Why am I getting the feeling of playing this game again soon? Every winter, I get this feeling of wanting to play Shenmue. I probably won't though as I've completed it like over 3 times...

I was just wondering if I could ask how you render your videos before uploading to YouTube, like what file type you use; MP4, WMV etc? Also I particularly love the Shenmue and Shenmue 2 LP's, as they're my all time favourite games on my all time favourite console. Keep up the good work and enjoy the wee break :)

And what's also upsetting is his life falls apart before the end his dad dies 2 of his friends never show up after half of the third cd his girlfriend moves to north America. I felt bad for ryo by the end of this.
Ryo's inclusion in S&SASR, whilst not re-releases of I and II on the current crop of consoles, has elevated my hopes for the trilogy to be complete within the next few years though! :)
Oh, and did Lan Di really NEED to say anything in that helicopter scene? His eyes said it all... That they were all as bugs to him... Epic. Stuff.

I remember I was sick and dying and I had to go to the hospital and after I had got outta the hospital, I started playing Shenmue for like a week straight because I didn't have to go to school because I was sick and dying..... good times, good times.

Wow, I haven't played this game since it came out (1999?). I'm stunned that graphically it's held up so well. 11 years old, and ironically it's attention to detail, camera work, animation etc still make it look modern. I mean how many games show you picking up items like that tape recorder? This was SEGA at it's prime. Top notch talent defining a genre of gaming. What happened to SEGA

@DEFkon001 The Dreamcast wasn't around in Japan in the 90's...it was around I think early 2002 or '03. And the reason for that is that youtubers are becoming more stupider....

@DEFkon001 Seeing how the graphics aren't much worse than what Resident Evil 4 has, I have to agree.
As for what happened to SEGA, the company had huge financial losses during the Dreamcast era due to very few games selling above a million copies (and even though this game did, it took an absurd amount of money to make and is in fact therefore the posterboy for SEGA's commercial failures during this time). This continues to the present day, where stuff like Panzer Dragoon Orta and MadWorld...

Dreamcast was ahead of its time. Dreamcast games still look better than a lot of the new games in newer game systems. I like the idea that your able to interact with a lot of objects in this game, even get a drink out of a soda machine.
Shenmue 3 needs to happen because Ryo needs to beat the shit out of Lan Di, stick his cock inside Joy and ram her, then return to Japan and fuck Nozomi repeadtedly.
I never played this game as a child though, so I guess I don't have the nostalgia for it =P I first played it last August and was 18 at the time. Came with a huge pack of Dreamast games, like 22 of them for 70 odd quid.
I played it because I'd heard great things about it, unfortunatley though the voicework was not one of them =P
But as I said, I just use subtitles and it's alot more enjoyable, I can see why this game was so popular already.

@GamerSetolo I'm not really into anime but I do know what can happen with translations, but it wasn't the dialogue that bothered me, this game has one HELL of a good narrative from what I've played of it, but the performances really dragged the material down for me until I turned them off.

Shenmue was the first game I had for my Dreamcast. And I consider myself the dumbest guy of the world for selling the console with all the games I had (around 25 games). I miss my Dreamcast. I miss Sega :(

How - in any way - is Shenmue II better on the dreamcast?
On the Xbox, you have English dialogue, better graphics, more detail and things in the game, and on top of that, you don't have to swap discs and the console is more reliable.
The added graphic effects in parts make the game more blurry. They're both really similar though, and its mostly up to whether or not you prefer the japanese or english dialogue

Gave this game a second chance recently, MUCH more enjoyable with the voice acting turned off, I can actually take the introduction seriously now.

I never played this game as a child though, so I guess I don't have the nostalgia for it =P I first played it last August and was 18 at the time. Came with a huge pack of Dreamast games, like 22 of them for 70 odd quid.
I played it because I'd heard great things about it, unfortunatley though the voicework was not one of them =P
But as I said, I just use subtitles and it's alot more enjoyable, I can see why this game was so popular already.

@ScottishDuck17 ....No need to apologize for your excitement i share the same feeling for this game, i remember when i first got it i stayed up all night playing it, I have not played the second game yet because i refuse to play it on anything but, the dreamcast, and ive resented america for porting it to the dumb xbox and I am sad to say i will not be watching your playthrew of the second game due to spoiler. And if SEGA and Yu Suzuki ever make part three I hope to God its on a SEGA console.

@LeonSKennedy828 The voice acting isn't good, probably because it was translated from Japanese to English. Dubbing sometimes ruins it.
I'm kind of lazy right now so I'm not going into details.

@GamerSetolo I'm not really into anime but I do know what can happen with translations, but it wasn't the dialogue that bothered me, this game has one HELL of a good narrative from what I've played of it, but the performances really dragged the material down for me until I turned them off.

Shenmue was the first game I had for my Dreamcast. And I consider myself the dumbest guy of the world for selling the console with all the games I had (around 25 games). I miss my Dreamcast. I miss Sega :(

How - in any way - is Shenmue II better on the dreamcast?
On the Xbox, you have English dialogue, better graphics, more detail and things in the game, and on top of that, you don't have to swap discs and the console is more reliable.

The added graphic effects in parts make the game more blurry. They're both really similar though, and its mostly up to whether or not you prefer the japanese or english dialogue
