So soulful-the Spinners should be proud of this most excellent cover of their classic song. Keep playing it over and over listening for each nuance. Thanks for sharing
When I went and saw the our kind of soul tour I couldn't sit still. The whole arena was dancing. Thanks for bringing back the memory. They did such a great job with this and all the songs on that CD.
People they wrote this song, there's a dvd with them singing the famous songs they wrote. my dad has it and it great. I'm 24 and proud to say im a old school kid.
@footballref4 - I think this was done filmed for Bravo... I think the DVD associated with the concert is called Our Kind of Soul (Live)... circa 2005 I think.
Well, I am a huge Spinners fan and I think that gorgeous thick soul sound is hard to cover, but Hall & Oates nailed it. Hard to believe I have been listening to these two for more than 30 years. and they still blow me away. amazing.
@BiBo24 dont know, but do you know that this is a cover song? I was at a club and the band that was there played this song, and I had a chance to talk to the singer, and to much of my surprise, he told me that the song belonged to the Spinners! I love Hall and Oates but I felt I was cheated.
@Holiwuudh Hell yea, I knew it was a cover, this is one of my all time favorite songs. I've always loved the Spinners, they had a number of great songs. But I do love Hall and Oates cover versions. I assume you know about "LivefromdarylshouseDOTcom"? If not, you should check it out, tons of great performances!
When I first heard this H & O salute to Soul I thought that the Spinners had redone this song. Excellant cover from the boys of blue eyed soul. Check out H & O Melody for a Memory, in my opinion the best combination of layered vocals and instrumentals ever. Kudos youtubers. Keep the music alive.

you know? cover some other song..but how dare you taking a classic and convert into shit? how dare you take a TSOP CLASSIC and just ruine it? F u Hall and oates!
@elsoda You obviously don't know who Hall and Oates are. They have numerous classics themselves. And this is a pretty darn good version. Better than the Spinners are doing these days (check out the David Letterman video of them).
listen, i saw hall and oates in concert back in 1986 when i was 10 or so years old. THEY DO HAVE HITS AND THEY ARE VERY GOOD HITS....but i am fucking sorry..this cover is garbage. and yes, i saw david lettermans' the spinners show and yes, they are old and didnt sound good..BUT STILL....
@BIGBUCK20 What I love is that they do great covers as well as their own music.. And its refreshing to hear them do other music. Great musicians.. For them to appreciate other great musicians and their talent.. Stand up kinda guys.. They rock.
