  • that was very nice...any upgrades to the rearend..? stock half shafts?..my cobra is 460 at the tires..I'm affraid to run slicks on stock half shafts.not sure if they will hold

  • @turbosaleen347 Stock rear end. do a healthy burnout, rev her up to 4500rpm and let the clutch go easy. DO NOT dump the clutch and if you wheel hop, let go immediately, you will be fine. Stock halfshafts will break if you wheelhop and wont let go. Other than that, stock rear end is very strong and you can cut 1.5x 60's with it.

  • @turbosaleen347 dude dont put slicks in your cobra, my friend busted one of his axles going down the track, saved the car then, we put viper spec axles on it and he messed up the torque boxes!!!

  • @doodad Thanks, I was 7.40 @ 97 on ET Street Radials, not the slick. 1.7 60' on them, only made a few passes before they shut down because the rundown area was still damn, and the track sucked!

  • I pulled a lower 60ft than you with a ported blower and only got a 11.6, and I was powershfting, i was very disapointed. Props on your car

  • @bmxer1989 bad tune would be my answer then. If you ran it on a race friendly day, pulled a better 60' shifted her at the perfect RPMs (look at your dyno sheet and see where she peaks, etc.) and still ran slower with a ported blower, then your car isnt running healthy. Tuning would be my suspicion but it could be something else. Sorry man. and thanks for the props.

  • @egeiz Thanks! I had MT ET streets on. I was shifting right at 6k RPM. 5800 is kind of low. 6000-6200 is where its at.

  • if you dump, it would spin a little but with slicks even if you sping, they still push you forward. I was planning to lauch at 6k RPM with slipping the clutch a little so i wouldn't shock the rear and dead hook and get myself a 1.5x 60' which would allow me a decent 11.2-11.1 run. if i ever get a chance, i will prove people, 11 flat on a pullied only cobra, full weight. hell, maybe 10.99.

  • you are asking me If i downshift? let me tell you what I do, I put the car in 1st and do a quick burnout to heat the tires up for traction and then i keep the car in 1st and rev up to whichever RPM i want and when the light turns green i let the clutch up easy and floor the gas pedal. when i shift, i do not let the gas pedal go, I keep the gas pedal on the floor the entire time, I just hit the clutch real fast and change gear. 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 4th and thats it!

  • oh, once you pass the finish line, you slow yoru car down and then follow the road, turn around and grab your time slip from the booth and go back to staging lines or park your car somewherelse to cool down.

  • HELL NO! don't go in first at high speed, you will mess the car up. don't even downshift, just when you pass the finish line, put the car in netrual and hit the brakes and slow down. thats what i do all the time. i put my car in 3rd gear on this video to speed up cuz i was way to slow and i wanted to speed up so i could go and grab my time slip. AGAIN, do not never ever, downshift to 1st, even when you are daily driving. it is not good for the car!

  • dont go into first while the car is moving unless it is like 5mph. about quick video, search here by saying "how to drive stick shift or manual" and you should see plently of videos. I dont have a camera to make video. i borrowed that camera in my vid.
