awesome. air guitared spy v spy 26ish years ago with mates. quality no b.s aussie rock. no sax, no girls on back up vocals. just lads smashing it out. tuff not nice!! thanks for the memories boys, ill take it to the grave!!
Ah great memories of my early years at high school. The shipwreck in the begining of this vid is the "Sygna" in Stockton Bight (near Newcastle) Used to be some great waves there but the wreck is now breaking up and not holding the sand like it used to. Great RocknRoll.
Thank you for putting this up! Love it! Legendary. Kinf of reminds me of a cross between Midnight Oil, The Clash and The Sex Pistols :D Great to see Hobart, Tasmania get in here from Mount Wellington :D Jeez, that radio tower has changed since. Look at 2:06 :D
I remember seeing this great band at the Horden Pavilion in Sydney back in the early 80's - they and The Warrumpi Band were the support acts for Midnight Oil on that occasion. I think the guitar sounds a lot like The Edge from U2.
I saw this song on rage in about 1990 and Ive loved it ever since. saw the Spys in Whyalla in about 93. Dollar VB stubs and it was the best live gig Ive seen. The message of the song couldnt be stronger. Top stuff.

As a Spy's fan, I think their best song.
'you're telling lies but you're making headway' reminds me of what you had to do to impress women in the 80's.
