i dont understand pikkon in dbz! in this fight he gave goku such a run for his money! better than anyone before this besides cell but he beat him in 2 moves! his speed seemed to be his advantage in his fights! goku couldnt follow his movements! but why is he later made out to be weak? he got hit like once by kid buu and he was done lol

In this video, he could have dodged those moves, but it seemed like he was trying to challenge it.

Frieza had said that back in the beginning and he was destroyed by Goku. @torysama: Goku is a hero because he knows how to best utilize everyone else's power in a given situation. He is show to be as dumb as a door knob education wise, but he makes up with it in actually finding a strategy that works like 2 hours later in a fight and also using other people's power to take the win.
I hate how they got the Grand Kai as this highly respected fighter, but the Supreme Kai who's far greater is seen as scary and worried. That doesn't make sense, and Goku could have went SSJ2 full power if he wanted to.
I don't get the SUpreme Kai. When they were watching babidi and the others outside of his spaceship, if all of them rushed out and launched a suprise attack, they would have killed them all, and buu wouldn't have been released.

Man the names of Pikkon's special abilities sound silly with 'attack' slapped on the end. "Hyper Cyclone" or "Hyper Tornado" sounds way better and less Power Rangers-esque.

If you look the video, he only wins because he hits Pikkon while he is doing the attack. It would have been better if they had actually shown Goku transforming into his ssj2 or ssj3 form to really show strength comparison. I think Pikon pretty much matches Goku in his first super saiyan form.

Really strange. pikkon only lay down his clothes which have a weight of a few tons and goku is transforming into a super saiyan, which is 1000 times (or more cause full power mode) stronger, than his normal form and pikkon is close to win and beats up goku the whole time, but before, when goku is a normal saiyan and pikkon is still wearing his clothes, goku is close to a win
@TheCrazyfication: It's shocking, but it just means that Pikkon without weighted clothes is as strong as Goku in his first super saiyan form, Now, this fight had never shown what the fight would have been like if Goku went into his super saiyan 2nd and third forms. @TheCrazyfication: You would be surprised that it makes a difference. This sort of thing actually relates to real life as well. If you train with any force on your back, it's easy to overcome that force the second time around. If this is still not believable by you, then you could say that Goku was losing because unlike Pikkon, he made the effort to block every single power attack that Pikkon threw at him. Still, I find hard to believe that Goku would have achieved Super Saiyan without King Kai.
Since I like this question a lot, I am willing to offer another explanation. The planet that Pikkon trained on and the planet that Goku trained on had different gravities since they are from different parts of the universe. I think the key information here is not what you can transform into, but what conditions each of these fighters had trained under.
@arviagent13 i think that was ssj2 because ssj1 doesn't have the electric effect when he powers up ssj1 changes hair colour ssj2 2 is the same but with sparks of electricity and ssj3 is realy long hair and no eyebrows im not sure if he had achieved ssj3 by this point when he goes ssj3 against buu its clear he had already done it before in otherworld but we don't get to see it i would assume that he gains ssj3 sometime after this fight but before he faces buu
@choonz84: Could be....but then again it could be his ssj form that is maxed out. According to dragonball wiki, he probably would not use ssj2 because it takes a lot more energy out of you. Apart from the first form. all the other forms are more unstable and are not worth the energy consumption ratio.
@arviagent13 the elecrtic effect looks like ssj2 but its only when he powers up after that he looks like he is at full power ssj1 with the lighter hair but the wiki says the sparks are not always present it also states that ssj2 increases energy output so greater amounts of energy can be used without losing to much energy and becoming exausted given how close the fight was i dont think goku would have held back that said it doesnt realy matter the effect is still the same
@choonz84: Yeah I kind of ate my words on that one. I mixed up his ssj2 form with the Ascended Super Saiyan form. But throughout this whole video, he appeared to have only powered up to ssj1. If you look at the video, it's his bangs that are a dead giveaway. I guess I did not watch very closely, but the only sparks I saw were 5:30-5:50 once when he was charging up to this form. Given that he was exhausted, it would only support the fact that he was Super Saiyan.

@choonz84: From other posters on here, it was because this was way before the cell games. It was at this point in time that Goku still had not yet experienced SSJ2
@arviagent13 this is just after the cell games after cell blew up king kais planet this tounement was held in honor of king kais death it was during this time in otherworld ( 7 years until he is revived in buu saga) that goku achieves ssj3 but it isnt shown when exactly, the timeline on the wiki places this as sometime within 2 months of gohan destroying cell so goku so goku probably hadnt achieved ssj2 only gohan had at this time
@easymoney202: I think he uses those moves because they don't use a whole lot of his energy. If this fight can be compared to what is represented in the games, a Kamehameha wave only takes like half a bar of ki, whereas any other move would probably leach him of so much power that anyone could easily beat him in his first form.

@easymoney202: Yeah..wishing is definitely there. Then again, I think his character was suppose to be as close to a human form as possible. Releasing balls of energy is like the only attack that makes it more believable for him to be human than the attacks Frieza has, since he is shown to be more alien.

For example, take both hands and clasp them together really tight so that you are pushing on the palm. When you let go, you'll feel a repel force between your two hands. I think it's some kind of energy that is formed, but I mean the average can't use it to do an attack. lol
@tahthedon True, though you also have to realize that Dragonball Z was originally meant to end after Frieza, and only continued because of demand by the fans. Not to mention, with the outrageous leaps in power that each villain had as time went on, SSJ and subsequent transformations were the only thing keeping them on par. If you notice, for the latter half of Frieza saga and the rest of the show, pretty much everybody but the saiyans are useless because of SSJ forms.
@bambinirvana: Yeah it just gives a little burst power up. It was actually not in the budokai 2 dbz game so I never thought he had this power up. It was only until I bought the first one that I realized that it was an actual power up.

@bambinirvana i just checked on the wiki and he could potentialy use kaioken in transformed state but the way it exhausted the already dead goku implys that in a living body it could weaken or kill him but no one realy knows it would be entirly up to the writer what effect it would have i would like to have seen him ssj3 x20 kaioken would probably destroy most opponents just by standing next to them

i would've liked it more if goku stayed in his normal state for the entire fight and fight pikkon as equals. Then he should've turn super saiyan at the end (50x power increase) and demonstrate that there was absolutely no way in hell pikkon could win. Seriously, super saiyan actually used to be ''super'' untill after the cell saga, it was legendary. But after that, saiyans wouldn't stand a chance if they didn't go super saiyan.

He is show to be as dumb as a door knob education wise, but he makes up with it in actually finding a strategy that works like 2 hours later in a fight and also using other people's power to take the win.

I hate how they got the Grand Kai as this highly respected fighter, but the Supreme Kai who's far greater is seen as scary and worried. That doesn't make sense, and Goku could have went SSJ2 full power if he wanted to.

@TheSuccessfulHunk: Based on the fight with Pikkon and Goku, I think it was pretty hard to tell who the stronger one was. I mean we can say Goku won, but then again, he kind of luck sacked the win. If you look the video, he only wins because he hits Pikkon while he is doing the attack. It would have been better if they had actually shown Goku transforming into his ssj2 or ssj3 form to really show strength comparison. I think Pikon pretty much matches Goku in his first super saiyan form.

Really strange. pikkon only lay down his clothes which have a weight of a few tons and goku is transforming into a super saiyan, which is 1000 times (or more cause full power mode) stronger, than his normal form and pikkon is close to win and beats up goku the whole time, but before, when goku is a normal saiyan and pikkon is still wearing his clothes, goku is close to a win

If you train with any force on your back, it's easy to overcome that force the second time around. If this is still not believable by you, then you could say that Goku was losing because unlike Pikkon, he made the effort to block every single power attack that Pikkon threw at him. Still, I find hard to believe that Goku would have achieved Super Saiyan without King Kai.

Since I like this question a lot, I am willing to offer another explanation. The planet that Pikkon trained on and the planet that Goku trained on had different gravities since they are from different parts of the universe. I think the key information here is not what you can transform into, but what conditions each of these fighters had trained under.

@choonz84: Could be....but then again it could be his ssj form that is maxed out. According to dragonball wiki, he probably would not use ssj2 because it takes a lot more energy out of you. Apart from the first form. all the other forms are more unstable and are not worth the energy consumption ratio.

@arviagent13 the elecrtic effect looks like ssj2 but its only when he powers up after that he looks like he is at full power ssj1 with the lighter hair but the wiki says the sparks are not always present it also states that ssj2 increases energy output so greater amounts of energy can be used without losing to much energy and becoming exausted given how close the fight was i dont think goku would have held back that said it doesnt realy matter the effect is still the same

@choonz84: Yeah I kind of ate my words on that one. I mixed up his ssj2 form with the Ascended Super Saiyan form. But throughout this whole video, he appeared to have only powered up to ssj1. If you look at the video, it's his bangs that are a dead giveaway. I guess I did not watch very closely, but the only sparks I saw were 5:30-5:50 once when he was charging up to this form. Given that he was exhausted, it would only support the fact that he was Super Saiyan.

If this fight can be compared to what is represented in the games, a Kamehameha wave only takes like half a bar of ki, whereas any other move would probably leach him of so much power that anyone could easily beat him in his first form.

@tahthedon True, though you also have to realize that Dragonball Z was originally meant to end after Frieza, and only continued because of demand by the fans. Not to mention, with the outrageous leaps in power that each villain had as time went on, SSJ and subsequent transformations were the only thing keeping them on par. If you notice, for the latter half of Frieza saga and the rest of the show, pretty much everybody but the saiyans are useless because of SSJ forms.

i would've liked it more if goku stayed in his normal state for the entire fight and fight pikkon as equals. Then he should've turn super saiyan at the end (50x power increase) and demonstrate that there was absolutely no way in hell pikkon could win.
