It was a close game, Keinath was leading too. His technique is like so many uncultured basement armature players, but he is getting into finals. So basement players don't give up yet, there are still lots in your own unique original style.
oh really....i am currently my college champion for consecutive 2 yrs....i dont think so u really hv any knowledge about TT....my comment was just fun worth...got it??
This was the first time I've ever seen two players hugging each other after the match. Very rare in table tennis. Normally they only shake hands for a millisecond, which looks really aloof and impersonal. Nice to see two players who really respect each other as two men with the same passion for the sport...
I'm so glad Kamal won. Keinath is my least favorite player in all of tt. Nothing personal, his spastic style is just so ugly to watch, makes the sport look silly. *(not remarking about his ability in any regard, just don't like the way it looks)
Indians media forget about cricketers and focus on champs like these. Its shameful the amount of focus given only to crcicket. Champs like sharath deserve so much more.
Great game of table tennis. Kamal kept his cool till the end but Thomas was completely different to Kamal both in the playing style and attitude. Good play Kamal.
GET IN THERE KAMAL!!!! Thomas Keinath goes on like a fucking dickhead throughout this game, leaping about, stamping his feet like a little kid, and the USA commentry once again .....a joke!!! But still, a great upload. thanks ttprovider
I bet next season when both players play in the Bundesliga, Keinath will not repeat this act. He is a good player and trains hard, but this behaviour is not acceptable for most players. I think he acted like this because the American crowd wanted to see a show.
@grandkarate Yeah, he sure beat his ass by winning by the most narrow margin possible in the sport after a come back. Kamal did beat Chen Weixing's ass if you wanna look that up though.
Have to say, like some others here, found Keinath a bit of an ass...
no, he was an ass.
I like Achanta's game
@justin90876, The answer to your question is fairly simple. Maybe you know the answer but wanted to ask aloud all the same.
It is not part of American "culture" and as such does not cultivate players from a young age, developing them with great infrastructure & competition nor does it draw the most talented athletes to it as there is:
Thomas Keinath's reaction to every point lost is very amateurish and gayish! Indeed, he played for the crowd and not for the crown. Good thing he lost!lolz
simple answer really, americans dont know table tennis exists, all they know is ping pong, which is of course a joke. i play at three different clubs here in the state of iowa. at one club, all the good players are chinese. at the second club, all the good players are vietnamese. at the third club, all the best players are bosnian. between the three there are only a handful of strong native born caucasian players, and they would all be much better if they dropped 100 pounds.
@justin90876 Good question. As an American who loves table tennis and wants to grow the sport, it's an important question. I think the country needs to see how this sport can generate money in the US. I think that's the motivation for many things in the US (generally speaking). Maybe getting it into our schools would be a good start. We're working on teams leagues as we speak. It's a step in a long journey. 8>)
@grandkarate Your said beliefs are correct. The NCTTA is a growing organization that is making great strides with collegiate table tennis. I actually have been running the Southern California division for the past few years & will continue to. Our division has grown every year since I started USC's Ping Pong Posse & helped UCLA form a club to get a region going. We are working to get in High Schools, then middle schools, then elementary. The sport is very popular, it just needs organization.
@justin90876 Uhh? These are not Americans first of all. In the beginning of the video it showed the players names and the countries they play for. the three letters stand for the country you know (SVK, IND).
Thomas is an ass, he playing for the people thats why he lost....how stupid can you be to set your motivate on pleasing people when playing a important match like this.......
@waynebenn45 do you think there's any chance that he lost because kamal a top player in the world, and recently straight game won over Kenta Matsudaira?
This s great . and also i'm proved to be an indian

@adambobrow I believe there is a collegiate table tennis league but it is not that big, instead of integrating it into schools we need to expand it.
