  • with the springfeild xdm theres a loaded chamber indicator , so this would be a pointless feture... get a xdm there sweet

  • @dills2403 "hurr durr xd gud not xd bad"

the FNP has a loaded chamber indicator too, so do Glocks and virtually every modern handgun, fuck even 1911's have them now. enjoy your polymer frame "rail".

  • @Otacon237 "hurrr durrreffe you boi!l lmao fnp gooba gooba look ma no hands haha

  • I also have this gun and as far as the question of the video goes i dont need to check my chamber because i never unload my gun just kidding i look and feel

  • You could just rack the slide completely with both hands, and look in the chamber.

  • @killchain187 True, I just did it that way because that's what the "challenge" was. The only problem with racking it completely is that you'll eject the round if there's one chambered.

  • Sweet gun and good video. That decocking switch is badass. Gotta love FN and the intuitive features they create for all of their firearms.

  • I have this exact gun, but i cant find a holster for it.

  • @Casper48022 Yeah same here, maybe they'll make one soon. I hear there are some for other guns that you can adapt to them....check the forums.

  • if you are looking for a conceal carry look at uncle mikes inside the pants size 15

  • @IXISOUTH Oh thanks. Will check it out.

  • Nice gun dude, I think the FNP is a very underated gun

  • I agree, most people don't even know about them. FN is constantly making improvements too so I think in the near future it will become more prominent.

  • i do not like D COCK haha

  • Aw come on, everyone likes some D cock.

  • is the recoil the same as on a .40 glock?

  • Can't say, never fired one. I can't imagine it would be too different as the overall weight and distribution are pretty similar.

The FN has a slightly higher bore axis so maybe it has a bit more.

Recoil on the FNP is hard to describe. It's not super light, but it's smooth and manageable. Not "snappy" like some other pistols I've fired.

  • I see. maybe the fn is better, i've fired the glock .40 and it's snappy not like the push of a .45

  • True.

The cool thing about .40 is that there's both light and heavy loads depending on what you like better. I mostly shoot the heavier Federal 180gr stuff from Walmart, so that's probably why it feels like that.

You might have been shooting the lighter 135gr rounds which are supposedly snappier.

  • Hey, just as an update I did manage to borrow a Glock 27 for a few shots at the range from a gentleman in exchange for a few shots from my FNP. Since I used his ammo I can't really accurately compare the recoil, but he told me they were Winchester target rounds. But anyway, the recoil was practically nil and very controllable (he did have the grip extension). It probably has to do with the lower bore axis of the Glock.

  • I posted a response video to this one showing how I perform a chamber check. Nothing special, just the normal ol' way. I like being able to feel the extractor on my Glock 22 to see if there's a round in chamber, but my 17 and 26 seem to not be as pronounced... they still work OK though. You might have to rely on this functionality if you are in dark conditions. That's why the Glock 22 stays on my nightstand with my Fenix flashlight.

I really love the FNP-40, very nice pistol you have there.

  • Thanks, I like it too. I have a cheapy flashlight, need to get something a bit stronger though. I was thinking one of the FN "tactical" lights to go with the handgun. Or maybe I'll just mount one on the rail.

  • I think a light mounted on the rail of that FN would look nice.

  • Yeah I'm saving up for a weapon light. Not sure if I wanna buy one for each gun, or just buy one expensive one and swap as needed. I like the Surefires but they're EXPENSIVE.

  • I've heard good things about the Streamlight TLR-3, but I've not actually had my hands on one. Surefires are good lights no doubt, but their prices really are a bit high.

  • Same here on the Streamlight. Will post up a video when I do get a light.

  • I will be awaiting the video, as I am interested in a good light as well. Good luck with your search, hope you find a good one.

  • I'm Mc'Lovin all these handgun videos. Do you have any other hand guns?

  • LOL, not yet. I want to get a 1911 though.

  • Nice gun man. Is it me or are those Glo-sights?

  • Nah, they're the standard three-dot sights. I am planning on getting night sights, need to save up a bit though (they're around $100 dollars).

  • sweet pistol.

  • Thanks! I like it too.
