Noun Chea studied and worked in Thailand, but why did he end up his carrier and joined with Pol Pot who he has not known before? U.S destroyed and killed a lot of Cambodian people along the Vietnam and Cambodia border at the time, but U.S keeps supporting Cambodian people very less. I am also have some doubts that related to 1975-77. I was a next generation, I did not born in the pol pot regime, but I know some story in that time. you know why Mr. Pol Pot killed Minister of Ministry of Defence? and Why was VN easy to win war with Pol Pot only one and two weeks?

My first question is, do Mr. Dith Pran and Dr. Hang Gnor are the same person? Secondly, beside of the reasons you demonstrated in this speech, Why Khmer Rough regime was occurred? Why American went to war in Vietnam? Why Thailand allowed U.S govt used her territory to attack Vietnam at those times? Do not say that because Thailand is U.S ally!

Vietnam was due to communism and world war 2, there was once a north and south vietnam. and the communist end was attking the other end. the U.S. being the other power had to help the non communist side to keep vietnam form going communist. the U.S. was fighting to keep democracy and the russians were fighting to spread communism. thats why there were so many other wars durring that time. and they used thailand to there advantage and a recover point for troops.

This is not true. The Russians did not fight at all in Vietnam. The North Vietnamese received aid form Russia in the form of weaponry, etc. But there were no Russian combat troops in Vietnam.

what i wrote which i thank you for saying 5 months ago cuhz i sure as hell wouldnt remember, did not intend to state that russia had troops there. fighting doesnt always mean physical combat. what i intended to direct is exactly what ur saying. they aided them, but in general russia was fighting to spread communism. and those air basses in thailand were the recovery point. they also had a few minor bunkers but those air bases is where they focused there landing of military trainers.

The spread of Communism was not "promoted" by Russia. This was the supposed reason for the U.S. involvement in Vietnam. Communism is a philosophy to which anyone can subscribe. It requires no indoctrination of any kind to do so. Russia gave material assistance to Ho Chi Minh & the N Vietnamese.

After WW2, Ho Chi Minh sent numerous communiques to President Truman asking the U.S. for help in the Vietnamese struggle against French efforts to reestablish colonial rule in Vietnam. All of these went unanswered. Ho quoted the U.S. Declaration of Independence when he publicly declared his struggle against the French at a public square in Hanoi. Since the U.S. would not help the Vietnamese people to keep free, Ho asked the Soviets for help. The U.S. supported the French fighting the VN.

This is a big lie that has been promoted by U.S. government and business interests for 90 years now, ever since the Russian Revolution.

Russia did have combat Pilots in Vietnam during the early 70's. 8 Russian pilots were killed by US warplanes and another 5 shot down, The Russian pilots never shot down a US plane, they would go up and try to provide support to the vietmenese pilots and were shot down during the Hanoi Bridges operation in late 1972. After that the Russians limited their presence to no more than 15 training advisers

Dith Pran and Dr. Haing Ngor are NOT the same person. Dr. Haing Ngor wrote his life story in a book called 'Survival in the Killing Fields'. In many ways his own personal story is even more horrific!! PLEASE READ IT! and pay your respects to two very courageous men. R.I.P.

The KR regime occured because of dirty politics. Pol Pot felt betrayed by Vietnam so he create the KR, communist Khmer (it went by a different name before KR). when the US was bombing Cambodia (Ho Chi Minh's trails) king Sihanouk used that as a propaganda to recruit farmers to join the regime. America went to war with Vietnam because it did not want communism to spread in the region and this is known as the domino's theory. If Vietnam fall then Laos and Cambodia will fall as well.
