  • A few days ago when talking to my sister I flashed on a memory of this song from the seventies (?) - and i could not remember who sang it. ..so I went searching and found your brilliant piece of work. Brought back a few years, a few tears and a lot of magic. - not the least being the kids' counterpoint voices near the end. Thanks so much, it's these things that make the Net worth having...cheers from australia....

  • Really enjoyed that thank you!Out of all the artists L.S.Lowry is my favourite and i'd love to own one of his pictures one day.

  • This man Lowry provided so many windows into lives and times of a long gone England. So lucky that his work was so prolific. There is something to be learned from every painting and drawing. I last heard this song in about 1979, my first knowledge of LS Lowry came from the song. It's wonderful to be able to hear it again and the video tribute is so poignant.

  • good song

  • timeless classic

  • brought memories nothing else could. want to listen to it again and again. thanks for putting up the song,

  • any body else heard the comedy version,

  • You know what. Even after YEARS of not hearing this song. It still brings a tear to my eye hearing it again. Thank you :-)

  • i remember doing an assembley in my primary about ls lowry singing this song

this song makes u proud to come from lancashire

  • Classic tune, memories of being little and having no worries in life. I wouldn't mind remixing this and putting a 4/4 compressed kick drum behind it, dont know if it'd work mind.

  • Good Lad for posting this 'un. Many years since.. etc

  • Such beautiful paintings - regardless of the value of them today , they are just georgous. I will just have to settle for a print !!!!!!!!!!

  • nice song up the baggies

  • Eee by gum lass its grand, well done.

  • love it x

  • Ahhhhh, I remember that one.

  • These are more than just paintings. They are windows into a time when England was still England.

  • too right his work is a representation of the society England was built upon, and the way of life that we neglect today. his work is both inspirational and moving, and shows us the simplicity and love of life we working class northeners enjoy. Lowry is a legend

  • I want to see the 'the mannequin sketches' or 'marionette works' of Lowry, will they ever be shown?

  • Still beautiful after all these years. Lowry was never about art, he was about HEART. He painted what he saw around him. The man was a genious, and this song, is a great tribute to his honesty. Thank you for posting SweetLady Tiger. Jacko xx.

  • What a classic hit. Heard it on the radio today...had to find on U Tube...

  • Thanks for this. My 5 year old daughter is learning about Lowry in school and we have been looking all over for the song. To have it with the paintings is just perfect. I'm going to forward it to her class teacher.

  • Have a look at my LS Lowry video.

  • thanks for posting this

  • Lowry was so talented and Brian and Michael are superb at narrating L.S lowry's life

    Best Wishes,

    from

    Brian & Michael

    (The Matchstalk Men)

  • Thank you, Brian and Michael. Thank you making the awesome Tribute to Lowry like you did. He was a brillant Artist. You did a great honor to him with the song.

  • @seftonwallet since I was little and came from Ireland that song is me

  • Excellent collage of Lowry's work. Some of his large-scale paintings - "The Lake", "The Pond"... - remind me of old Dutch paintings because of their minute attention to detail. Lowry also used colour in a very interesting manner.

  • Lowry was a brillant artist. It is too bad that he didn't live to see his art appreciated as it should have been.

  • Yeah I know there are some typos and stuff. I might redo it later.

  • Superbly done & a great song !
