the 12v cummins is a great motor. but so is the 24v also. there both cummins, the 12v is just as good as the 24v. I've got a 1993 w250 club cab, 4wd, 5speed. If it won't for cummins dodge would have been crappy with GM's 6.2 design in the late 80s. of corse I'm only 20
y is it that the first gens have that turbo sound when you let off of the gas but my 2nd gen has a turbo bark that makes ppl shit there pants i want the sound you truck got its a lot less alarming to me
@derekyellow2005 the old ones are slow...just like the v8 diesels of the same time, inline motors do belong in tractors...but, as like any other diesel engine built to pull....mostly in inline and v8 - v12 configuration, they can pull a barn down, so, they do belong in trucks, just because they are slow doesnt lean they suck....it means they have low horsepower, but they make up for it in torque.....
If they're slow it means they have a long stroke, and a long stroke adds leverage therefore increasing the torque output and lowering the Max RPM. Horsepower is merely the equation of Torque and RPM.
