  • Great sounding room since the renovation finished. Wish it had a few more digital pre's but lots of fun and one of my favorite places to track drums. I see Bil Vorndick there too. Theres a Neve VR coming in a year or too!

  • It looks a lot bigger in person.

  • @oavelasco that's what she said

  • There was the 5th Avenue and The Rex. As a child, my husband, Bob Moore, worked as an usher at both theatres. The REX had COWBOY movies which he simply loved. Later in life, he had opportunity to attended the world series at Dodger Stadium as a guest of Gene Autry. He recorded albums with Tex Williams, Rex Allen and Roy Rogers. These experiences touched Bob's heart all the more deeply as these gentlemen were his childhood heros. He'd first seen them on the big screen at The REX.

  • I came back to your video this morning, and was reminiscing about those days mentioned in my response video. I can remember sitting on the black couch watching the session. When I recorded my session we only had a 3 track Ampex. One other bit of information. I produced Dean Dillons first Nashville session. Not at the Quonset Hut, but over at Mercury Studios.

  • I produced an independent recording session at the Quonset Hut in the 60's when it was owned by Columbia. I have sent you a video response to this video about a Tex Ritter session.

  • @ockteby - Hey Frank - - did the studio still have Karlson speakers at the time or had they been replaced? Best, Freddy

  • @gnativerson Altec Lansing

  • @ockteby - thanks - regarding Altec VOTT, that's what I saw in later pictures. Do you know anyone who would know the earlier monitors - say 1961 and back?
