if black man is God then why do we find that they are unfortunately amongst the most oppressed people in the United States?
I also don't understand your comment about how Africans gave Arabs Islam and Jesus, seeing as the root of Islam is from Allah, and the last revelation can clearly be traced to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It is ridiculous to say somehow Arabs are selling pork and alcohol to the black community. That is what the American government is doing, not "Arabs."
Yasir Qadhi ! We don't need an Arab lying about our Black History. Home boy Arab, you're lying to the people about M.F.M and E.L.M... Black people from Africa gave you Arabs Islam and Jesus etc. The Black Man is God. We don't need Arab imperialism...The Black Africans wants their land in Egypt /Africa back...selling pork and liquor in the black community.
By the way, Yasir Qahdi is Indo-Pakistani, not Arab, so you whole racist diatribe was foolish. Also, you complain about Arab imperialism?! Open your eyes! The real imperialists are the Europeans and Americans. They have been sucking Africa's natural resources dry for tens of decades, and dividing the African people and causing them to fight amongst themselves so that they can oppress them and steal their resources.
at heaven's gate he sees peter. Peter, wtf are YOU doing here? Where is Allah? Peter: he is at the top. Ali goes to the next flor. there, he sees Mary.same question, same response. on the next floor, he sees jesus. same question, same response. now ali reaches the top and there he meets GOD. uhm...if GOD is here, Allah must be the most powerfull. hey GOD, where is allah?GOD: he is here, but ali c'mon let's have some coffee. Ali: okay. GOD: ALLAH! GET US COFFEE!!
Allah is the Arabic word for God. If you look in a Bible or a Torah that is translated into Arabic you will find that the word they use for "God" is "Allah." Therefore your post makes no sense.
of course it makes sense, cuz i'm talking about peter, mary, jesus and i'm not telling this joke in an arabic language, so i use allah and god as two different persons.
uhh... that doesn't change the definition of the word 'Allah', which is translated to 'God' in English. The fact remains that Arab Christians call 'God' by 'Allah.'
but this fact is absolutly unimportant, because i say allah, and with him i mean the god of the muslims. with god i mean the jewish and christian god. why else should i use peter, mary and jesus ( though jesus is also mentioned in koran).
and 'allah'(islam) and 'GOD'(christianity) are not the same persons
God, JHWH, Allah, are all names of the same deity in different languages. Your emotional comments and poor logic is not going to change that. Also, Muslims don't hate Christians and Jews. The Quran talks about the "People of the Book" in a positive way, and tries to correct their mistakes. Quoting out of context won't change that, either.
really??? where in the quran does it say that? The quran specifially says "Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians -- whoever believes in God and the Last Day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord. Wow....ur ignorant and ur preaching....lol, how embarrassing for u.
The people referred to by this verse [surah tawbah: 5] are pagan Arabs who had been waging war against the Prophet (pbuh) & who had broken their covenant and treaties with him. Look at the verse immediately before [1-2] & after [6], the context of the verse becomes clear; we see that the pagans were granted a four month amnesty with an indication that when the four months were over, fighting would resume. Verse 4 exempts some of them from the resumption of hostilities. The Qur'an is not 1 verse.
"And verily We [Allah] have raised in every nation a messenger, (proclaiming): Worship Allah and shun false gods." [Sûrah al-Nahl: 36]
"Verily, We [Allah] have inspired you (O Muhammad) as We inspired Noah and the Prophets after him; We (also) inspired Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and Al-Asbat [the twelve sons of Jacob], Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms." [Surah an-Nisa: 163].
Not really. Spanish Christians don't believe in God. They believe in Dios. French Jews don't believe in God. They believe in Dieu. Arabic Jews and Christians don't believe in God. They believe in Allah.
The english language did not exist pre-1066; the Bible was not revealed in English; Prophet Jesus was not english. Your right God is not synonymous with Allah because you can add a suffix to 'God' e.g. Godess, Gods, Godesses, so the name God is not befitting for those who claim belief in One God. In arabic, no prefix or suffix can be added to Allah. The closest translation of Allah to English is 'The One Worthy of Worship' i.e. the One True God. Thus Arab christians say Allah, not God.
my friend, go and pick up a bible in arabic. The word for God is Allah. it is a proper noun referring to the same Being. just because you make a differentiation with it doesnt mean the rest of the world makes it...your own bible, in the arabic language doesnt.
Subhanallah, may Allah bless the ummah with the like of Shaykh Yasir Qadhi. I needed this lecture tremendously, and Allah swt blessed me by running into it. I'm taking two Islamic Studies courses taught by a feminist and reformist...Alhamdulilah.
have some shame. If you don't have any shame... then listen to this.
Prophet Muhammad said: "If you have no shame, then do whatever you want."
This is a deep statement of his, which has a lot of meaning to it. One of the many meanings - is a 'threat'. i.e. You have no shame, then do whatever you feel like. Become drunk, naked, dance and scream and become wild like an animal. You will be accounted for your own actions.
Those who have some shame/decency, realize that sex is private matter
Masha-Allah, he raises a really good point. Everyone should learn from that, and Insha-Allah that will be my response to questions regarding the shariah: "Because Allah told us, so we must obey".
How would the world be without Aristole you asked? Perhaps a much better place than it is were it not for his racist contention of "some are borned as natural slaves". Perhaps you are a racist yourself to suggest a much worst place without Aristotle. Because of this racist proposition, the church blessed the racist enterprise of the Spanish conquest of the Americas and subsequently Africa. Juan Ginese de Sepulveda is his brother on the same plank of racism. You disagree?
What would the world be without Aristotle and Plato..without the Greek school of freedom..the well of inspiration, of virtue and grace. The only thing that can happen to someone reading greek philosophy is to admire the human being..a feeling i should say that nowdays has been extinct..Tace care.
But to put all the metaphors aside: there is NO religion that is natural/inherit to all humans, the only commonality that we're born with is the fact that we're the same species. As I said: people are born into religion (exceptions are some converts). Similarly, the male/female "roles" are determined by society, so the argument that we are born "different" is both true and false. Yes, we're born different sexes, but many of our roles are inter-changeable.
I'm going to paraphrase, his question was: If I believe in God (Allah), and he has told me what is good and bad; then how can I be wrong? Simple: You were BORN into a religion, your parents were Muslim, so you're Muslim. If you were born in a Christian family, you would have been Christian, and so on. A truth is only universal if it applies to everybody, and everybody has equal access to it. Gravity is true, religion is not! I use the tool of reason to determine what is good and what is not!
"use the tool of reason to determine what is good and what is not!" IF WE START FOLLOWING THIS... THEN FORGET ABOUT PEACE HARMONY AND UNITY IN THIS WORLD! BECUASE THEN U HAVE NO LOGIC AND REASON TO PROVE A THIEF THAT HE IS WRONG :)
Inherently wrong: if you study what's GOOD for you, you will notice that you will also study History and figure out that peace and harmony are good. You don't need religion to tell you that, as a matter of fact religion has been counter-productive in the case of peace and harmony. I come from Eastern Europe where Christians and Muslims have fought for years, the latest was Bosnia/Serbia, Kosovo, etc.
Although Yasir Qadhi was born into a Muslim family, most of the videos in my channel are by those who converted to Islam. Of course, a person has to think and ponder about his religion, is it really from God. Look at the theological fundamentals of it, and if is from God, then submit to it. Yasir Qadhi is saying that we should place importance on speaking about how Islam is from God. And the religion of God is universal, we are one race, and there is one way to Him.
What you consider good today, you might consider bad tomorrow, and vice-versa. What you consider good, I might consider bad. So how do we determine what is good? If its left up to you and me to decide, then we can't find what really is good. Many times we hit on it, but many times we miss it, because we are influenced by our own desires. My use of reason and yours may clash. God is the One who has the right to legislate, and it is important to know our purpose.
Again, you assume that my fundamental foundations and assumptions about life change on a daily basis, that's a false assumption and that's the "game" that you play. I think it's stubborn to hold on to one type of mentality and blindly follow it, especially if there are injustices associated with it. I would rather learn from the past and improve on the future, if that leads me to change my views, then great! (continued...)
(... continued) The world around is is not a constant, no, it's Changing, so we must adopt to it. If we learn that our actions are causing negative impact on the world, then we must correct ourselves. The so called "measuring stick" is to me is History, we look back at history and we learn from our MISTAKES, we don't repeat them! Ultimately, NO GOD on the face of the Earth comes natural to anybody, after you're born you must be told about a God to believe in it, same as a language...
My fundamental foundations, for example, are not ever changing, I don't wake up one day and decide to change my stance on murder and go shoot up a bunch of people: I consider killing to be wrong, except in defense. My stance on such fundamental things doesn't change from day to day. Again, just one example... I don't have the space to tell you about all the others, but you can do it yourself.
I wasn't referring to you specifically. But humans in general cannot always know what is good and what is not, and their minds change.
We believe that every human is born with a pure and correct state and correct beliefs. If you investigate what do people believe if no one comes and tells them what to believe. Tribes in africa and the aborigines, you will see it is Islam without the name. There is One God, nothing is like him... etc.
Close but not true, it's the opposite: people might believe in common things, but Islam is not the common denominator. Religion is like a language, you pick it up when you're born and you learn it from your parents. Arguing that one religion is superior is like arguing that one language is superior to other, etc.
Well thats your opinion. If you believe in God, then it does not make sense that He left us without guidance. and it does not make sense that he would reveal more than religion to the same people. There is one truth.
You're correct... you're free to believe that, that's why it's called a religion. As far as there being one truth, I agree with that, but the part that most people disagree on is "what is the truth?". Most people can understand the concept that there is one truth, but what you understand to be true is different from what I perceive to be true. It's easy to follow, but it's harder to lead. Followers never amounted to anything, leaders DID! It's just life!
After all anything that comes out of my mouth/fingertips/keyboard is OBVIOUSLY my opinion, and everything that comes out of your mouth is your opinion. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just pointing out the fact that what we say is our opinion, else we would not be saying it... if it's not my opinion, then why would I even argue and support it?
it always kind of taken me aback or i would say hurt me that medieval muslim scholars or philosopher were so much influenced by these greek philosophies that they abused and twisted the truth and hid behind the term "free thinkers". , Philosophy that is men made. if i have to mention one name who had truly been to himself ..that would be imam al ghazali, who was sincere to his faith and at the time had sound understanding of human spirit.
Islam truly respects and honors a woman for who she is and who Allah intended her to be. Its the true way to live. I'm so proud and happy to be a woman in Islam.
You start with pointing questions about inequality of sexes in Islam in regard to polygamy, inheritance, individuality, etc....
However, instead of addressing them, you blah blah blah blab blab blab blab blab....... At the end your unique, un-traditional, much better response = GOD SAID SO
Eventhough we can explain the wisdom behind these, the main point is that we do these things because God has commanded us to do them. When people start attacking Islam, you can give them as many explanations as you like, they will come up with something else to reject Islam. So the problem here is that you don't believe this is from God, then we should start talking about why Islam is the religion of God.
Women and men both should have total freedom of expression. Whether a woman wants to be modest or not is her choice, and is not the choice of anyone else, man or woman. What disgusts me about so many religions (not just Islam, almost all of them) is that so many followers of those religions aren't satisfied with living a moral live according to their religion, and feel that it's their duty to pass laws to force others into that supposed morality.

so basically what you're saying is that you can redefine words as you please.
Also, the "God of the Muslims" is the same God as the God of the Christians and the Jews. Therefore "God" and "Allah" are synonymous.
Which is why your 'joke' makes know sense.

you dont understand. muslims believe in allah. christians and jews believe in god or the LORD.

god has chosen the jews as his holy people and the quran says kill those who dont believe in allah. jews believe in JHWH not in allah.

it always kind of taken me aback or i would say hurt me that medieval muslim scholars or philosopher were so much influenced by these greek philosophies that they abused and twisted the truth and hid behind the term "free thinkers". , Philosophy that is men made. if i have to mention one name who had truly been to himself ..that would be imam al ghazali, who was sincere to his faith and at the time had sound understanding of human spirit.

At the end your unique, un-traditional, much better response = GOD SAID SO
What??? What a breakthrough response.
