  • Hey guys .. Can pedal DW-9002 converted into two single pedals? I can not find it anywhere .. and the picture I can not identify. I will wait for a response..

    Thanks.

  • can someone tell me how to tighten the spring tension!!

  • I thought it was a review about the pedal not the case...

  • I lost the stud so I don't have anything for reference. :(

  • Hey, my vertical clamp stud broke ( To attach the pedal to the bass drum). Can anyone PLEASE tell me the diameter and length of the stud so that I can countersink a replacement.

  • I want that golf towel.

  • @85Aheadstix You can't judge a book by its cover...

  • wow! Thank you! exactly what I was looking for! I just purchased a dw 9000 and, in spite of being almost set, I wondered with some adjustments! great video

  • Really nice review.

  • lol he said unloosen every time

  • My friend let me have a go of his 9000 single. My jaw dropped, such a natural feel. Im getting one when i win the lottery!

  • @dreamopeth what a jerk you are!!!!!

  • @demonscleaner Errrr I am actually getting one btw I was joking you silly boy.

  • @SnareMasta2011 Id go speed cobras easily!, ive ried em and they just look like they would be so much faster and and respnsive, the Speed cobras even got a better rating than the Demon drive.

  • Comment removed

  • @85Aheadstix Yeah i was talking to the pearl guys and even they said that the Speed cobras are better and more responsive than the Demon drivers.

  • People complain about the price, but i got mine on amazon for $449. only about a hundred or so dollars more than the 5000's.

  • It still looks really bulky and really slow and heavy, those beaters are huge!.

Im glad i went with the Iron cobras with Cobra coil and power glide with Wooden beaters, so much more faster, smoother and punchier.

  • @85Aheadstix Ur not gonna complain about a pedal for the beaters!? If u dont like the DW beaters but love the pedeal itself, wich u'll do when u'll play it, u just have to change the beaters. The DW system is way better than the Tamma one, and this is just facts.

  • @carton775 Pfft!, what?!?!?, serious??, it looks tuggy and slow and that beater would just slow it down even more!, i doubt its better then then speed cobra, or even the Iron cobra with power glide and Cobra coil.

But anyway please explain how its faster and smoother than the Cobra.

  • @SnareMasta2011 the two of them are great.. i think if you want speed i think you should buy speed cobras but if you want pedals for light music dw but in not saying the two of them are great for both things its only my point of view

  • DW GOLF TOWEL FTW!!!!

  • Fuck this music!!!!

  • very detailed, great overview!!

could you tell me the main difference to the 5000's ?

is it another delta bearing used?

  • awesome pedal!

  • Great review but why have that awful music distracting the viewer.

  • DW Golf Towel - $150

  • I have the axis, I play metal... Have had them for 2 years, never found a setting I was comfortable with... with solid balance between slow and fast... They have broke down 3 times until this last show... The whole heel plate bolt broke off on them... So done with axis. Looking at an alternative.

  • @KevyDoom253 Speed cobras!, incredible!

  • God, i'm torn between 9000s or Axis. I have no clue which one to get, they're both good. Someone help me?

  • @ultraray20 i just got the axis i tell ya i don't love it, its a bit difficult to use and its not the best if your looking to be a very well rounded drummer

  • @ultraray20 9000 is the way to go. its sturdy it has great features, and it lasts a drummer's lifetime.

playing it is like stepping on a cloud and the reaction is super quick. I'd go with dw 9000

  • BIND, TORTURE, KILL!!!!

  • fuck yeah Suffocation!

  • lol i hear as blod runs black my fears

have became fobias...an of the fastest double boss bpm

  • JEREMY MCKINNON!!!

  • heyyy mann thankss for thiss review i just got this and i dident know what to doo doo hahahaha

  • Great review!

  • Hi there, I really like your pedal review, but I have a question, do you know if the pedal can covert from double bass pedal to two individual bass pedals, as the 5000 model does?

  • How much are these ?

  • @Coversforchrist I personally think that the demon drives are good but don't have enough punch. But yes! They are amazing pedals!

  • im not saying their bad pedals though they are really good

  • the 9000's arnent worth the money iron cobra's are so much better for your money and you can adjust EVERYTHING!

  • unloosening? not a word...

  • @MTRITTS Unlooesening by my logic it means tighten right? So tighten to loosen? Good advice if you ask me.

  • Gawd Damn! Why wouldnt you just buy another bass drum for that amount of money?

  • DW9000 or Axis A21 Longboards?

  • @MrVengeance1984 I've gone through both, and I'd say Axis if you really want speed. Go with dw if you want a more solid and powerful feel.

  • whats the name of the song in the background?

  • you can make them into two seperate pedals right?

  • Tried this pedal out today at Samash music store and I must say it was pretty smooth.

  • dont the plastic sides of the beaters like tear up the drum head a lot faster? thats just what ive heard

  • @johnishable yes

  • ive played these before actually in my video check it out its not the best i know but i was using different epuipment than usual i think if i got these pedals i would have to change the spring tension to somewhat tigh but somewhat smooth i really liked the pedals but i wasnt used to them :)

  • Good review, but Pearl Demon Drives are the way to go in my opinion. Fully customisable to fit how you play. So smooth, just the best pedals ive ever played with. Worth the extra cash. Go for the Demon Drives!! :)

  • unloosen?

  • We could do without the "noise" in the background.

  • @XDrummerSteve u mean metal... go listen to your justin bieber -.-

  • @2fAsTDeAtHPuNcH it's pretty annoying... I don't want any music in the background... especially metal. It's so much more intense than most music which makes it way more obnoxious as background music. But like I said any bakcground music here is really annoying.

  • @XDrummerSteve mute button

  • Great review! Thanks man.

  • I don't know you guys(and girls), but I prefer dw 9000 to Tama iron cobra

  • good review, those pedals have a huge footprint though, they take up heaps of room

  • Im pretty sure its a cam not a fucking rotor.

  • @moosedrummer1 Dw call the pedal a 'floating rotor pedal'

  • dang seriously? this double bass pedal sucks bit hard hairy donkey nuts, in my suggestion, you should use a yamaha single pedal.

  • when u play on the pedal, does it feel heavy and had to play on?

  • I'm deciding to get either the Tama Iron Cobra or this DW 9000.

Someone please explain to me which is better and the price tag too.

  • @IntakeDeathification the Dw9000 is much more expensive than the Iron Cobra and it depends on your own taste. Personally i like the DW9000 :D

  • @IntakeDeathification well i played the cobras for a yr, but they started feeling too heavy and sluggish for me, i mean still way smoother than a cheapo pedal but non the less heavy. i have tried out the 9000's at stores before many times and have actually just bought a pair yesterday, but have yet to try them out on my kit. but from what ive played on them before, they are way smoother and nicer. just replace the driveshaft with the axis unviversal one. pricing: cobra=379, 9002=550 or 500.

  • is the dw 9002?

  • Song is bind, torture, kill by suffocation

  • "unloosen" AKA "tighten"

  • ITS OVER 9000!

  • the spring can crack easily??

  • @legault56

i dont think so, you dont pay 600 - 700 dollars for a pedal with low quality springs.

  • Hey mang, I just picked up these pedals about 2 weeks ago. I noticed my slave feels a bit stiff. It stops way sooner than the master. They came set at almost full spring tension. Any tips on how to fix this? I know they won't be exactly even but I'd like to get them fairly close. Thanks

  • is that an iron shaft?

    thats what she said!

  • can you have it set up as a double pedal and still use it as a single?

  • And the 5000's I have had were the single chain version. That will tell ya how old they are. I got them used. Lasted ten years and thousands of hours playing on them. So I am not worries about the 9002's as far as reliability goes. And whoever posted about people breaking a dw footboard in half that is nuts. You would have to weigh 500+lbs and be jumping off ur throne tons that. Learn proper technique. As long as they are played properly no footboard of any bass drum pedal will break in half.

  • I purchased the dw9002 double pedals today. They are one heck of an upgrade from the dw5000 s I have had for the past ten years. I had no idea how crappy my old pedals were until the moment I set the dw9002 s up on my kit. They are so smooth and the numerous adjustments you can make are easy. I was able to dial in the perfect amount of resistance in the springs along with beater angle and footboard height. I played on some pearl demon drives and the tama speed cobras and the dw9002's were by fa

  • 04:29 "Unloosen"? 04:39 "Unloosening"? 05:23 "Unloosening"? 06:46 "Unloosen"? lol

  • i really want these double pedals i got some tama's they just arnt for me.

  • OMG IT SPINS!!! @_@

i just had to say it im sorry

  • I just got one of these a few months ago. I still use a single for gigging. So far I like it but it is essentially still just a kick drum pedal. I also have a Pearl Eliminator, a Tama Iron Cobra power glide, a DW 5000 Turbo, and an Axis Longboard. I have 5 drum sets so I need multiple pedals. My favorite for feel is still the Iron Cobra. Just my opinion.

  • they're too smooth i like a bit of resistance

  • Comment removed

  • i love the way he says 2 plastic latches at 00.25!LMFAO!!!

  • best pedals!

  • My right pedal bounces alot and my left is completely dead and barely comes up, it is stopping me from playing fast, and it is in working condition and only 7 years old, I have new springs and have gone through all the settings, how would you recomend fixing this?

    Trevor

  • @CrawfordDrummer I have the same damn problem! If you find a solution before i do, let me know and vice versa :)

  • @Adamski986 My solution might be buying demon drives, you can get them for about $450 on ebay probably less if you wait

  • he kinda sounds canadian doesent he??? small accent ??? or maby colorado??? haha

  • he kinda sounds canadian doesent he??? small accent ???

  • ok so i have these cheap 2x bass pedals but i was looking for how i could adjust the beater so that its closer to the bass drum...ive been looking everywhere but it would be nice if someone told me on here thanks :)

  • Suffocation \m/

  • So can you actually make two single pedals out of these?

  • Hey man great review. For a single pedal should I get this the DW 7000PT or the DW 5000AD3 Accelerator Chain-Drive Single Pedal?

  • dw's are just sick man! awesome review!

  • how many inches is the foot board ?

  • @CJMdrummer666 From the tip to the hinge is 9 3/4 inches. All the way to the back of the heel plate is 12 3/4 inches. Rock!

  • @flagstamp is that from chain to hinge or chain to the end of the heel plate ?

  • Iron Cobras are so much easier to adjust.... everything adjusts independently. the foot board angle doesn't effect the spring tension or the beater position. They may not be as smooth as DW9002 but they're much more customizable and durable.

  • @ThrowingItAway Not really

  • wasnt it a pain in the ass o mess the pedal's settings for the vid and then having to adjust them again to how you wanted them? haha

  • i dnt have time to go into a shop and try out pedals... nd i need to know pretty soon which pedal to get... i know that dw9000 cant really go wrong... but tama iron cobras ive herd are pretty awesome too... plus i can buy a pair of zildjan hats with the money i dnt spend on a dw... but is it worth buying dw over iron cobras or any other pedal? HELP!

  • I own a DW 4000 double pedal since It's all I can afford. I can't believe how adjustable the 9000 is compared to my 4000! When I watched this video I was sitting here going "WTF?!?!". Is this pedal really worth it's price tag?

  • my only complaint is your frequent use of unloosen. unloosen = tighten.

  • Which pedal is better this one or the pearl eliminators?

  • @sausage92173 Iron cobra they are sick pedals

  • @sausage92173 pearl eliminators are pretty sweet, but if i was going to switch i would go to Axis longs or the new Axis A21's. .

  • I own these pedals, they are nice but they have a major flaw - they have moved the springs from the outside ( on the 5000 ) to the inside on the 9000. If you play with your foot anywhere near the top of the board or if you have long or wide feet you will find your shoe constantly running into the springs. This is a real problem for me. I may go back to my 5000 setup or drill though the board and install a toe stop very far back. I am really surprised DW overlooked this.Big feet beware

  • I just traded my 9002's for the new Tama SpeedCobra's (newer version of the Iron Cobras) and they are the best things that I have ever played (between all DW, old Iron Cobras, Axis and Pearl DD & Eliminators). But it is all personal preference.

  • the hinges on case will will break

  • Hey what's up my name is Dylan I'm 13 years old and live in ALB. NM. I've been playing drums since I was 4 and I'm in a band now I don't get much money from anything (I'm broke) and have no pedals so if anyone has ANY extra pedals it will be greatly appreciated.... ANY pedals means piece of crap pedals or cheap pedals single pedals or double pedals...so if you have that please send me pm... Thanks me and my band would love that.XxInFeRnAl LiVInG DeAdxX

  • thats awesome. btw, i am about to buy the DW 9000 or the iron cobra HP900PSW i can decide. i need opinions about this. which one is better? (i play metal)

  • @artachira dw's

  • love the review thanks man!

  • dw 9000 or axis???

  • becarefull when leave'n the pedals in this case becuase the plastic just like a bottle of water builds and holds in any moister in the air at the time due to cracks in the seem i got rusted beater shafts and spring polly sorry for spelling it 4 am :)

  • this pedals sexy :)

  • Dude that song in the backround has some mad double bass

  • Getting mine in 2 days or so. :)

  • Idunno if their worth 500$? But they are nice

  • he didnt cram it in all under 10 minutes

  • good review but you keep saying unloosen the bolts lol.. . otherwise good stuff

  • i want to order some off ebay but i live in canada. and im probably gonna have to pay duty fee's once it comes to the border :(

  • They're so beautiful. Step one: new drum kit. Step two this pedal.

  • on my dw9002, the slave pedal's footboard doesnt go low as the master pedal even though the slave's footboard is set to the lowest possible setting.

does this mean i should return it to DW and get a replacement?

  • Is it worth getting this as a single pedal or is it really personal preference?

  • good luck payying 900 $ 4 them :)

  • I'm seriously thinking about getting a pair. I currently have the 5000 (had them for 3 years) and still can't find a comfortable position...

Great review. You basically sold it to me :D

  • @bass6352

Matt Greiner from August Burns Red uses DW 9002's. I play Metalcore also and used to use Iron Cobras, but now have 9002's. Both are awesome, I prefer the 9002's still.

  • @asylumx502 hahaha, i love how everyone mentions Matt :)

  • i went to guitat center and they had the a dw pedal i dont remember wat it was but the right pedal took no effort to push down so i did the same with the left pedal but it was alot harder than the right and my dads bands drummers dw pedal is super bouncy like it hits my feet wen i played it

  • im in the market for getting a new double bass pedal and i can't decide between these pedalsn, dw5000 and iron cobras what should i get i play music like august burns red

  • @bass6352 I have Iron Cobras. they're easier to adjust foot pedal and beater angle since they're totally independent. There are numerous cases of heavy players snapping 9000 foot boards in half, unlike ICs. The 9000s will be smoother cause everything has bearings on it but are less durable than ICs and cost more.

  • I think he said UNloosening. Wouldn't that technically mean tightening? lol just kidding

  • great video man, but do you think that this pedal is the best or is there another one better?

  • I can't get mine to give me enough kick back - it feels like they're almost too light you know? I have Iron Cobras I use now and they're heavy and have major kick back. I play punk so I like to do doubles with my right foot and I can't get them to sound clean or loud on the DW's. It just feels too light. Any suggestions I can try out before I sell 'em? If interested I'm selling for $200.00 - markeschell @ gmail . com

  • "quick" overview?

  • I bought the pedals in a box, in the case hahaha!! it was weird...but these pedals are fucking amazing!! I got em a few days ago and they feel so awesome daaang

  • hey great review man, im having a problem though on the tension. how are you supposed to properly adjust the tension? thanks

  • @fireboi55 The spring tension is all personal taste. As a starting point I went with a loose spring adjustment because I don't like to feel any tension. If I have to push down much more than just the weight of my leg I'm working too hard. Aside from that I kept the board in a kind of middle height area and let the beaters ride back a good distance from the head. Even though they're set up light to the touch, there's enough power there to break heads.

  • @Drumz4Life22 The beaters are reversible. Plastic side for more attack, felt side for more warmth.

  • @flagstamp exactly

  • @Drumz4Life22 dumbass

  • @Drumz4Life22 wow

  • i think the beaters are back wards

  • @NYorkR24 Duh.

  • @NYorkR24 haha!! like bisexuals, they go both ways (forward or backwards)...I have mine backwards cuz they punch you in the fuckin face that way...it's loud as hell like that...but ya man depends on your preference

  • yep it is suffocation (blind, torture, kill) :-)

  • Please tell me the song, thanks.

  • @MakTheSank It's BTK(Bind, torture, kill) by Suffocation.

  • @flagstamp Thank you very much and yea i think this double bass pedal is REALLY nice :)

  • Only problem i have is the springs are inpossible to tighten they should really fix that, and its impossible to get the left pedal to have the same bounce as the right side

  • @CrawfordDrummer agreed

  • Thanks for the info!

I JUST got one of these tonight -- so this vid is helpful indeed! I am replacing a (very sentimental) accelerator 5000 that I bought in '91!! Believe me when I say that my old 5000 has been through 1000's of shows! I have held on to it for so long b/c it remained perfectly balanced...for me. Never been too impressed with other pedals, and preferred old 'trusty'. It's day has sadly come - and I hope the 9000 can be dialed in similar and last another couple decades!

  • @aaronled I know how you feel man. I think that many drummers, including myself, tend to be borderline superstitious when it comes to pedals and a lot of us search for a familiar feel in new pedals. The 9000's are definitely east to settle into. I pretty much stayed with the factory settings because out of the box they felt great. I hope they work out for you.

  • I actually bought a Iron Cobra chrome double pedal and I gotta say..its not that good so I bought the DW9000 double and it is alot easier to play with, then again it is a personal choice of mine.I'm just saying that the DW is a really good pedal, you get good rebound and if you relax you actually get more power out of it, of course it depends on technique but overall its really cool and has made bassdrum playing easier at least for me

  • ownage double bass but its the most expensive 1 u can get

  • the slave feels so unsmooth that it feels like i have a dw5000 as a slave

is it suppose to be like this?

  • I have an axis longboard but iam dissapointed with them and im thinking about getting one of these, would it be a good choice?
