He got batteries to ensure that his voltage stays up (4kw's are relatively easy to blow when the voltage drops) and also for those burps you can't have your vehicle on for.
He ran 4 Iraggi alts, MLA module, and plenty of runs of 1/0 by the time he finished this set up.
I would definitely work on your electrical system next, definitely get an HO alternator and multiple batteries. As much as you spent on those subs and amps I would figure you could have plopped down $300 bucks for an HO alternator. maybe get a bd4000 per pair or something.
To start, this video is of us testing my friends system after he finally got the subs and amps in. When he got the funds, he put a total of 4 alternators in it and about half a dozen yellow tops.

"This Dude" is me. That's my setup. You couldn't fit 6 BTLs in a suburban and get the right air space without a wall, or going so far over the window line it would be very close to one. Without a clamshell you wouldn't be able to fit the port in a wall. I built towards this setup for close to two years, so just get over it. If you want to prove you're better go ahead :)
I want to do 5 18" setup in a tahoe too but like you said there might not be enough room for a setup like i am thinking of. Tip...Get some chrome rims at least 24" :)
A waste?! It's quite a bit of work to have 20ft net in the back without blocking the windows. Without the wall it's impossible to fit 5- the subs are simply too big to have enough surface area to fit them all.
If you built a wall you could probably fit 5, but then you'd have no room for the port.
The reason i said its a waste is because so many people are getting this same setup. If i put 5 in a wall it would be something different then i would have a better system than Steve Meade and this dude. Or i could get a suburban. Then i could fit at least 6 in there!!

Simply pointing out that there are many louder systems than meade and louder daily drivers and also SB cars out there than people with little minds see here on youtube. BTW steve doesn't do 160db on music either. Just on test tones at 50-60hz. And he really does not do over 160db as an average db for 30 sec on music. But go look up some Usaci SB runs or visit a national and you will see a handfull out do him on music and thats and average over 30 secs not a spike with a test tone.

Well let's see the numbers that your system puts up and some proof. By the way this wasn't the final set-up, this was us playing with it just after he got it all in. After he could afford it, he ran 4 alt's at over 15 volts and a Memphis 4000 per sub. Is 16,000 watts not knowing how to power them?

"This Dude" is me. That's my setup. You couldn't fit 6 BTLs in a suburban and get the right air space without a wall, or going so far over the window line it would be very close to one. Without a clamshell you wouldn't be able to fit the port in a wall. I built towards this setup for close to two years, so just get over it. If you want to prove you're better go ahead :)

With the limited space we had (Troy did not want to have a wall) 4 18's was the most he could fit. Troy also went out and got a few alts.

I want to do 5 18" setup in a tahoe too but like you said there might not be enough room for a setup like i am thinking of. Tip...Get some chrome rims at least 24" :)

A waste?! It's quite a bit of work to have 20ft net in the back without blocking the windows. Without the wall it's impossible to fit 5- the subs are simply too big to have enough surface area to fit them all.
If you built a wall you could probably fit 5, but then you'd have no room for the port.

Actually I belive you would be called the dumb ass. With 30,000 watts and 8 18 that system is only doing 160db. Sorry im not impressed by its SPL. I have seen 160s off 2 18s and less power. I know a 4 18 Fi BTL system that puts that to shame easy. Go look up a guy name Mike Bartel he is doing 180db legal and thats with 4 Fi 18s so shut the f up and go learn something before you want to call someone a dumb ass. cancelation kills Db's. End of story!

Steve does build some big stuff. My Original comment that was simply stating that is has a lot of cancelation. 160db with that cone area and power is not impessive. there are many other systems out there that kill steves builds. Simply pointing out that there are many louder systems than meade and louder daily drivers and also SB cars out there than people with little minds see here on youtube. BTW steve doesn't do 160db on music either. Just on test tones at 50-60hz. And he really does not do over 160db as an average db for 30 sec on music. But go look up some Usaci SB runs or visit a national and you will see a handfull out do him on music and thats and average over 30 secs not a spike with a test tone.

I give credit where credit is due. Steve has built some amazing stuff. But the best???? That is something for debate. Specially when you have guys running less power, Less inches and running on the same TL system. Lets see meade in nationals. That would clear it up a bit dont ya think? Seeing as the WR for the pro modified class. The one chickens truck would be in is 173.5 and thats sealed on the dash. Not outlaw style like meade did on TL. with a 161 I dont see it.

Everything fits BARELY lol. Troy didn't want a wall so he did subs up port back. There are 4 18's, a 20cf box, 4 memphis 4kw, and 4-5 optima yellow tops all stuffed in the trunk haha.

yea i already took everything out man my mom was pissed and it took me like 2 weeks to convince her to let me leave it like that but then she realized that its mine anymays so if i messed it up well its on me but going back to the subject what is the ohm recomendation would you think its the best? i was going to have 1 amp for both and in a little while have a amp for each but as of right now the only thing that comes into my mind is the RF T4000/1.
