  • How dare Roxy Music do disco - and how dare they do it so well, that 30 yers later, it's still HOT!

  • @Broomfield1965 Lol i know what you mean

Played this at a party in Camden Town last month & they went completely bonkers for it...I wasn't expecting it either but maybe the groove was too strong.

  • @Broomfield1965 i remember the outrage-but everyone soon got over it because it was so FAB!

  • I have an opportunity to see Bryan Ferry in concert in a few months but very hesitant as there is nothing worse than seeing these stud muffins trying to look like they are still young but are into their 60"s. Oh well I guess i'll just put on the beer googles for the night

  • This guy sings like a fucking thunder!!! ride it on!!!

  • this music video is epic

  • He's like the younger version of "the world's most interesting man." LOL

  • BRYAN FERRY LOOKS JUST LIKE THE GREATEST LEFT WING FOOTBALLER THAT EVER LIVED...YES HE DOES!...HE JUST LOOKS LIKE JOHN ( 2 TIMES EUROPEAN AND GOAL SCORER IN ONE OF THEM CUP FINALS) ROBERTSON...OF NOTTINGHAM FOREST FC.....

  • found this by looking for Velvet Goldmine songs. so thankful. =]=]

  • Basically, if you dont like roxy music your a dick!!!

  • This was the 80's before there was the 80's it looks like.

  • Roxy Music were so cool when in 1979 i was 13 years old...and still cool now and im 43.....Long live this music....pure Class...still sounds as good Now as then....

  • Witness arguably the most gorgeous Ferry moment in "The Price of Love" video posted. Krave that man !!

  • you can see that Robert Palmer based himself on Ferry which isnt a bad thing coz both guys rocked in dinner suits.

  • Great song! Better than all that sheep shagging mainstream crap that's out just now in the charts!

  • ♥ .

  • he kind of scares me lol

  • he was such an individual. He was differant. Dont see any male singer like that now ! Its very rare. They all look the same.

  • I still play this cassette, even with the distortion...lol.

YES! ...I've gotta find the CD....

  • Great Band . Great Sound .Great Track. Crap Video

  • Pure Class....beets the hell out of the dross being played to day...

  • hard crap

  • yuck! hard to like bryan ferry as much now, after seeing this crap.

  • @digenovafilm It was the day.

  • 'Trash'.......WTF?? At which point they should have left the building. HYSTERICAL! Trying too hard to be contemporary, and failing. Should have stuck to what they were good at....Classic and original songs. Love Angel Eyes though. Sooooooo cool.

  • I'm in love with the drummer

  • If ya had a blue suit like that women would set about ya. A good aftershave to go wid it aswell would be nice ferry would have pulled tush all over the place crying for pork slab. cool dude

  • great videos of 'trash and angel eyes thanx for the upload

  • They can trace the word "cool" back to Brain Ferry... he is the mystery man of the world..

  • bet ya brian ferry would have had womens knickers sweating of there arses gagging for pork slab

  • This is what happens when you let your friends dad sing for your band......

  • Brian Eno is a devout secularist.....He probably got the hump coz he didn't write this song !!

  • You're listening to this? ... Then get down on your knees before the master.

  • He's one cool son of bitch!

  • Bryan Ferry AND Roxy Music one of the best ever. Loved them in 1983. Went to England in '83 it only confirmed how great the music was. Now I'm 48 and it STILL Rocks!

  • try the groundhogs

  • I didn't think it was possible - a guy looking cool in a pink suit. It takes a certain something to be able to pull that off.

  • One of the coolest bands ever.

  • ok;great tune..stupid as hell video ..ha.

  • He's good at hog-calling.

  • Japan sounds nothing like roxy music. I never understood that comparison and still don't.

  • @fiendwithoutaface66 No comparison musically but David Sylvian styalized ferrys voice for most of japans songs

  • @ajp55a it was due to his tonsils being removed as well from what I heard.

  • he looks the best with his tux

  • no babe hes so fuckin cool , he would fuck the sister and then fuck the mother and then charm his way of of that ....

  • I'm so in love with Bryan! XXXXX

  • Brian is the man

  • Incredible, fucking love it.

  • WHO CARES IF IT JAPAN OR ROXY MUSIC?????? just listen to the great songs from the past and never forget them!!!! Or debate the total Dross that think they are groups and can sing today...

  • PIPS Nightclub. Manchester late 70's early 80's.

  • Man that Manzannera can play guitar.

  • I love Roxy Music, but feel only pity for that drummer and what he was forced to wear!

  • @mmorrison69: quality comment, made me chuckle

  • @mmorrison69 hahahahaha

  • @mmorrison69 Hahah lol

  • @mmorrison69 HA HA HA HA, LMFAO...

    Nice comment dude,

  • @mmorrison6 Fucking right there mate LOL

  • @deathrowguineapig Its true folks, i heard Dale Winton on the radio saying Roxy are going to go on tour, il need to dig out my old suit's and grow a sleazy moustache. I hope Dale baby doesn't get confused!

  • @mmorrison69 One of the funniest comments ever!

  • @mmorrison69 lol

  • @mmorrison69 Really???? :-)

  • Can any one confirm if this Bass Player passed away? He really was awsom.

  • His name is Gary Tibbs. He was only in Roxy for a couple albums, Flesh and Blood and Manifesto, then went onto Adam and the Ants, currently alive and well and playing in The Fixx. A nice guy too!

  • Update, Gary Tibbs is no longer in the Fixx as they have reunited with their original bassist.

  • Fun nice song, we should think about better days! Enjoy folks be nice to each other o.k

  • aaah that man had TWO horns in his mouth. impressive

  • ok where are these videos taken from? I dont have 'trash' on my Roxy & Bryan Ferry video VHS collection that I purchased on video in 1999-ish. (the one with the c rappy, un-roxy like cover!!) has there been a dvd - release that I have somehow missed????? please advise....

  • Well, in the "Slave To Love" video, Mr. Ferry was in drag....so

  • only bryan ferry could wear a pink suit and look cool ;)

  • @TheMarkc too true oh and one the dance away it was lime green startin to think i need sunglasses xx

  • @TheMarkc

It looks the colour of very old chewed up chewing gum , very cool because its been on the ground for a long time LOL. Loved Roxy since 72

  • @TheMarkc Haha.That is true.

  • i live in usa...and i was lucky enough when i was a kid that my mom was into roxy...alan spinner was his bass player during this time..and when i heard the same old scene i loved it as a child..my dad is a phd in music so i knew it was the bass i liked...alan spinner was such a great player..and deserves more in memory for being a great fretless player..my other fav fretless player has to be pino palladino who played with paul young..jaco is great yes but a bit before my time..

  • Right on, man. I totally agree w/ you on that one. And Same Old Scene is my favorite bassline ever. The Glimmer's Remix of that song really showcases that bassline.

  • Bryan Ferry looks like he's tripping off his tits, but it's still brilliant

  • i have seen Roxy Music in Manchester and Liverpool,England,Lisbon,Munich,Rome,Helsinki,Wellington,NZ and Madison Square Garden in 1976 when they were the Headline Act for the Ramones

  • I wanna buy Bryan Ferry a drink

  • @macksennett I would prefer he buy the drink. I think he'd prefer it that way too :)

  • I'd rather buy the two birds on the harp a drink.

  • Bring condoms.

  • Saw them 2 years b4 this was released @ Hollywood Paladium. Ferry acted like the coolest guy in the room. No one seemed to mind, because he clearly was.

  • great song they were better with eno though

  • not the best RM period, but it's great.

  • This music video is HILARIOUS.

  • that's what I was thinking lol

  • Bryan Ferry is very handsome (even in a lilac jacket) but cannot dance.

  • Of course he can't dance he's a white guy.

    Probably can't jump either.

  • lol.

  • @satorotas93 But still can pull off a naff lilac jacket!

  • @satorotas93 LOL. That's two stereotypes!

  • Comment removed

  • Watch this all the way thru. Video for Trash kicks in at about 3:20

  • Reminds me of early fall, 1982. When MTV played music videos.

  • I still prefer the original album vinyl version (the album came in a brown paper bag marked ROXY MUSIC - MANIFESTO). The original version has a ranuchy gut-wrenching depth to it. This is a bit too clean for me.

  • Garry Tibbs: awesome bassist!

  • Gary Tibbs rocks!

  • I think Jim Carrey would have play a good Bryan Ferry

  • nicholas cage maybe also

  • what about david walliams lol

  • This song always makes me giggle. He's asking "Did you come? I can't tell!" And in such a beautiful, ethereal song.

  • god, just to look like that for 5 minutes!...i'd make the best of it, believe me,...instead of the ugly old shit i am,...and always was!

  • Dont be so down on yourself man.

  • 1:38 whats that about lol

  • Haha, loving that too.

  • This song is so amazing! I just love the guitar and bass in it, and of course the vocals to accompany them. It makes for such a heavenly effect

  • This has always been one of my favorite songs by Bryan and Roxy. Thanks for sharing it :)

  • funky bass line man i love this song

  • Bryans a bloody real cool bloke.

  • The bass player, Gary Tibbs(?), joined Adam and the Ants for the Prince Charming album.

  • Love this song reminds me of childhood. Sunday nights my mother would do the weekly ironing of all our cloths. However, there was a solution to the boredom. Music! We would dance and sing till the task was complete. I remember this as being one of the staples on offer also - The Pointer Sisters, David Bowie and Talking Heads :). Such fun! Thanks for the post. Kind and warm regards,

  • Was Trash released as the b-side to A-E? I like it but it was one of Phil M's least favorite tunes.....

  • Godfathers of New Romantic !!!

  • I thought Adam Ant started the NR frenzy

  • priceless.

  • Shakira not even at all any where near the talent

  • i love the guitar riff. so simple yet so effective

  • geordie boy!!!!

  • Oh how, back in the day, I dreamed of growing up and wearing a gold lame cat-suit and chiffon scarves!

  • I still dream about it :(

  • greg you can't call SP shite, they're not a band that I like and only girls liked them back in the day..Still a few albums made with their own songs playing their own instruments...bit of a rarity now....

  • Lilac suits....

  • yeah man sometimes I really think that Manzanera´s guitarrist is the only valuable thing in Colombia.....

  • bizarro

  • The guitarist is the great Phil Manzanera-the only famous Columbian...

  • I stand corrected

  • It would appear from watching this video that "The Most Interesting Man in the World" spent his younger days playing guitar with Roxy Music (lol). Stay hip my friends!

  • Love the Angel Eyes vid I saw it on totp in black & white back in the day ! Isn't it funny how lots of bands like the great AC DC were into Hell and wotnot trust the great Brian to come up with perhaps the most "celestial" pop tune ! Truly Heavenly Angels on the harp !

  • This song influenced Duran Duran - Planet Earth. Synth is the same and I reckon Japan robbed it as well.

  • Maybe Spandau ballet too?

  • duno about spandua ballet....dont think they sounded like either roxy or duran duran. plus they were shite...

  • @gregingram1970

I think you reckon wrong about Japan robbing that synth sound

Japan's phased synth arpeggio sound comes from Giorgio Moroder. Japan used it on Life In Tokyo (recorded with Moroder) and European Son, both of which predate Angel Eyes. Maybe Roxy robbed it off from Morodor/Japan?

  • japan are not talented enough for roxy to anything from them. brian eno was a pioneer of ambient synth - when japan were immitating new york dolls. life in tokyo was out same year as this. check further roxy tracks with same/similar ambient sound. this is where duran duran modelled planet earth as well- angel eyes...as le bon stated himself...japan - are a product of roxy music/bowie (low)/kraftwerk/tangerine dream/Can/t-rex...and they sound it too.

  • @gregingram1970 Who cares as long as it made good music???...would you be having the same debate today with all the songs that are sampled???

  • @pogsboo

Greg cares - he's totally obsessed with the idea that Japan are a rip-off band.

I love both Roxy and Japan, and also Bowie, Kraftwerk, Can, and T-Rex. I think most bands in the late 70s/ early 80s were influenced by some of these greats.

  • @erictapeworm I think your a person looking for conflict on the net coz your not fullfilling your potential in life. Japan are not unique and quite clearly modelled themselves on roxy and bowie and kraftwerk. you make the behaviour of being passionate about a point into obession. Its you once again trying to turn a postive behaviour into a negative one because you are trapped in a vaccum of negativity and are attempting to project your suffering accross the net to me. Die off.

  • this is the syyth sound japan used on quiet life. you or any other person cannot deny this. japan robbed the saxophone/sythn as did duran duran. japan are not origianal

  • none of these predate angel eyes. you are never going to suggest japan are more talented or origianl than roxy music are you now? dont be stupid. japan are a product of R M and krautrock - can.tangerine dream and kraftwerk and bowie

  • oh no my 'friend' japan took this loop and a lotta other key ideas to japan and also, you know, from bowie, kraftwerk, can and tangerine dream...if it were not for krautrock they be no japan

  • they donot predate this. this album was out in 1979 and recorded 78. life in tokoyo was following year

  • @gregingram1970

Life In Tokyo was recorded in March 1979.

  • @erictapeworm I dont think y ou could prove that and I dont see the importance because japan are a product of bowies low period - much earlier. its ok to be a product of other artists coz all bands are. it just hits a nerve to you or chimes with you coz you never understood that one band is entirely original. maybe back or beethooven but other than that someone inlfluenced japan im sorry to say...strongly.

  • @erictapeworm Angel Eyes was recorded in 1978 according to the album and the single released august 1979. hmmm that sax on this track sounds like japans gentlemen take polaroids ...1980??? hmmmmmmmmmmmm!

  • roxy music robbed their ambient syth sound from japan?? are you trying to assault me with laughter??

does any roxy fans think that roxy stole their sound from the synth pop band Japan?

  • @gregingram1970

Your twisting my words, or deliberately not understanding what I said.

I said that synth sound comes from Giorgio Moroder, not from Roxy or Japan. Japan simply re-usued and developed it for some of their later stuff (Quiet Life)

And Life In Tokyo was recorded before this remix of Angel Eyes, but the point is; both songs were very much of their time

  • @erictapeworm brian eno worked with david bowie on his Low album. Bowie recorded that album in germany 1975. he recorded it in germany because of the krautrock music scence - kraftwerk tangerine dream etc etc. here is where bowie germinated his seed to what became the 1980s sound that bands like - depeche mode(clearly robbed kraftwerk but still super band) duran duran, talk talk, japan and a zillion other new wave pop bands modelled their look and sound from. so germany is the root to bowie...

  • The drummer is wearing astronaut gear

  • Didn't I see them in an ad in Vogue again just last year? He'll go to the grave looking chic!

  • Pure class!!!!!

  • That's a cool rhythm guitar progression during the intro

  • すいません・・めっちゃロキシー好きなんすが、このフェリーさん
