  • is this the hats off to (Roy) Harper, Roy Harper?

  • Man Roy hates the interviewer

  • dreamy eyes of mr. page

  • All of that synth pop from this period sounds so dated now. 80's production was the worst. On the other hand, Zeppelin sounds timeless. Jimmy's point about the only difference in bands being the singer was dead-on. The 80's were pretty grim until the end of the decade when there was a brief resurgence through the early-Nineties.....and then the light went out again.

He looks 10 years younger here than he did 5 years earlier at Kilburn.

  • @streetparade Kilburn = Knebworth of course. :-)

  • Agreed Jimmy is gorgeous, sexy, humble.

  • 7.08 bands that really were.........what?

  • @sonnyreddevil69 forget it,he said work at there instruments

  • gay ending, guys dont know what they are talking about.

  • There should be laws forbiding people from being HOT as you are Mr Page....Seriously......That's pure injustice!!!!!!! You should be in jail JIMMY!!!!!!!!!!

  • page got done for coke same year

  • This what's like it, personal close to you boys.Roy Harper are Jimmy´s best friends. Creating music.

  • was this roy harper some kind of fag or something? google search images of him...makes me wonder

  • @1954telecaster who cares? he's a genius!!

  • @1954telecaster - are you some kind of a neanderthal or something?

Internet posts by you... makes me wonder

  • @1954telecaster so. Homophobe let me guess?

  • @1954telecaster I don't think so - he has children, he's written many songs about women. Are you referring to that saucy photo of Roy & Robert Plant? Plant was the one dressed in drag. Hey, it was the 70's - people were wild and free.

  • depche mode..........fuck off.

these shite cunts will be tesco shelf stackers whilst jimmy is sitting on a £100m+ fortune!

  • 3:58-he didnt play his guitar because he lost Bonzo

  • JIMMY PAGE BOUGHT ALIESTER CROWLEYS MANSION IN SCOTLAND--------THIS MAN WAS THE MARK--REPTILIAN--------MIND CONTROL

JOHN BOHNAM WAS THERE BLOOD SACRIFICE-AND PLAnts KIDS-ITS A FRATERNAL ORDER THAT DOESN'T INVOLVE YOU-

    CONNECTION TO KASHIMIR SONG CREEPS

EMMANUEL-Jesus Christ survived his crucifixion and travelled to Kashmir, India.

It presents evidence that he lived the rest of his life in Kashmir, and his tomb is located in the Kan Yar section of Srinagar, the capital of Kashmir, India

  • @exposingthemachine whats your point?

  • @exposingthemachine reptialian mind control?.... what would page gain from this "sacrificing" bonzo it made the band split up

  • Jimmy is a wonderful combination of yummy ruggedness and a sweet femininity perfect combination in a man.

  • Comment removed

  • Ooooooh Jimmy.... he's always so cute!

  • Haha why were they making those sheep noises?

  • Dont like this video. Roy was answering for Jimmy on topic that NOBODY but Jimmy could possibly answer. Jimmy looked so sad. You can tell he was genuinely hurt by the oss of Bonzo. They all knew it at the time and still do as I do. there can never be a Led Zeppelin again. There was a majic about them. They were able to read each othets minds on stage. Thats why you will never hear the same song played the same way 2x's.

  • Located at the Houses of the Holy

  • Jimmy PAGE the greatest of all....

  • LOL at those self-important fags from Depech Mode at the end, who remembers them now? Meanwhile Page is still a god.

  • 7:48 "It's not fa-a-a-ir!" lol

  • Hats off to Roy

  • He is just so adorable. I love Jimmy's voice :). *fangirl scream*

  • @iamPrincessPeri lol fangirl scream

  • Listen people,no guitarist is perfect, but as long as the energy and feel is there,it's music.Playing guitar ain't as easy as it looks, even if you are a famous rockstar. As for the pagerism?Look up any band's songwriting & ur bound to find rip offs.So much ground has been tread on in music it's appauling. But to harness the spirit of past musicians & spin it into something of your own, that takes talent.

  • Nice to hear what two great guys are talkning to us in a documentary and we are listening to it later, today or at late night. Two musicians with great record. #H2

  • i go beat you

  • @valkour22 you are indeed an IDIOT!! Enough said.

  • @valkour22

I notice that you claim Jimmy Page to be “ONE OF THE SLOPPIEST GUITARIST EVER AND A DISGRACE TO RNR HALL OF FAME!!!”

Although on you channel there are no videos of you playing guitar visual or sound wise. Why is this? Because if you can quote the above, then I would be only to pleased to hear from you how it should be done! Or are you just an empty vessel with nothing to say of any real substance?

  • I had the distinct privilege of meeting Jimmy in 1988. He was sitting at the bar at the hotel he was staying in, drinking a beer, alone. My friends and I approached him and he spent over 30 minutes chatting w/ us. I was blown away by how kind and sincere he was. Just a perfect gentleman and even cracked a few jokes w/ us. Say what you will about the man, but he is a rock icon and one helluva nice person. Very humble too, especially considering his status.

  • I can remember watching this on the TV when it was first broadcast. Roy and Jimmy, it doesn’t get much better than this for me. Dam fine song too, I have a live version of this on vinyl from In Between Every Line, which is just Roy and his guitar.

  • Roy harper is also fucking legend. Check out Stormcock

  • "Who's in the band?"

    "Me."

"Well, besides you and Paul Rogers, for example."

    "Yeah."

    "Who's in it?"

    "Yeah."

LOL Love Jimmy Page, very influencial man!

  • Love Jimmy

    ZOSO

  • shit sandwich

  • If Jimmy Page fucked yer mother you would think it was cool

  • Jimmy Page's voice is so soft, I like it ! :)

  • @MrWittlez I know isn't he so precious? :)

  • @ElektraAsylum Yes he is!! I just want to kiss him and...well this is where I stop talking!! :)

  • they think they had good technology back then?! lmao!! 1980's....

  • @JustSomeGuyOk wait and see in twenty years just how dated out tech will be

  • depeche mode saying jimmy page has no ideas......O.o

  • This comes to mind.. Before1984 anything heavy or psychedelic was put out or banned..Especially music television,''I mean i never got to see led zeppelin or any hendrix videos sabbath or anything that i liked growing up in the early eighties..And the fucked thing about it was MTV had all of those videos that are commen on youtube now..But never hardly ever did i see anything from that era and it pisses me off thinking about it cause all we got in early 80s was flock of seagulls i dont understand

  • a beautiful view at 0:46! wow! these guys jammin' in the mountains...priceless!

  • Jimmy Page = THE MUMBLER.

  • Jimmy always looks so beautiful.

  • @ElektraAsylum as always lol!!

  • 7:00 in, Jimmy Page nails it.

  • jimmy page=GOD

  • Led Zeppelin the Catholic Church of rock.

  • I would really like to hear Jimmy Page or Robert Plant discuss the Halloween Party held at Chiselhurst Caves in October 1974. Does anyone have any details on this subject. Their was many celebrities in attendance. Somebody has to know something.

  • what Jimmy says at 4:16-4:20? "there is no ...... to to succeed"

  • fuck those kids in the end

  • This is horrible. The interviewer is smarmy and extremely disrespectful. I read that lead guitar players are dynamic on stage and very shy off stage. I have seen that repeatedly in my friendships with musicians. Jimmy is shy and not media savvy and this asshole takes advantage. Very disturbing.

  • gotta remember jimmy is just gettin off the heroin at this point. his brain is probably fried...

  • @metsjets315 ha ha, your so funny, his brain must be fried... Im sure that snide remark makes all the difference to his legacy. Page is a genuis, and an original, so heroin or no heroin, how about looking at his finer points... Are you responcible for the greatest heavy rock band of all time? Er nooooooooooooo.

  • @metsjets315 Dont be a muppet... He looks fine.. Thats none of you business either you prat.

  • Aha Bela tarn happy memories

  • Stupid and ridiculous interview. I blame both the interviewer and these musicians. Jimmy Page and MANY other musicians cannot hold an intelligent conversation so save their souls.

  • @MrLeagueOJustice What are you on about jimmy can't hold an intelligent conversation, hes probably got more interesting opinions and thoughts to talk about in one sentance compared to what you'd spit out in an life time... Stupid comment.. Page may be tired of interviews but he still gives them, so give him a break, imagine what youd be like in his position.

  • @MrLeagueOJustice how do you define "an intelligent conversation"?

  • When page snored, the solo for dazed and confused was injected into him, when he sneezed, communication breakdown came out, when Jimmy page had an orgasm, the sun was created (and Kashmir, which IS better then stairway!) (kind of) (but not the solo)

  • the interviewer is an asshole

  • DEPECH MODE??? THEY SUCK.

trying to say that page doesn't know???

    whatta joke!

  • jimmy wow!! 84 wow!! how time moves sooh quickley

  • You got to have an idea, but you don't need any talent, which really sums up Depeche Mode quite well then.

  • the comment section ought to be the comedy section- the amount of clueless cunts talking crap here is hillarious

anyone talking crap about jimmy or ovation are just making retarded fools of themselves ahahaha

p.s. journalists generally are wankers anyway, thats why they report the news instead of making it

  • @ branden1119 i see you are 21 years old well i am 51 and have been a fan long time before you were born. but its is good to see a young fan standing up strong for Led Zep.

  • Ovation?????

Jimmy is playing a shitty Ovation????

  • @septip123 what u expect he is a crappy guitarist

  • @valkour22 Oh look, Jimmy's got 'is own lit'l troll he 'as! Course, bein' so into magical things and all, i s'pose 'es got all manner of creatures like that flittin' about 'im at all times. So tell me then mate, 'oo you think is worthy? En fucking lighten us then! Come on! Let's 'ere it then? Look 'ere then valkour22, in the words of the estimable Graham Chapman: "SHUT YOU'RE FESTERING GOB YOU TIT!!"

  • @BubbaZen10 u must not hear ears if u call that good playing.I seen page 2 times live and he suxx.worst live guitarist i every seen, sloppy and no control. stoled every lick he every came up with about note for note. if u dont believe me look up led zep plagerism . of the 1st 3 ALBUMS I BELIEVE GOOD TIMES BAD TIMES ONLY ORGINAL AND SOME SAY HE STOLE THAT!!!!! WHAT A JOKE MOST OVER RATED GUITARIST IN HISTORY!

  • @valkour22 Yeah yeah yeah pal. i know what you're here for, ok? Let me fucking give it to you now. Fun to hide behind words on the net where you know you won''t get you're fucking ass kicked like you do in life all the time, ain't it? What could possibly make you're little troll ass piece of shit self think i or anyone else here gives a fuck what no talent nobody thinks about Page? Wait now. Before you fucking answer, learn to read and write English a little better, then get back to me.

  • what up with these clowns at the end, all i can recall about them is there band name.they have the balls to talk about being creative, what have they create, songs that few people listen to anymore. i hope they have there money in the bank, cause nobody is buying there crap anymore.

  • @Dreadfuldancer dude are you seriously talking shit about Zeppelin??? Noone listens to Zeppelin anymore??? Dude you fuckin naive... and retarded there reunion concert could have been sold out 4 times by the amount of ppl that were there to see them... get your shit straight and oh yea the buliding housing the reunion was a colliseum (40,000ppl x4)

  • @ branden1119, Hey I am a huge fan Of zep . I was talking about the dudes at the end of the video, not Jimmy Page. even so what up whit the name calling.

  • @Dreadfuldancer you idiot, people are always going to buy zepplin records, and jimmys contantly marketing the band even to this day... Stairway to heaven, one of the best tracks ever written. You need to read a few books obviously...

  • 1.20 Playing 3-4 hours long concert´s for 12 year´s (In the beginning the shows were shorter right) on tour takes some kind of physical shape and gives shape to

  • Page was spot on. I do love some of that music but this knee jerk reaction sparked the grunge movement.

Need for more substance. This last decade is even worse with Idol.

  • Dave Gahan = Cunt. Fact! How can that talentless twat be seen live in TV dissing JP? What a cock!

  • LOL, WHO are these guys sitting on the couch?? The fact is, Jimmy Page will always be known for his work, whereas these clowns and others like them will just fade away and not be remembered. Same thing with the rap crap...it will never make the mark that real musicians have made, never!

  • @livnfree930 Agreed!!!

  • 6:38 Amen to that, brotha

  • This is why i like Youtube. You get to see all the old stuff that you are interested in with your favorite "artists". Thank you so much for uploading.

  • i wanna meet jimmy..at least once in my life :/

  • :P I love Jimmy.

  • Beautiful place for an interview

  • do you remember jimmy late 60s early 70s comon pal

  • Its not fai-i-i-i-i-ir

  • @svini94 I noticed that :)

  • A few wild birds... Rare species of wild orchid, and 70s rock stars...

  • Comment removed

  • Annyone noticed the reporter looks just like Paul McCartney?

  • @svini94 No, not at all.

  • @svini94 HAHAHA I THOUGHT IT WAS!

  • @svini94 I actually thought it was him for a good number of seconds.

  • @svini94 totallyy :D

  • Shows no respect to James Patrick, I remember when this was 'Set up"...disgraceful, Jimmy should have been knighted. Fuck 'em Jim' we love ya'.

  • zzzzz....wake me up at 9min 48sec

  • All the anti-DM stuff is bullshit. It's just like interviews with Zep from 1971 where the interviewers just want to talk about the Beatles - of course they want to defend themselves. To say that DM haven't done anything in 25 years is just stupid, I can think of very few bands that have progressed musically as much - from "Just Can't Get Enough" to dark industrial that, yes, plays guitars and has a "real drummer."

I'm a MASSIVE Zep fan btw. Some people need to be a bit more open-nminded.

  • @boggedmaffus Anyway, Page didn't even mention DM - all he said was that he just thought that '80s music was "verse-chorus" and it hadn't moved on musically despite the change from guitars to synths, which is true; but a lot of '80s electro bands (Human League, for example) WANTED to sound like '60s pop. In the '90s, Jimmy came out and said he was a fan of the Prodigy - all electronic, no guitars. If you think that Zep never used synths go back and listen to Carouselambra.

  • Those Depeche Mode guys are gay leather idiots...

  • Depeche mode were a real bunch of winkers. I'd forgotten they even existed till I saw this. The eighties were the start of the death of music. Long live Jimmy and Roy, and yes Mark is a real tosser.

  • Leather jacket, scarf, and boots. Jimmy, you are stylishly sexy!

    Who cares about the others?

  • depeche mode to Zep is what Jimmy said Herman's Hermits lol

  • Page was Smoking a Joint

  • Wow, old crap at its best. Well done DM for not rising to the "old school knows best" crap flying. Page was a good guitar player, great at taking others ideas, at least DM really were very much in the fore front of what they were best at...Computer music.

  • whoa, Jimmy looks good and he was what? 40 something? just an amazing guy

  • Depeche mode on computers in music: "Its not like you can just hit a few buttons and it'll create the song for you." Sorry thats exactly what its like. Dont get me wrong there are still some extremely inspired and talented musicians that use technology and computers to create their sound. But for the most part it is a crutch that does most of the work for you.

  • @JIPALIG

I think the increase in technology just allows for greater creativity. The more sounds and textures you can use, the more creative you can be. My only thing is, I don't like when bands play tapes live. I prefer all live music to be generated, well, live. Zep is in my top couple favorite bands, but Jimmy needs to change his perspective a little. He needs to look at the new technology and find how it can change music in a good way.

  • @mellamosean

This interview is 26 years old. What Jimmy is saying, is that for all the technology they have at there hands it really doesn't sound as good as it should or could and it still comes down to verses and choruses, and he is right. You can have all the technology you want, if you don't have a feel for writing music, it won't help you, you might as well just cut up lettuce all day.

  • @JIPALIG not really...cheers!

  • Mark Ellen is the interviewer, I believe. He managed to REALLY piss Ian Gillan off later that same year!

  • pagey has a bottle and a smoke!

  • Is it any wonder why Zeppelin hated the press? Listen to this moronic "interview". Ahead of their time and miles ahead of most critics, Led Zeppelin, probably the greatest band in the history of rock music, had to put up with endless crap.

  • this interviewer is just awful....

  • dush mode not in rockinroll hall of fame and never will be page called

  • Roy Harper's cool and all, but, well, he keeps interrupting Jimmy Page. That's just one of those things you just don't do.

  • Roy: "I appreciate that you're trying to go faster than I'd like ..." Roy's a bit stoned, try to keep a slow pace.

*sorry, couldn't resist; it was right there*

  • yeah i reckon thats Clarkson

  • Isn't that the guy from TOP GEAR? Am I wrong? :(

  • Comment removed

  • @Germania72 omfg I think it is!

  • Jimmy is 40 in this, right? He still looks really young :P He aged well.

  • hats off!

  • 0:00-0:02

    OI, OI!

  • white robin, you do realise that Led Zep are the biggest heavy rock band/ band of all time. Jimmy created heavy rock, he made the les paul a global iconic guitar, he wrote the most played song on the airwaves of all time. He set the bench mark for what heavy rock is all about. A true original. If he never played another note again, he would still remain the grand master of rock, heavy guitars, and all thats good about english music. Dont be jelouse all your life kid...

  • @dappahand Well put

  • @dappahand im not getting mad at you im just pointing someting out. jimmys biggest influence was peter green who created the tune The Green Manalishi which is about as hard rock as it gets. judas priest covers this song showing that jimmy didnt exactly create heavy rock,

  • @valkour22 No, your just a cheeky cock.. Page is responcible for the biggest and baddest hard rock band of all time. He was influenced by the greats, he was also londons best session guitarist before he came up with the brain child of zeppelin. Hes written some of the best tunes ever, and his band are some of the most talented the earths ever seen. The majority of musicains out there take inspiration from others, so what your saying is a load of toss... His playing is genius, end of. COCK...

  • @dappahand ur about dumb! page has stolen more material than anyone in the history of music. He never wrote a song he only stole from early blues musicians. He is a very sloppy guitar player also. just look up led zeppeline plagerism and u will see this guy is a bum!!!!

  • @valkour22 You need to get down off of your high horse, and realise that page had made a massive impact on music and that has happened for the right reason. Can you imagine how grueling his work schedual

was, how tired it could make a person. living like that, contantly be pressured to come up with the goods.

So if he put on a few performances where his playing got sloppy, so what!!! Where is it written that good rock n roll guitarists have to play perfect notes?? Thats the beauty of it.

  • what have you done for the last twenty yrs --musically or otherwise?

  • Ha Ha, Harper said Zep needed a tour. Why doesnt Page admit that the later stage Zep from 77-80 wasnt very good and was going down hill fast. If Bonham didnt polish himself off , Page probably wouldnt have made it. He was in horrible shape in 1980.

  • ha ha . funny stuff

  • why won't you put Roy Harper in the video title as well?

  • Fuck depeche mode. It's all about Zeppelin. You don't get calluses on your fingers from a computer.

  • @ColonelKickass57 +1 forever, I think they put that last bit up there just to make people thankful that Led Zep was original, talented, and a bunch of musicians. Not a bunch of talentless assclowns that whored a scene because it was available to be whored at the time.

  • ..... and Roy Harper

  • depeche zeppelin

  • is there a transcript of this interview??

  • hahahaha he may smoke, but at least its not heroin..... or is it???? jk lol

  • "Perdurabo" I shall endure to the end; Crowley's Neophyte motto

  • OY!!!! :o) haha too funny

  • Jimmy could have been thinking the interviewer was a complete dolt, but unlike Gene Simmons, Jimmy is too nice -- he wouldn't outright tell him so.

  • @KarmicOmen gene is a hack

  • as a Krafts man jimmy says

  • i like his boots

  • 6:58 For some reason I burst out laughing at the brief silence when Jimmy says:

"why dont they come out.. with their batteries?"

  • Is that an Ovation I spy in Pages arms? I never though I'd see him disarmed of his Gibsons and Martins

  • The 80's were hard on a lot of people, you know... ;-)

  • @mooiegarage Hahaha gotcha.

  • if you were to call roy harper names to jimmy page im quite sure he would be very offended and not want to talk to you. roy did a lot to help jimmy get back to his music and off the heroine. God bless him for that! God bless them both. and all of you as well. long live the real King of Rock and Roll, James Partick Page!!!!

  • here's my 2 cents. first off those of you who are dissing roy harper, he and Pagey have been close friends since led zeppelin existed. before he saw plant sing he actually asked harper if would be interested. roy isn't being rude. he knows his friend well and is being a friend. our beloved jimmy was going through some VERY rough times and hated interviews. he was sensitive and clearly didn't want to speak. i think roy was covering for him, and to me it appeared a loving act of friendship.

  • bravo

  • Wow Jimmy basically took what was going on in the 80s and forshadowed whats wrong with music today, they all sound the same, and they all use computers

  • jimmy page doesnt have machines talk to you. and doesnt remix someone elses spin off beat with no musical expierience. it means a no-one can be considered page....hahahaha 80's blew litterally....the machines now suck to. so why do you think page is still alive. to still influence properly. playing instruments is classic and forever in time...not some robot doing it for you and selling a little sex with it. if you listen to todays music you are !!!!!brainwashed!!it means you can suck and get pay

  • what a joke. that "journalist" and depeche mode, are you kidding me.

    ZEPPELIN 4 LIFE

  • Jimmy does have a point regarding some of the music they were discussing circa 1977-1984 but also Dave & Alan made some good points regarding live electronic music, in its defence. Lets not forget Led Zeppelin toyed with keyboards in their latter days, so they were aware of musics progression. Depeche Mode have spoken fondly of Led Zeppelin in the past, l don't think they meant to cause any offence with their hippy jibe, although it did seem a little out of character.

  • how can shit like depeche mode talk that about Jimmy and Roy?
