Hello, My nook, surprisingly, came in version 1.4.0 that I bought at barn and noble two day ago. So I skip to step two and install the Hidden app. I did not have trouble with the nook appearing with the exclamation mark, so I installed the driver. Yet when I try to use zergy, the application does not read my nook. Could any one please explain to me why this happen and how I can fix this problem. thank you

hey i was having trouble with the nook appearing with the exclamation mark. as soon as i uninstall it, it installs back. help? also, will it damage my nook if i just stop the rooting process? thanks for your help (:

Thanks for a great video. My only question is how do I go about replacing my status bar? I like to be able to see Wifi, battery power, the time and also need a "back" softkey rather than pressing the Nook key all the time. Are these just achieved by getting apps or am I missing something in settings?

It took me hours to get past that part with the drivers, as the PC kept updating them as soon as I removed them. For anyone else with this issue, make absolutely sure it is step by step exactly. Even if you think something was done, that MIGHT be the issue. I eventually back-stepped to setting the Debugging a second time and everything seemed to go smoothly after that. So I blame myself. But it is done and beautiful!

I will likely comment once I'm finished, but I felt I HAD to thank you for this. I didn't want to root my NT because it sounded like it might be over my head, but you have put my mind at ease. I'll now read the comments below to see if the following question has been ask/answered already. If so, you needn't answer mine...

I'll use a 1GB SD for the process, then I'll put my 32GB back in. Aside from bloatware removal, will apps & data added before rooting remain (Aldiko, Evernote, etc.)?

Hi, I haven't started the process yet but was curious if the serial number made any difference?? I'm trying to root my mother in laws Nook Tablet running firmware 1.4.0!! When I started researching I found a site that said the easy(soft root) could only be done with serial numbers under 10004.. My serial start with 20149.. Does that matter to follow this video?.

I heard about how ever Android OS has some sort of "recording" program that records EVERYthing you do on it....know of it or ever hear of it? Is there anyway to get rid of it?

Great walk through ! But, android on nook tablet looks awful IMHO. Go launcher (or for that matter any other launchers) is not optimized for big screens.
