@themccrimmon Sure, go ahead. Just remember to credit the music separately if you use the audio track, as the music isn't mine. See the description for who to credit for the audio.
You can use the video as long as you credit me (don't ask for the original as the file is huge), but you'll have to either remove the music or credit it separately.
I used POVRay, and like any other scene made with it, I just typed up a few kilobytes of scene code. This scene streamlines things by using the programming features of the language.
If you want extruded text, POVRay has built-in support for TrueType fonts. There's actually a text object as part of the scene description language. I suppose I could use a difference operation to make masks that go over a solid-coloured backing. The downside is that the rendering times would skyrocket whenever the TARDIS is in view.
Making the TARDIS follow the same path as the camera would be easy. Making it move off that path and still staying inside the tunnel, much harder. I think I may need to use a couple more splines for controlling the movement and rotation of the TARDIS. First, however, I'm going to have to make a TARDIS to go in the tunnel, and that's going to be a tedious task, not to mention I have no idea how to get text onto it without using external textures.
Just a few kilobytes of POVRay scene code. I actually used the programming capabilities of the language in these animations as both the layers of the tunnel and the path for the camera need to use the same points. POVRay may not be the easiest program to learn how to use, but it's pretty hard to forget how to use it.
I've been planning on making a TARDIS model to go in the tunnel, but I just haven't gotten around to building it. Working out a way to keep it inside the tunnel would be the tough part. Actually making the model would just be tedious.
No tweaking the music on my part. I don't know anything about composing music.
Check the about section on this page for the composer and name of the music used. The music can be obtained from Whomix, a site with lots of Doctor Who theme remixes. If you like the remix, drop the composer a compliment.
can i please use this awesome effect in a couple of my vids if i credit you?

@theMindRobber1 and can i edit it a bit too?

@theMindRobber1 I'd be surprised if anyone who uses this doesn't make some edits. Chances are that it's longer than needed for most projects, anyway.

@Roxor128 cool, i'll totally give you credit!

which tools did you use in premiere to create the sequence ?
Orathac 2 years ago
Just the timeline and the media exporter. That's all.
Roxor128 2 years ago
could you send me this AVI file?
Quinklong 3 years ago
I don't have this in AVI format. This upload was an MPEG video file. Resolution: 512*288.
Roxor128 3 years ago
what kind of a program did you use?
Maxinium 3 years ago
POVRay for the rendering, Premiere Pro for the assembly.
Roxor128 3 years ago
Actually, come to think of it, all the CSG operations I'd wind up using to make the TARDIS would slow down the rendering anyway.

hi are you Eaglestriker from whomix
turevenad 4 years ago
No, but I think he's put together some very good pieces. One reason why I used his reconstruction of the new theme for this tunnel.
Roxor128 4 years ago
your gettin better each time
goku1st 4 years ago
The only major change this time around is the code to generate the tunnel's path through space. The texturing code is unchanged from v3.1.
Roxor128 4 years ago
That sounds like the new version of the theme... only at the same time it's a bit different.. have you tweaked it or something?
