While this was going on in WCW between Hall & Nash in the WWF they were doing the same thing with the Road Warriors where Hawk was showing up to shows drunk and the idea was that Animal was going to replace Hawk with Droz. What was it about this time in wrestling history when they had great tag teams airing dirty laundry on national TV? Of course Vince and Mike Hegstram (Hawk) couldn't stand one another and Vince would've loved to had LOD without Hawk. Was that the case with the Outsiders here?
@hbk2hhh I have never heard that Vince couldn't stand Hawk but there are shoot interviews on Youtube done with Hawk not long before he died where he completely burried Vince in very unflattering ways. I could be wrong but I assume the feeling was mutual. They had heat between one another dating way back to when the Road Warriors in WWF back in the day. Mike Hegstrand was an alpha male kinda guy and was known for confrontations with promoters. Vince is an alpha male who has to have it his way.
@MrMLOPEZ82 I'd say as far as big name wrestlers go Hall is only second to the Rock on selling moves...although I think Hall was better at selling punches
I know about his problems. And yes, he had this problems earlier, i know. But after that he was a time sober. And WCW made this storyline. WCW would never let a drunk man go into the ring.
That is true, but what you see in the vid was just a angle. It's like Two and a half Man. This storyline was a mirror to Hall like the sitcom was one to Sheen.
@krazygreen yep, you sure did, Bobby Heenan said it, lol. I always loved Heenan, he would just throw alot of stuff out there & unless you seen every wrestling program you would'nt get the punchlines
on the second jacknife, any other wrestler would have just settled for the botched move and consider just dropping hall on his neck because he just wasnt co-operating... but you can blatently see nash putting so much effort into trying to fix the botch, which he did coz he loves scott like a brother. thats real.
@SingingToMyFeet Looked to me like Nash had his grapple too high on Hall's torso...I would've put the blame on Nash if anything, but I can see your side as well.
@g00dguyforyou well since wrestling is fake you know its just a gimmick right?? it was halls idea. you ninney. but anyway that jack knife has to be the best finsher in wrestling history
I can't believe what happen to the great Scott Hall, well Scott Hall was never truthfully that great, Razor Ramon was legendary, Scott Hall was the next product which was still mr. conterversy, mister great, everybody knew the guy but his alcoholism, really lost him the greatness he could have been, I could barely stand to watch the whole angle/storyline unfold, really poor stuff here.
what happen to razor ramon? diesel made him taste of his own medicine except he didnt do it using the razor's edge, he did it with a jack knife. So many victims with the jacknife including Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Razor Ramon, Bob Backlund, Lex Luger, Mr Pervert, DDP, and even Stone Cold Steve Austin who got the taste of it.
If you would like to see how WCW truly resolved this feud, check out the ending to Nash's title match versus Goldberg @ Starrcade 98. It's a moment that has stuck with me even to this day.
yeah they are suppose to look like that they look better than normal powerbombs plus its harder to sell that move cause to make it look gd you really got to land on your shoulder and bounce. Dispite Hall drink problem he did sell that move
except fucking tenay and schiavone ram it down your throat immediately. tony schiavone was/is a fucking moron, and tenay is always a company man, a bit overzealous. the brain was the only one with brains
I think WWE's JR is far worst as far as ramming things down people's throats. The WCW guys almost had no scripts, while JR had to follow the script, had to sell the storyline, had to praise the good guys(while Lawler was praising the bad guys).
I think around that time, the three-men commentary boot of Shiavonni, Mike Tenay and Bobby Heenan were the best in the biz.
this is what made wcw too dam fake kevin nash took too fuckin long to powerbomb scott hall and listen to schivani fuck up his lines for the 100th time jjackhamer time does kevin nash all of a suden look like bill golderg ? or did you mean jaknife powerbomb ill give you credit for making up for the mistake but there was just too manny fuck up's in that bizzness
Yeah.. well that was a streak match man.. We in the US dont usually have those types of matches.. those are usually left for the japanese fans.. dumb matches that have high spot after high spot and noone winning.. except.. that was fucking HBK and UT.. the two dudes that have given their life over the past 25 years to Vince McMahons WWF.. dude and that match was great.. shit. i wish UT lost tho.. HBk is the only one that deserves to end the streak.. if John Cena or CM punk or HHH do it. Gayness
Nash has such a vicious turn on the powerbomb. His jackknife descriptor is such an avid take on this manuever: instead of having the opponent land with the majority of the back and shoulders connecting the mat, Nash causes the recipient to land primarily on the upper back. I believe the Giant was severely injured using this variation and it is easy to see why. Nash pretty much had to be spot on, less the opponent would take an actual bump. Hard to understand why officials let him use this..
the giant was hurt because nash botched the bomb power and didnt get him up far enough, while the giant aswell didnt pull himself up and help nash so he was dropped on his neck
