@XPS2HC lots of people in that queue came from Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton or Stansted where the chaos was even worse. in that case flying wasn't an alternative to stupidity. It was in all the news, inform yourself in the future before writing comments.

I met countless people on the way to germany in the train that were originally scheduled on a flight but could not get out. if you'd watched any news you would know that beside problems with flights and train there where severe conditions on the roads as well so bus or car wasn't an option either. I remain with my opinion, you should inform yourself before making any comments.
