That's great stuff! We use bow and arrow over here, they are so plentiful it's crazy. There is a tournament on Lake Winnebago every year. 24hour style. and Last year the winners had 763lbs of the buggers. That's a ton of shooting for a 4 man team!!!

the carp water i fish has fish from 1lb - 35lbs/ everyone around me catches doubles all the time, i copy their rigs, bait, hotspots, every thing. i guess im just crap...
k well for a start leave your bait in the water for the fish to come across if your getting pesttred by the smaller carp try changing boilies ie 22mm instead of 10mm it may take longer but the results are prety good

I have targeted carp on many occasions and have caught some over 20 pounds,( on ultralight tackle), but bass fishing is wayyyy more fun. I actually had a carp chase down and grab a spinnerbait once,and that was a blast,but that is the exception to the rule. Bass fishing is all about predatory instincts,Carp fishing is all about hooking a mud sifter. I dont care how big they get, I would rather bass fish!!!!!

When you reach my age you like to call carp summer fish only as an excuse to only venture out for them in the sun :o! However I have caught 100s apon 100s of carp large and small in even the most severe winter conditions, Its about smaller hooks and smaller baits in the winter really (With my waters anyway). Cook sweetcorn? No. Plus i wouldnt use it in winter, stick to maggots or small particle with small pva bags, i mean small. Maybe ur waters are different i dont know.
but people would overlook them as they are a offer great sport not many people would respect some one eating a carp but i have seen it done on tele have a look at river cottage they do alot of fish cooking and great recipies for eating many fish even carp
man i like ur carps, in canada here tho i seem to be catching only grass carp. However, 1 place known as caledonia has butterfly carp which is 1-2 hour drive away.
