I finally got to watch all 41 Episodes of this plus the short film. The later episodes are not as good as the earlier ones, but it is worth watching, at least the finale. The actor who plays Spiderman out of costume is 6 ft tall Shinji Tôdô, but the actor who plays him in costume, Hirofumi Koga is shorter. Overall, I liked it better than the US TV & movie versions.

Marvel (American comic company) and Toei (Japanese movie company) were free to use each others characters in the 1970s. Marvel took Toei's giant robots to make Shogun Warriors. Toei took Marvel's Spiderman to make Japanese Spiderman.

Toei also made Digimon, Golion (original version of Voltron) and Super Sentai (original version of Power Rangers). and anime adaptations of Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Yu-Gi-Oh and One Piece.

actually japanese spiderman's eyes are close to the original. have you read the 1970s spiderman comics? this show was made in 1978. if you have never seen old spiderman, search "spiderman theme song 1960s".

btw there are interesting videos about asian eyes or anime. if you have an interest in it, search "making jessica alba look asian" or "are anime characters caucasian or japanese".

generally asians don't have slanted eyes except koreans and northern chinese.
