate showman. legend.
