hello to all.....my wife and i went to school with debbie. i am tring to find were i can buy prints of her work for my wife. any help? bakkenbunch@yahoo.com
I'm still shocked man... I just can't believe it. I work with her and her team in Mexico when shooting for brides magazine, she was amazing as a photographer as she was as a person, we all travel around looking for the best spots to shot, she was all the time great, fun, hilarious and committed to her work, I always remember that last night at pancho's celebrating the end of an intensive job and the last photo film at the beach. Some of the pictures are shown in this memorial video... so sad!
I just had a dreamed of Debra last nite. So I decided to google her website and found this video. I am shocked and saddened. She used to assist me when I had a photo studio in Palo Alto CA during the 1990's. I will miss her easy laughter, her enthusiasm for life, and the sweetness of her being.
Dear Debra, I am sitting here expressing my loss and needing to (finally) release to an empty entity. I lacked the courage to do this during your celebration of life. I put my empty hand out to you tonight wishing you could grab it one last time. Thank you for blessing me for a few short years with your presence. I enjoyed every moment! Even the 29 hour days with no lunch. I wish this could have continued. . . . .
I am shocked and SO saddened to get this news. Deb shot photos of me and my family last year for Real Simple magazine. She truly was a ray of light. My prayers go out to her husband and daughter, whom she spoke of fondly while she was in our home. I know her shining spirit will be with you always. -Cheryl
Deb and I were friends back in Chapel Hill. I visited her several times in Santa Barbara and San Francisco, and we travelled to Europe together in 1993. We lost touch and I wanted to find her again, only to find out this shocking and horrible news. I am so saddened by her loss. She was such a special person, someone who just lit up a room. Why did I wait so long to get back in touch? I always thought we would meet again. I feel so sad for her family, especially her daughter.
The world has lost some of it's light. I met Debra & Tony back around 92. Two of the most beautiful people you would ever meet. Although Deb and I had grown apart a few years ago, I thought of her often. Tony, if you every read these, please know that Kai & I are holding you and little Frankie Ray in our hearts.
I worked with Debra last year in New York modeling for brides magazine. I just found out yesterday that Debra had passed. I am shocked and so sad. She was an amazing photographer. So wonderful to work with. She had such a sweet soul. I still carry her beautiful pictures around in my portfolio. My thoughts and prayers go out to all her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all the lives she has touched...
My thoughts go out to her family and especially to (little) Frankie for their loss. May they find some solace to know just how important and special she was to so many people.
Your tribute to her is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen and you captured her and her spirit perfectly. Of course it made me cry like a baby (I'm still having a hard time typing with the tears in my eyes) to know that the world is a little sadder and a little less wonderful now that she is no longer part of it.
I just heard about this last night and I am still in shock...with the worst part being not knowing why?
I worked with Debra for years as her black and white printer when I lived in SF, and she quickly became one of my favorite people, both in the quality and beauty of her work and in her person. She was an incredible woman and always had a smile on her face and a song in her heart. [continued next comment]
I have worked with Debra many times and her luminous presence was ever present during each and every photoshoot. A beautiful soul, an incredibly talented woman... a kind spirit She will be greatly missed Thank you for creating this homage that captures her every being. I can still hear her saying "smIyle" with a 'y' and then the click of the camera. She will be greatly missed. Kevin Reiner
I knew Debbie growing up and we were pretty close in high school. She was luminous; probably the most popular of the popular girls, cheerleader, the whole bit, but treated absolutely everyone as if they were the most important person in the world. Never heard her say a mean word about anyone. I haven't seen her in 20 years and my heart aches knowing she is no longer shining her light on the world.

I don't know Debbie; nor have I heard of her until today. All I can say.... I wish I did.
This was a beautiful tribute to, no doubt, a beautiful soul.
I feel for her family and friends but mostly I feel for her daughter.
