  • I wish I could play it on saxophone D:

    I LOVE the game <3

But our Mega Drive/Genesis doesn't work the last time...

(Sorry, if my english is very bad. I'm german ^^')

  • Ty KJBonly, always wanted to know about the porn book lol

  • @KJBOnly Wow I checked it out, LOL it's hilarious! Thanks for pointing it up to me, great!!! =)

  • @KJBOnly oh cool! gotta check it out, thanks for the tip :) is there a youtube video for that too? I'd love to check it , sounds funny! :)

  • @KJBOnly where is there a magic book? I've played the games through several times, but thanks for the info :)

  • the tune at 3:14 always used to get me pumped as..strawberry shortcake ftw!

  • @meadymcmeadster i love that music 2 , that when that became the music to the field in the game i fell in love wit the game even more

  • this is an absolute classic

  • The Genesis had a very good sound chip. Not to hate on anything or whatever, but I remember playing some games that were available on both the Genesis and the SNES, and I really liked the sound on the Genesis much more.

The Landstalker became the first adventure RPG I ever obsessed over and finished. That's why, to me, it will always have a special place in my heart as one of the best adventure RPGs ever.

  • never heard that music at 5:14, where is it?

landstalker, best rpg on genesis ever!

  • @shairaptor This music is in the church of the kind of dwarf village (can't remember the name) when you have the black grimor and when you put it on the priest desk :D

  • @flopshal Black grimor? Dwarf village? You mean the underground village before King Noles Labyrinth?

  • @flopshal ... 2. and whats the music at 6:43 ? I have played Landstalker since the 90s but can't remember some musics.

  • @shairaptor By dwarf village, I mean the town after you delivered the people of verla (In french, it's name is Destel). And the other music, I am not able to replace it the game ! Maybe it's a boss...

  • @flopshal Thanks!

  • its funny how this game took me from 1993 to 2007 to beat, yet its still one of my most favorite and best memories from chilhood

  • One of the best games I ever played.

  • Looks like a cross between Zelda and Terranigma.

First discovered this game in 2000/2001, at the recommendation of a friend. Got the ROM and played it on an emulator. Loved it.

  • absolutely love the track at 8:18

  • This game was so God damn amazing and the music rules. I was so upset when they cancelled he PSP remake :(

  • @s0methingwicked Who cares? The PSP sucks.

  • @Timentio6

    With this game, not.

  • Landsalker Forever!!!

  • You got Golds.

  • That first song is cool as hell, Genesis has a lot of really underrated music IMO.

  • yeeeah! here i spend i good time.. not so many knows bout it though..pity

  • Not only one of the greatest RPG's available for Genesis/Megadrive, but also one of the best soundtracks. Really fond memories of playing this during my childhood.

  • dude. this is awesome. please upload the whole game.

  • Good Gravy!! Landstalker?! Classic! Thanks for the upload!

  • Yay, Landstalker!

  • One of my favourite games on the Genesis. Absolutely classic score too.

  • This game looks really good XD

  • Believe me, it IS a good game. High fun factor, but the view can be kind of disturbing in some jumping sequences. But after all, this game was a must have for the Genesis

  • This music is too intense. I don't think I could handle being stressed out by the soundtrack for 30+ hours.

  • I'm at the final dungeon, and I think I've played for about 5-7 hours now. It's not extremely big, but it's fun none-the-less.

  • the music to this game was pretty fucking epic. i loved this game.

  • Thunder Force IV - Metal Squad

Tell me that the Genesis music sucks then.

  • The Genesis music sucks because it only has one chip, if you compare it to the SNES one.

  • Actually, the GEN/MD has two sound chips: one with 6 FM channels (with one channel capable of doubling as a PCM channel) and one with 4 PSG channels. For comparison, the SNES sound system has 8 ADPCM, allowing for samples to be used.

And I think it's just a matter of taste (GEN/MD bias here). And it also depends who's handling the sound chip, of course.

  • I will check it out. It can't be so bad with a name like Metal Squad :D

Obviously I'm biased towards the SNES sound here. I owned both consoles but for me there is nothing memorable about Genesis tunes. Some may be classics but that's as far as it goes.

Did many of the Genesis games have official soundtracks released? I honestly can't remember seeing any around.

  • I think a couple did, but I'm not 100% sure.

  • Looks like an awesome RPG
