  • Kill the enemy and take care of their family later... Seems like a script for a movie :P

  • ooohhhh i cant keep my tears falling down....

  • madness? this is.......well you all already know :D

  • wonder what happened after that

  • Nobody amazed about the kill?

  • @kevke006cp What is amazing about the kill? A baboon is hardly a difficult kill for a leopard. A single baboon poses little to no threat to a leopard, even a female cub such as the one in the video. An entire troob of baboons is what makes them dangerous to leopard. Power in numbers. The same is to be said about the hyena. A lone hyena is not a match for an adult leopard, but they are never alone. Leopards know this.

  • Leopard is confused because all cats expect pray to run, and they instinctively chase and choke. Since the baby baboon is totally clueless and vulnerable, the cat (which also already ate mama babboon so it is not hungry anymore) just sees the baby as a curiosity to play with.

There are no "feelings" here. Stop trying to humanize beasts. Just wait until it is hungry again...

  • sorry kid,,,i didnot know

  • not having a fridge it is good idea to keep your meals fresh until next dinner time.

  • nah, she was just taking care of it until she was hungry again....... then she'll eat it.

  • Is the voice from Scar, the bad lion in Lion King ???

    jeremy iron ??

  • morning when I wanted to breastfeed, served as a snack

  • Sad but amazing the reactions among animals.

  • it means leopards have soft corner in their hearts

  • probably its the mother instinct of leopard. She thought it was her own baby

  • a baboon by itself isnt so tough without its clan around is it?, a leopard never forgets who their enemies are and when to strike when its at its weakest.

  • An award deserving, outstanding documentary....and footage...! ! !

  • it would be cool if the baboon walked like a Leopard.

  • and who said humans were the only ones capable of having emotions!!

  • @greenwood130 they dont!!!!!!!!!!look at the republican party....

  • @greenwood130 only idiots say that! >:)

  • iv seen a lot of stuff on travels in different parts and places of the world and iv seen a huge number of videos of animals etc but nothing impressed me that much.

    omg.

i never thought this was possible. how good are the chances for such an event.

  • the baby looks like dewy from malcom in the middle

  • even as a cold blood killer the leopard has mercy on baby animals .

  • OUTSTANDING FOOTAGE

  • Damn interesting!

  • Motherly instinct. Only a mother could understand why.

  • Wow.... this proves animals have deep feelings..

  • @IdyllicShepherd haha ok mr. self righteous have you ever watched the news?

  • This would make a good plot for a disney movie. The leopard kills a baboon for food and then doesnt notice the baby. And feels guilty and raises it, but then gets attached to it and loves it. just sayin good disney option

  • i think he wanted to save him for later... he was licking him like a lolley pop...lol such a cute video

  • @IdyllicShepherd ..This show isn't about saving the animals in the wild. I'm sure they could've and maybe they even did save one when the camera wasn't rolling. THIS show is about us understanding how these animals eat in the wild and how they survive. Nature isn't always a pretty thing. This would've happened regardless of the crew being there.

  • well, in the end, the baboon grows up as a gazelle killer, and everything happens naturaly.

  • @IdyllicShepherd Or they could do the job that they were paid to do and show us what REALLY HAPPENS IN NATURE.

  • i'm sorry kiddy i didn't know ur mom but i'm hungry ..i'm very sorry...

  • hey i watch this at nat geo when i was 17

  • When I was young and looking at cartoons, the bad guys always tried to kill the good guys. I saw some episodes where the good guys finally had the opportunity to kill the bad guy but chose not to, and I thought it was so stupid and will never happen in real life... but now I am seeing the same thing here. I have to re-adjust my opinion of these cartoons.

  • I wounder how long was the baboon alive for

  • who says that these wild animal has no feeling or mercy? even bitter enemies has mercy & it's well proven here on this video.

  • i dont know why everyones going awwwwwww look at the leopard cuddling the baby...anyone forgot she KILLED its mother? :s

  • Its Beautifull

  • Amazing to say the least. And just when you think that predators only have an instinct to kill. it`s not so...When hunting some of these predators that are not "scavengers" they have rules. What i found was the stealth of this animal was fantastic. Did not devise the help of other leopards a "warrior" hunter to say the least. It`s a carnivore it has to eat. However the leopard did not eat the baby. Stay out the leopards way. (wow)...

  • did he eat his mother?

  • This makes me have so many mixed emotions

  • now.. this makes me have mixed emotions

  • we can see..not all wild animal is predator

  • This is the most amazing nature video I've ever seen.

  • Then the leopard nom nom nom nom nomed on the mother

  • This is like something out of kids story book...

  • Leopard has it's own Heart.

    Thumbs up for Leopard!.

She kills only for his Food... But she realize that it's just Baby, and she Knows how to love the baby, like his own Son.

  • that was nice when the leopard helped the baby baboon for a little while

  • DOES ANYONE REALIZE THE NARRATOR IS JEREMY IRONS (Scar)?!

  • @RevanDuvalcane for real !??!?

  • @RevanDuvalcane holy shit now you say it, weird!

  • beautiful, a great lesson that nature teaches us.

  • thats jerremy irons as the narrator

  • 3:58 " well im screwed either way :("

  • nature is amazing, the leopard hunt a baboon, and realizing what happened was left with her baby and treat it as if it were his own son.

Humans should take these cases as examples, not just trying to survive and be guided by instinct, it is also compassion, respect and courtesy

Nature gives us examples of life constantly, but humans ignore them. all we do is destroy the very nature and everything to satisfy our whims.

If people take consciousness perhaps the world would be a better place ...

  • it is GOD who has put mercy in the hearts of the female for the new born

  • @peace12000

Is this the same God that created animals to feed on other animals? The over billion of years of sentient life feeding off of sentient life?

Your god is a genius for creating such carnage, horror and mass suffering of feeling creatures including humans.

It's time to let go of your fairy tales and leave it in the ignorant past where it belongs.

  • @bacteriumwithbrain God has nothing to do with hunting. It's what nature is. Science, if you will.

  • @wasabi622

Exactly, god has nothing to do with hunting just as he has nothing to do with anything since gods do not exist.

  • @bacteriumwithbrain ..brain. NO argument is fruitfull unless hapens with nutral and in understanding way.nature is a law from GOD. just a simple thing 2 say is tht u may think something 2 b wrong, dangerous or oppresive but tht may b Good, correct, blessing and Just for u. God knows & u dont. and u may think something 2 b blessing and Good 4 u but in reality it may b dangerous and wrong 4 u bcoz GOD knows and u dont.

  • another mystery "The leopard and the baby baboon"

  • Shows that animals only hunt/ kill when they are hungry or defensive....not like humans ....the worst species on earth.

  • Such a beautiful story :)

  • Wow I have seen a video like this before where the leopard was going to protect a baby lion cub from hyenas.

  • baboons seek out and kill leopard cubs. also with smaller female leopards a male baboon can do it some grave damage. the canines on baboons are just enormous

    and can inflict deadly wounds.

  • @use2slam2 Baboons only hunt leopards if they are in packs however, I have watched a leopard simultaneously choke and disembowel a lone, large male baboon. It was probably the fastest and most efficient kill Ive ever seen and animal do

  • scar is the narrator!!!

  • i bet you barry manilow was that little baboons father..it looked just like that mother fucker.

  • this is just woooow

  • sad

  • more like Incredible! sad it had to die. wonder how it would have gone had it lived...

  • this is the best quality copy of this video that i could find on youtube, thank you for posting it! it is an amazing video.

  • a baboon raised by a leopard. thats a deadly combo

  • Nature is cruel. I'm glad that she gave the baboon a quick death, at least... humans eating meat, however, is far more cruel, which is why I don't.

  • @Aprinsa I dont eat meat either, fish as well. Agree with you, people are a lot more cruel, they r cruel cause they concious. And eat meat be a human propaganda is just a money isnt it.

  • @Klonsebia

What about the plants that eat meat? Ironic, eh?

  • This is very interesting and all, but how does the narrator know that the leopard is confronting the hyenas for the baby baboon and not the kill?

  • @nc86prod

he is the narrator.. the ppl that actually shot the video would know from their years of experience in wild life filming. They would be able to tell how animal react

  • it was Madness!!!

  • She licked it like it was icecream... u know what that means? this leopard knows how to save for later.

  • Beautiful

  • oh god, this couldn't be any sweeter. this really shows that maternal instincts and maternal love has no boundries. how beautiful. if only humans could learn to be this way.

  • what happened in the end???

  • Well, the baboon died because of the cold and the leopard didn't eat it.

  • @tiagoesquimo

but how do you know that?

  • The narrator says it.

  • @tiagoesquimo

kk thanks for the heads up

  • how lucky is a leopard he dont need to pay taxes and gain money for live...just humans lol

  • maybe she was taking care of the baby so when it grow up she can eat it.. LOL.. just joking... and its touching

  • weird nature...and sad.

  • baboons no match for leopard ..one claw can wipe out 2 3 baboons at a time

  • @abhijitarege lol one claw ? Exaggeration ?

  • okk..little bit exaggerated..but leopard can kill baboons at a time..baboons no match for the speed and ferocity of the leopard.leopard has more hunting skills then even lion

  • the leopard is vicious

  • ...........and in the morning, the leopard had himself a nice monkey-McMuffin breakfast. The End.

  • come on now leopard get with the programe,or you will be doomed,as nice as it was to see,

  • Wonderfull beyond words. lucky to have watched this whole documentary, and this sequence truly took my breath away.

  • Comment removed

  • for all you assholes that think that you are that important that there is someone or something is listening to you when you prey

the human race which is the only race evolved basically from apes accept it and live whit it ...... PS how ate all the bananas!!!!!! ; p

  • Something terrible will happen to you, poor bastard.

  • @luqmannbr Your comment is funny as hell. I gave you a thumbs up, too.

  • whers d 2nd part of this video

  • its a whole movie.....torrent search national geographic's "eye of the leopard" 1hr and 31 min. of stealth!!!

  • a baboon doesn't seem like it would be that tasty

  • The leopard is Africa's legendry KILLER!

  • this is amazing!

  • Subhan Allah

  • Really? Because a leopard killed a pregnant baboon? Get fucking real.

  • Maybe. either god or an animal taking pitty to another

  • Like, totally irrefutably proven Darwinism wrong?

    Ok for sure.

What it DOES prove is that mammalia have very deep rooted paternal instincts, and thats what proves that morals are indeed natural and also exist within animals.

Morals dont have to come from your God at all.

BTW, you know the next day the cheetah ate the dead baboon baby that died from the night cold? You do know this right?

It was so satisfying to see that baboon get taken. They are vermin.

  • I'm surprised that the Baboon would be the Leopards most feared enemy. How come?

  • To understand it you must see "Eye of the leopard". This leopard was attacked by baboons and almos died when it was a cub. Anyway, baboons are a great enemy of the african leopard because they live in groups, they are big, they have big teeth and, more important, in opposite of lions and hyenas, they climb trees very well.

  • @Fonzi79 Because baboons has one of the worlds longest teeth for example :P

  • that was amazing, the most beautifull sceen iv ever see in my life. if we were as them we were better.

  • OMG! that was the cutest thing ive ever seen! I thought the leopard was going to KILL the little thing.

  • i saw the original presentation. if i recall correctly, i believe the leopard does eventually kill the baby. it carries its dead body in its mouth. obviously this doesn't show it.

  • amazing!it's jeremy irons!

  • when maternal instinct clicks in, it's shown it's always much stronger than survival instinct, except maybe in humans.

  • If the Leopard continues to not gain from oppurtunities it too will be killed.

  • I immensely dislike it when humans are so thick-headed as to assume that they are the only creatures capable of feeling compassion.

And yet, we're the only species that starts wars in which the leaders send thousands of others to their deaths, the only species to specifically isolate members of their own race as inferior and attempt to change them. How does that make us more compassionate than a carnivore who finds it in herself to defend her prey's offspring? Answer: It really doesn't.

  • Comment removed

  • You know that I'm teasing. But I dont think the leopard is compassionate.

At 3:57 the monkey is like - I just want to go to sleep - this was a CRAZY day.

  • Humans are not the only species to start wars.

  • Well...

That's something you do not see everyday.

  • does anyone know where the rest of this documentary can be found ? Thanks

  • "Eye of the Leopard"

  • so soll es sein

  • damn nature, you're.. comfusing?

  • Unbelievable STORY!AMAZING!

  • It,s called EYE OF THE LEOPARD. Buy it at amazon. The whole thing is this good.

  • omg...this is fantastic..

  • The narration at the end is pretty delicate and affecting in combination with the music and visuals. Good work.

  • He's a very talented actor named Jeremy Irons. The vid is called EYE OF THE LEOPARD. I cannot recommend it strongly enough!!!!!!!!!

  • Ok, thanks. I'll watch the whole thing.

  • i feel so sorry for the baby baboon

  • Animals are best! Would a woman adopted a pig...nopp. just a comparsion.

  • Perhaps a leopard wouldn't adopt a pig too. ;)

And there are people who "adopt" apes/dogs/cats/birds etc.... So animals may be the best, but humans are also animals.

  • Nice!

  • Very peculiar. A lonely Leopard?

  • how could the leopard feed it?

  • I'm conflicted. It did kill the mother but had mercy on the child. The child died anyway, but at least it wasn't mauled to death. How could the leopard have known how to keep a baboon alive? I guess that shows that there is some mercy in nature after all.

  • so did the baby die from the cold?

  • Yes. There is also an article about this, the filmmakers talk about it a little. Google:

"How one leopard changed its spots ... and saved a baby baboon"

  • Thats the least it could do after killing its mom :P lol

  • shes probebly thinking long term:

"ill feed the baby make it grow like hell and then eat it :O"

no just kidding, the video is amazing, cant believe something like this would happen

  • Cool!

  • A simply astounding tale! And to think that someone actually cought the event on tape, makes me think that this might not as rare as it seems.

  • That's a female

  • Great video!
