The Genesis had a very good sound chip. Not to hate on anything or whatever, but I remember playing some games that were available on both the Genesis and the SNES, and I really liked the sound on the Genesis much more.
The Landstalker became the first adventure RPG I ever obsessed over and finished. That's why, to me, it will always have a special place in my heart as one of the best adventure RPGs ever.
@shairaptor This music is in the church of the kind of dwarf village (can't remember the name) when you have the black grimor and when you put it on the priest desk :D
@shairaptor By dwarf village, I mean the town after you delivered the people of verla (In french, it's name is Destel). And the other music, I am not able to replace it the game ! Maybe it's a boss...
Not only one of the greatest RPG's available for Genesis/Megadrive, but also one of the best soundtracks. Really fond memories of playing this during my childhood.
Believe me, it IS a good game. High fun factor, but the view can be kind of disturbing in some jumping sequences. But after all, this game was a must have for the Genesis

I didn't know there were RPGs like this on the Genesis back in the day. It's a shame that the Genesis sound sucks even though the melodies are good here.
Actually, the GEN/MD has two sound chips: one with 6 FM channels (with one channel capable of doubling as a PCM channel) and one with 4 PSG channels. For comparison, the SNES sound system has 8 ADPCM, allowing for samples to be used.
And I think it's just a matter of taste (GEN/MD bias here). And it also depends who's handling the sound chip, of course.
I will check it out. It can't be so bad with a name like Metal Squad :D
Obviously I'm biased towards the SNES sound here. I owned both consoles but for me there is nothing memorable about Genesis tunes. Some may be classics but that's as far as it goes.
Did many of the Genesis games have official soundtracks released? I honestly can't remember seeing any around.
I wish I could play it on saxophone D:
I LOVE the game <3
But our Mega Drive/Genesis doesn't work the last time...
(Sorry, if my english is very bad. I'm german ^^')

Looks like a cross between Zelda and Terranigma.
First discovered this game in 2000/2001, at the recommendation of a friend. Got the ROM and played it on an emulator. Loved it.

This music is too intense. I don't think I could handle being stressed out by the soundtrack for 30+ hours.

I'm at the final dungeon, and I think I've played for about 5-7 hours now. It's not extremely big, but it's fun none-the-less.

Tell me that the Genesis music sucks then.

The Genesis music sucks because it only has one chip, if you compare it to the SNES one.
