he prolly doensnt up the fan speeds. the stock fan speed is at 29% mine is at 50 and it makes a HUGE difference. and my cards have NEVER gone past 70, you also gotta have good case cooling, i have the antec 900 which is great for cooling

It's not wrong, the guy obviously doesn't know how to set up his fans properly. The 8800gt has default fans working at 25% (I think), all you need to do is download Riva Tuner and bring it up so it won't heat up.

Also, he has an antec 900, the airflow is really good in that case, thats another reason why it runs really cold. Some people would argue that a single slot is better because you would then have more room for additional cards, or anything else you would put in the expansion slots.

BFG, XFX and eVGA are all good. I would avoid other brands unless they get good reviews. Anyway eVGA has the step up program, where after getting the card and registering within the 30 day limit you get 90 days to have a chance to send them back the card and get a new card.

They take the price you paid and subtract it from the new card and you pay the difference. If the old card costs more then its a free card.

the EVGA version of the 8800 GT has a faster core clock than the XFX and BFG versions. It might not be much but its about 5-10 MHz higher than the BFG and XFX versions (Depending on the card).

Note like it matters overclocking will still end up with the same results
