Yay. Loved Sleater K & loved Mary in Helium & solo too (saw botha them live too & they totally rocked onstage) & this kicks it too. Mary is such a great odd(super-)ball player (evidence="Lucy" by Helium LIVE version on Pipeline Comp=genius live solo!) & they sound like the kinda fun we haven't had since oh... That OTHER "never forget" Post-September World shaking event TWO decades ago...9/24/1991..when Nevermind was released & Nirvana launched THAT indie rock golden era...Kurt & Co kicked op
this is like Christmas morning. i just found out about wild flag even though i have been a huge s-k fan. and as it turns out carrie had the same idea as me for so long- that the band would be better without corin tucker. i always loved carrie best, by far. now she's on top, the way i always thought she alway shoud've been all along. long live wild flag.
i love the band and of course the legends that spawned it, but i find myself REALLY not liking the name wild flag. not sure why - maybe the glut of indie bands in recent years starting with "wild" combined with "flag" which reminds me of course of black flag and X - it's weird, i hate the name because it feels calculated to evoke these very things!
Mary T's guitar playing floors me everytime,daamn.. and sounds like Carrie's playing much heavier stuff compared to Sleater-Kinney,which is a good thing. I wonder if they've been listening to some underground 60's psych lately.

This song is a cross of Frank Zappa, Devo, David Bowie, Nena, and Blondie.

A nod to Lemon Pipers' Green Tambourine maybe.

Why don't Janet's drums sound huge? What's happened in the last 5 years?!?

For me, i was never into Sleater-Kinney, but i've always been a HUGE Mary Timony fan!
Her influence looms large in these songs, which i like.
Mary plays a certain way, sings a certain way...
She is incredibly unique.

@razorjules Right, she can pull the strings on her guitar which makes an epic sound.

Cool. Any chance you could post Future Crimes? I'm going to buy the 7", but I'd like to have both of the songs on my ipod.
webster670 11 months ago
@webster670 Sorry, I don't have it, but, anyway, I think... I read that the 7" bring a code for download digital version.
I hope I can buy the 7" from Spain, but it's not gonna be easy..xD
