@gardenlabyrinth I guess they first had to dry set it before setting it with mortar, cause a big mosaic like that you just can't go ahead and start setting it, you first have to figure it out see if all pieces fit properly or else do some adjustments before setting it permanently. at least that's the way I do it.
Doesn't look like you are using mortar to stick it to the floor, nor grout between pieces?
