Hey guys .. Can pedal DW-9002 converted into two single pedals? I can not find it anywhere .. and the picture I can not identify. I will wait for a response..
Hey, my vertical clamp stud broke ( To attach the pedal to the bass drum). Can anyone PLEASE tell me the diameter and length of the stud so that I can countersink a replacement.

@SnareMasta2011 Id go speed cobras easily!, ive ried em and they just look like they would be so much faster and and respnsive, the Speed cobras even got a better rating than the Demon drive.
@85Aheadstix Ur not gonna complain about a pedal for the beaters!? If u dont like the DW beaters but love the pedeal itself, wich u'll do when u'll play it, u just have to change the beaters. The DW system is way better than the Tamma one, and this is just facts.

I have the axis, I play metal... Have had them for 2 years, never found a setting I was comfortable with... with solid balance between slow and fast... They have broke down 3 times until this last show... The whole heel plate bolt broke off on them... So done with axis. Looking at an alternative.
@ultraray20 i just got the axis i tell ya i don't love it, its a bit difficult to use and its not the best if your looking to be a very well rounded drummer

ive played these before actually in my video check it out its not the best i know but i was using different epuipment than usual i think if i got these pedals i would have to change the spring tension to somewhat tigh but somewhat smooth i really liked the pedals but i wasnt used to them :)
Good review, but Pearl Demon Drives are the way to go in my opinion. Fully customisable to fit how you play. So smooth, just the best pedals ive ever played with. Worth the extra cash. Go for the Demon Drives!! :)
@2fAsTDeAtHPuNcH it's pretty annoying... I don't want any music in the background... especially metal. It's so much more intense than most music which makes it way more obnoxious as background music. But like I said any bakcground music here is really annoying.
@IntakeDeathification well i played the cobras for a yr, but they started feeling too heavy and sluggish for me, i mean still way smoother than a cheapo pedal but non the less heavy. i have tried out the 9000's at stores before many times and have actually just bought a pair yesterday, but have yet to try them out on my kit. but from what ive played on them before, they are way smoother and nicer. just replace the driveshaft with the axis unviversal one. pricing: cobra=379, 9002=550 or 500.
Hey mang, I just picked up these pedals about 2 weeks ago. I noticed my slave feels a bit stiff. It stops way sooner than the master. They came set at almost full spring tension. Any tips on how to fix this? I know they won't be exactly even but I'd like to get them fairly close. Thanks
And the 5000's I have had were the single chain version. That will tell ya how old they are. I got them used. Lasted ten years and thousands of hours playing on them. So I am not worries about the 9002's as far as reliability goes. And whoever posted about people breaking a dw footboard in half that is nuts. You would have to weigh 500+lbs and be jumping off ur throne tons that. Learn proper technique. As long as they are played properly no footboard of any bass drum pedal will break in half.

I just got one of these a few months ago. I still use a single for gigging. So far I like it but it is essentially still just a kick drum pedal. I also have a Pearl Eliminator, a Tama Iron Cobra power glide, a DW 5000 Turbo, and an Axis Longboard. I have 5 drum sets so I need multiple pedals. My favorite for feel is still the Iron Cobra. Just my opinion.
My right pedal bounces alot and my left is completely dead and barely comes up, it is stopping me from playing fast, and it is in working condition and only 7 years old, I have new springs and have gone through all the settings, how would you recomend fixing this?

Iron Cobras are so much easier to adjust.... everything adjusts independently. the foot board angle doesn't effect the spring tension or the beater position. They may not be as smooth as DW9002 but they're much more customizable and durable.
i dnt have time to go into a shop and try out pedals... nd i need to know pretty soon which pedal to get... i know that dw9000 cant really go wrong... but tama iron cobras ive herd are pretty awesome too... plus i can buy a pair of zildjan hats with the money i dnt spend on a dw... but is it worth buying dw over iron cobras or any other pedal? I own a DW 4000 double pedal since It's all I can afford. I can't believe how adjustable the 9000 is compared to my 4000! When I watched this video I was sitting here going "WTF?!?!". Is this pedal really worth it's price tag?
I own these pedals, they are nice but they have a major flaw - they have moved the springs from the outside ( on the 5000 ) to the inside on the 9000. If you play with your foot anywhere near the top of the board or if you have long or wide feet you will find your shoe constantly running into the springs. This is a real problem for me. I may go back to my 5000 setup or drill though the board and install a toe stop very far back. I am really surprised DW overlooked this.Big feet beware
I just traded my 9002's for the new Tama SpeedCobra's (newer version of the Iron Cobras) and they are the best things that I have ever played (between all DW, old Iron Cobras, Axis and Pearl DD & Eliminators). But it is all personal preference.

Matt Greiner from August Burns Red uses DW 9002's. I play Metalcore also and used to use Iron Cobras, but now have 9002's. Both are awesome, I prefer the 9002's still.
i went to guitat center and they had the a dw pedal i dont remember wat it was but the right pedal took no effort to push down so i did the same with the left pedal but it was alot harder than the right and my dads bands drummers dw pedal is super bouncy like it hits my feet wen i played it

@bass6352 I have Iron Cobras. they're easier to adjust foot pedal and beater angle since they're totally independent. There are numerous cases of heavy players snapping 9000 foot boards in half, unlike ICs. The 9000s will be smoother cause everything has bearings on it but are less durable than ICs and cost more.
I can't get mine to give me enough kick back - it feels like they're almost too light you know? I have Iron Cobras I use now and they're heavy and have major kick back. I play punk so I like to do doubles with my right foot and I can't get them to sound clean or loud on the DW's. It just feels too light. Any suggestions I can try out before I sell 'em? @fireboi55 The spring tension is all personal taste. As a starting point I went with a loose spring adjustment because I don't like to feel any tension. If I have to push down much more than just the weight of my leg I'm working too hard. Aside from that I kept the board in a kind of middle height area and let the beaters ride back a good distance from the head. Even though they're set up light to the touch, there's enough power there to break heads.
@NYorkR24 haha!! like bisexuals, they go both ways (forward or backwards)...I have mine backwards cuz they punch you in the fuckin face that way...it's loud as hell like that...but ya man depends on your preference
Only problem i have is the springs are inpossible to tighten they should really fix that, and its impossible to get the left pedal to have the same bounce as the right side
I JUST got one of these tonight -- so this vid is helpful indeed! I am replacing a (very sentimental) accelerator 5000 that I bought in '91!! Believe me when I say that my old 5000 has been through 1000's of shows! I have held on to it for so long b/c it remained perfectly balanced...for me. Never been too impressed with other pedals, and preferred old 'trusty'. It's day has sadly come - and I hope the 9000 can be dialed in similar and last another couple decades!
@aaronled I know how you feel man. I think that many drummers, including myself, tend to be borderline superstitious when it comes to pedals and a lot of us search for a familiar feel in new pedals. The 9000's are definitely east to settle into. I pretty much stayed with the factory settings because out of the box they felt great. I hope they work out for you.
I actually bought a Iron Cobra chrome double pedal and I gotta say..its not that good so I bought the DW9000 double and it is alot easier to play with,then again it is a personal choice of mine.I'm just saying that the DW is a really good pedal,you get good rebound and if you relax you actually get more power out of it, of course it depends on technique but overall its really cool and has made bassdrum playing easier at least for me

It still looks really bulky and really slow and heavy, those beaters are huge!.
Im glad i went with the Iron cobras with Cobra coil and power glide with Wooden beaters, so much more faster, smoother and punchier.

If you play with your foot anywhere near the top of the board or if you have long or wide feet you will find your shoe constantly running into the springs. This is a real problem for me. I may go back to my 5000 setup or drill though the board and install a toe stop very far back. I am really surprised DW overlooked this.Big feet beware

I just traded my 9002's for the new Tama SpeedCobra's (newer version of the Iron Cobras) and they are the best things that I have ever played (between all DW, old Iron Cobras, Axis and Pearl DD & Eliminators). But it is all personal preference.

becarefull when leave'n the pedals in this case becuase the plastic just like a bottle of water builds and holds in any moister in the air at the time due to cracks in the seem i got rusted beater shafts and spring polly sorry for spelling it 4 am :)

on my dw9002, the slave pedal's footboard doesnt go low as the master pedal even though the slave's footboard is set to the lowest possible setting.
does this mean i should return it to DW and get a replacement?

Matt Greiner from August Burns Red uses DW 9002's. I play Metalcore also and used to use Iron Cobras, but now have 9002's. Both are awesome, I prefer the 9002's still.

i went to guitat center and they had the a dw pedal i dont remember wat it was but the right pedal took no effort to push down so i did the same with the left pedal but it was alot harder than the right and my dads bands drummers dw pedal is super bouncy like it hits my feet wen i played it

@bass6352 I have Iron Cobras. they're easier to adjust foot pedal and beater angle since they're totally independent. There are numerous cases of heavy players snapping 9000 foot boards in half, unlike ICs. The 9000s will be smoother cause everything has bearings on it but are less durable than ICs and cost more.

I can't get mine to give me enough kick back - it feels like they're almost too light you know? I have Iron Cobras I use now and they're heavy and have major kick back. I play punk so I like to do doubles with my right foot and I can't get them to sound clean or loud on the DW's. It just feels too light. Any suggestions I can try out before I sell 'em? @fireboi55 The spring tension is all personal taste. As a starting point I went with a loose spring adjustment because I don't like to feel any tension. If I have to push down much more than just the weight of my leg I'm working too hard. Aside from that I kept the board in a kind of middle height area and let the beaters ride back a good distance from the head. Even though they're set up light to the touch, there's enough power there to break heads.

Only problem i have is the springs are inpossible to tighten they should really fix that, and its impossible to get the left pedal to have the same bounce as the right side

I JUST got one of these tonight -- so this vid is helpful indeed! I am replacing a (very sentimental) accelerator 5000 that I bought in '91!! Believe me when I say that my old 5000 has been through 1000's of shows! I have held on to it for so long b/c it remained perfectly balanced...for me. Never been too impressed with other pedals, and preferred old 'trusty'. It's day has sadly come - and I hope the 9000 can be dialed in similar and last another couple decades!

@aaronled I know how you feel man. I think that many drummers, including myself, tend to be borderline superstitious when it comes to pedals and a lot of us search for a familiar feel in new pedals. The 9000's are definitely east to settle into. I pretty much stayed with the factory settings because out of the box they felt great. I hope they work out for you.

I actually bought a Iron Cobra chrome double pedal and I gotta say..its not that good so I bought the DW9000 double and it is alot easier to play with,then again it is a personal choice of mine.I'm just saying that the DW is a really good pedal,you get good rebound and if you relax you actually get more power out of it, of course it depends on technique but overall its really cool and has made bassdrum playing easier at least for me
