It could be the knocking of the valves due to the insufficient oil pressure from the oil pump. After the engine runs for couple of seconds it should go off when the oil reaches valves.
I was wondering if you could tell me something. I have a 1995 Ford Escort GT and on cold start ups, every so often there is a knocking coming from the engine, if I shut the car off and restart it though the knocking goes away. What could be the cause and is it an easy fix? FYI the engine has over 220,000 miles on it. I hope you can help. Great work on that engine by the way. Thanks.
Do you know where to get head studs for a scort?
