And Sony's Blu-ray Disc destroyed the HD DVD crap. Everyone knew Blu-ray was going to win because of Sony the worldwide leader in everything electronics.
Well my prediction is... BLUE RAY... HD-DVD lost. Just got announced on TV. By tomorrow 2-19-08 Toshiba and others will announce their deals off to HD-DVD. Blue-Ray won. I hope that Paramount now releases Transformers on Blue.
Sorry but the "Wishy-Washy" company just won dude... Thank god I got a PS3 and it has a bluray player!!!... Something was telling me that Sony knew what they were doing when they put it in PS3. :D
I have stopped posting this good news everywhere. 2 weeks ago! Just before Toshiba stopped making HD-DVD players. And right after Walmart pulled all HD-DVD players off of their shelves. Ect, ect. I have 65 Blu-ray movies and I was just a little excited to know that they didn't go to waste. It's such a Blu-tiful day isn't it?..
HD DVD is dead. They only have 1 1/2 studios support, Universal (witch is out of contract)and Paramount that is looking for a clause. It's ovbius that just have to wait a few months to watch Universal leaves HD DVD. Time says all, take a look to Warner. It is DONE, Blu-ray WON this format war. There's nothing they can do.
Love all HD DV*B%TdDV#T, sorry, HD DVD buyers. I feel shame for them.
yeah if there was even a DVD war a few years back. I'm still with VHS untill 6 years ago DVD kicked VHS off. This time I'm going for Space not price cause every is rediciously expensive. A Blu Future.
The move by Warner Bros. to produce only Blu-ray movies is already beginning to push HD DVD out of stores, says a report from Video Business. Several retail chain owners, including Trans World Entertainment and Video Buyers Group, have revealed that they will either emphasize or introduce Blu-ray in their stores in response to the larger library of movies that will be available for the format.
the game quility compared to the ps3 game quility is no competition. s3 can take advantage of possibly 100gb(prototype)in the future. the maximum for the dvd is 9gb of game devolping room.
An Isreali company has actually put a full Terabyte on a CD size disc using the red laser! Red being the kind you find in SD-DVD and HD-DVD players. They currently have plans to do 5TB with the blue laser commonly found in Blu-ray players. Imagine an entire 5 year series, in 1080i/p, on a single disc!!!
Thanks I just got my self a 360 and HD DVD add on 2 days ago. LMAO only the 360 hell no I'm not that dumb to get a HD DVD. the room need to make the games on 360 are too small so 2 dis is the way for 360. I agree 360 still use DVD format and Sony making almost just about any thing has the upper hand.
I just got one from my friend very cheap and so carefull to listen to the fan making sure it works LMAO. One time I forgot to hook up video audio input in the back and I turn on the 360 it gave me the Ring of Death I was like oh shit but it stop afther I hook it up PS3 is better in just about everything only libray of games for PS3 are less cause it's still new.
You sir are an idiot. What a whopping prediction there. One format for 2008??? OMG - NOBODY could have predicted that. Do you get out much? Thankfully your not president of much. Please, go back to your real job, whatever it may be and leave the real work to the pros!
When out in the shops after xmas, I have noticed lot of people buying blu-ray and only a few looking at the HD-DVD discs. This might be cos people want to show off their shiny new PS3.
I personly think blu-ray is the better format, but i know lot of people prefer HD-DVD. Who will win the war? Who knows, but my money is with Blu-ray.
As for a single format as mentioned in this video, in a short answer.......... NO CHANCE
Do you really think that Sony and the other companies that have put so much time and money into producing these two formats will just scrap all the work they have done so far. I don't think so!
It will just piss of the consumers who have brought blu-ray or HD-DVD players. What would these people have to do? Buy a new system and all of their films to go with yet another new format?
I agree with the last posting. I want my movies in hd it doesent matter if its blueray or hd dvd. if you want people have to start buying seriously unite. we can have a win win tecnology.
below is the numbers that include ps3 yet ps3 owners do not always get movies plus around 1in 3 ps3 owners do not own a hd television so the hd movies are lost on them as there is no point them buying movies.for every hd dvd player you can garantee a movie sale so if the advantage of blu with 70 to 30 is something to go on then blu is actually failing because it has 5 times the amount of players out there.
I myself as a consumer likes the best technology. however I still procrasinate in buying either format. I read and talk to many people and they all have a diferent opinion. I realy dont care if blue ray or Hd dvd wins. I just want one format so I can start enjoying hd movies. instead of hearing fools saying hd dvd or blue ray sucks. who cares they are not paying you. nobody wins if they keep this crap up.
Daily Hollywood trade newspaper THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER on Friday predicted that Blu-ray will "blow away" HD DVD in 2008. And a THR online poll had 76% predicting Blu-ray to prevail.
The reasons THR gave for the Blu-ray predicition: * PS3 gives Blu-ray clear advantage -- already in about 2.7 million U.S. homes. * Blu-ray movies outsell HD DVD movies in Europe by a 3-to-1 margin despite HD DVD players selling at half the price. * Paramount/DreamWorks' decision to accept a $150 million "incentive payment" to go HD DVD exclusive "smacked of desperation."
* Warner's "300" was the best-selling next-gen DVD and 66% of sales are on Blu-ray vs 34% on HD DVD. * Blockbuster's test of both formats is running about 70%-30% in favor of Blu-ray.
I got a blue ray but they dont have universal studios movies how come i meen hd dvd has it they have to do something cus im not happy about this there both goof \
I dont care who wins I have ps3 and a 360 with HD. I just wish the damn bluray fanboys would shut the F$CK UP. Just mad because UNTILL recently(COD4,DrakesFortune) all the games sucked for ps3 especially games that were available for both. They just used bluray to help cover there ass for a stupid purchase at launch.
actually i don't see much reason for the hd-dvd to survive. Blu-ray has a much larger potential than hd-dvd. Another plus for blu-ray is the playstation 3, that's becomming more and more common. so i predict that the ps3 and and the far better potential will make blu-ray win the war. but you can never be sure of course
Thats an interesting guess i like it! People aren't prone towards change the name DVD has been familiarized through the past several years. Nobody is familiar with blu-ray, so my guess is HD-DVD or a comprimise like Swanni says. I don't care I'll get whatever everyone else gets, just a guess.
are you serious right now hd dvd is chaper to make and cheaper to buy plus the blu ray only has an 30% acceptance rate over hd dvd's 80%. and last but not least there's only one major comany pushing blu gay it's SONY!! surprise.
toshiba hd dvd player for £150 you can not go wrong even if your wrong. on ebay there even cheaper and the picture is fantastic and its region free with great upscaling too so im hd all the way and so are all my friends and family does anyone know any one with a bluray player apart from ps3.most only use ps3 for games and im one of them.ps3 on my recreation telly hd dvd on main tv or else it would be a battle and my missus owns the big telly and the remote
I dont think hd dvd will lose, the hi def market is still miniscule and not even after christmas they wont choose (eg some nobhead said something about warners making a decision) Which wont happen because warners has been impressed with hd dvd's web enabled features which shit on blu rays discs. But that doesnt matter because most of the consumers are idiots with no brians and they buy the inferior disc Blu ray
I've said it once and I'll say it again Blu-Ray. Around the world there kicking HD-dvd to the curb and movies Movies come on what is even a big hit other then Transformer. The price is just about even so what's next?
From what I've seen from the major stats. Blueray is now outselling hd, 2 to 1. plus when you use a 100 gig vs. 60 gig. I believe that means less compression, hence better quality for sound and video.
And Sony's Blu-ray Disc destroyed the HD DVD crap. Everyone knew Blu-ray was going to win because of Sony the worldwide leader in everything electronics.

Hello Playstation fanboy.
I support Blu-ray, and agree that HD-DVD will be gone by 2009. But it's just stupid to say the 360 is dead.
Please, get out of Sony's ass, and make your own opinions. It is actually kind of fun.
