I know a former BoA employee who became handicapped but was still highly competent and endured about 20 years of abuse. There are plenty of old silver & gold coins around that are well recognized. There are newer american eagle, canadian maple leafs, south african krueggerands etc. If there are things to buy but no "real" money, I think you could trade in sterling silver or gold jewelry. Merchants will scrape it (to remove any plating from fake coins etc.) , acid test it, weigh it & let you buy stuff with it. At least that is what I think will happen.

I have a commercial loan with BoA that they inherited from ABAmro/ Salon Bank.
They won't honor the original contract of my mortgage. The idiot cust, service rep. told me they did not have to honor the special clauses in my loan. Who has enough money to sue BoA. SO, I gave up. When BoA took over my loan, my real estate monthly debit started being divided into 2 debits monthly. WHat is all that about? Sounds like it was being divided among some other investor.

There are not $75 trillion of derivatives in the entire world. If you add up all the derivatives ever traded in the entire world, the value would not exceed $75 trillion.
The $75 trillion is the notional value. That is very different than the value of the derivatives.
If I bet you $100 that the budget deficit will exceed $1 trillion, our bet has a value of $100 and a notional value of $1 trillion. Which number accurately describes the value of our bet?

But that's the problem (or one of them), they won't get hunted down, they won't be made accountable now or in the future, which is why this happens time and time again. Name one single public representative in our Government; or any Western Government for that matter, who will stand up and say the system has to change, it's corrupt, it doesn't serve the nation, it's definitely unpatriotic. Any Politician thinking along those lines wouldn't get to the White House.

Ron Paul opposes these things & he is trying to get to the white house, however, I do not believe that the republicans will allow him to get the nomination. Congressperson Ron Paul for president/Governor Jesse Ventura for Vice President. Nobody can say those two don't have just as good of credentials than most who run.

@407buddy Having no bailout will only fuck the depositors... They have basically transferred all the liabilities to the depositors of the Bank Of America, and deposits are only insured up to a certain amount per deposit, I don't know what that is, twenty or a hundred thousand dollars or something. So basically Merrill Lynch are fucking ALL the large depositors of BoA over, and the management who are doing it are getting away with billion dollar bonuses...as per usual.

@PlayingGilly $75 trillion is the total amount of the dirivitives Merrill Lynch holds, if they all pay off, it is like being a bookie, and that is the value of ALL the pay offs if ALL the bets that are made pay off. The total ACTUAL amount is far less.
But still enough to destroy not only BoA but the American economy as a whole.

I know a former BoA employee who became handicapped but was still highly competent and endured about 20 years of abuse. He sued them and won for an undisclosed amount, owns his condo in Manhattan outright and travels in his wheelchair first class on Amtrak. Good for him cuz this was no lazy guy, he was fully competent but they were so vicious! He documented it all and won. 20 years of that! I've worked for banks and it was always hell. The peter principle. Uprated.
