I listened to the David Phelps version. Not bad. But in terms of projecting the drama of the song via the build up from beginning to end, nothing tops this version of "O Holy Night".

Whereas David Phelps held a strong note at his conclusion, Mariah Carey was angels rejoicing in the night sky over Bethlehem. No other human, in my opinion, has ever been able to capture THAT; nor, in my opinion, will anyone ever be able to do so.
