What really happened was that this military convoy was retreating back to Iraq to continue fighting (i.e. Fallujah, Al Asad, etc...). They run away and pretend to be civilians because they don't fight under the same rules that we do (military code of conduct, UN rules of engagement, etc...). In short, they are cowards and I did not feel sorry for them in 1991 and I do not feel sorry for them in 2011.

A routed army, or an army in retreat, is still armed, dangerous, and a viable military target. They were told to leave while leaving all weapons (which would, in effect, be a SURRENDERED army) They opted to keep their weapons and retreat. They paid the price.

You all realize this is the Gulf War and not the initial push to Baghdad in 2003, right? The narrator even says that there where a handful of tanks throughout the 60 miles. What really happened was that this military convoy was retreating back to Iraq to continue fighting (i.e. Fallujah, Al Asad, etc...). They run away and pretend to be civilians because they don't fight under the same rules that we do (military code of conduct, UN rules of engagement, etc...). In short, they are cowards and I did not feel sorry for them in 1991 and I do not feel sorry for them in 2011.

@FinnishVikings First of all, destroying the destroyed wells caused a decrease in the consumption of oil. Secondly, since the air becomes saturated if too large amounts of CO2 are put out at once, so the damage is mostly a bit darker sand in Kuwait and south west Iraq.
Also, there are no "Finnish Vikings".
