Also may want to add the LPE extra large dry sump tank. I know in 2009 they revised the design due to oil starvation around high speed turns. I will own a Z soon enough. Now the 2012 GTR is going to go high 10's bone stock stock tires but is still about 17K more than a C6Z. C6Z ZO7 is about the same as the 2012 GTR. Now what I like is on the street with no track prep the GTR is a monster to 100MPH and with simple bolt ons it gains 4-8MPH in trap speed in the 1/4 mile. But to say a ZR1 can't beat it in the 1/4 is a bit of a blanket statement. Stock C6ZO6 have gone 10.98@130MPH on runflat n 11.00@129(Ranger did 10.74 with a DR)

@camirocz Incorrect. A member on CV forum has gone 134 MPH. Ranger did not own the ZR1 he ran those times in so he took it easy on the car. the ZR1 has gone 10.73 now on the stock shitty tires as well. It was done on one of their track rentals at M.I.R. On Avg it seems the ZR1 MPHs about 2-4 MPH more than the ZO6 and ET's about .1-.3 for reasons you stated. Plus it is geared a little longer because of the torque it has down and GM not wanting to blow the lower profile tires off. 19/20" vs 18/19"

The 07's do have some with needle bearing problems so you may want to check your vin # to see if you car falls on those build dates.

none of those videos makes any kind of differences. the fact is that the 10.74 ZR1 time is an OFFICIAL world record for a stock ZR1. You also seem to have your stories mixed up because it was in fact the GTR that was called out for its fake Nurburgring times by Porsche. Porsche conducted their own tests and found the GTR could only muster a 7:54 time which was almost 30 seconds more than what Nissan claimed. Your video of the fake ZR1 lap holds no water.

I think you're missing the point of the GT-R. It can drag pretty well but it's primary focus is handling on the road course. Any 5.0 setup to run 10s @ 120+ at the strip is going to be crap on a road course. That's the beauty of the GT-R, you can pretty much have your cake and eat it too.
The GT-R isn't without its flaws but come on, anyone can buy a 25 year old car, and apply 30+ years of tuning knowledge to run decent times for cheap.
And the 5.0 will be left in PICK N PULL in five years, while the gtr will sell for 50k :) you have to remember that the gtr is not a drag car, GTR 3850LBS VS. 5.0 3100LBS. FOR every 100lbs car is one tenth of a second faster in ET.

a GT570 GTR which did develop close to 640Hp to the wheels ran a 11.0 so this one got to develop at least 660Hp to all four wheels which means it´s developing about 780Bhp due to the drivetrain- and tranny powerloss
plus even stock GTRs do have reliability issues so lets guess how long a 3.8 V6 TT developing around 780Hp will last
The tranny being weak? Yep, but any tranny is weak if you launch a car thats capable of 11's stock day in and day out. Not rocket science, especailly when the tranny is feeding 4 wheels instead of two.

Basically an AWD car can have the same time as a RWD car, but it will be a lower trap speed. It's alot harder for a RWD car to launch. That's why if you're racing when you're already going it doesn't matter near as much, and it's better to not have awd on a track. Ever see the Veyron do good around a track. I will admit the nissan is still an impressive track car though.
140k? Really? They price-gouging it or something? I remember they did that to the shelby GT500's when i worked at a Ford dealer. The MSRP was about $50k, but the dealers were selling them for $70K.
Where I live they sold a ZR1 for 120 or so. That's the price it's supposed to be. The GTRs are selling for 90K , which is 20K more than they were supposed to be, but it's still a bargain I guess, depends on what you like.

In Sport Compact Car Magazine they interviewed the owner of Mines Tuning in Japan who specialise in skylines and he said that they cracked the ecu on the GTR and that the engine comes maxed out from the factory unlike any other Skyline. That sucks! In the same issue Porshe bought a gtr to take to the nurburgring to try and put down the same times Nissan claimed it ran and couldn't even come close. Porshe accused nissan of using differnt tires on their runs. That also sucks. What you think??
I read that up on edmunds a while back, Nissan let one of their drivers meet up with Porche to give them "lessons". Apparently Porche didnt check the fluids and tire pressure which was holding it back from achieving that time. I think the title on Edmunds was Nissan give "GTR driving Lessons"

Many People are critical about the GTR,,have u ever taken a look at the trany,,the damn thing has 6 friction plates,,its an incredible piece of engineering and when you take a look at it then u understand y it cost 20K and the GTR is sold 4 70k,,considering the GTR weighs over 3900 lbs with driver and a 480 hp engine + the grip the launch control develops its understandable why it fails,,if u take a look at at the 3 broken tranny so far i know,,the teeth on the gears are broken..
R35 is not a skyline :S for what i know they don't make these R35's with the inline-6 engine. So, not a Skyline

@niceboy60 while I tend to agree with some of ur statement. The best bone stock ZR1 pass is 10.74@134+MPH. the best GTR pass is 11.25@121.5MPH so a decent;y driven ZR1 will beat a GTR. Now what I like is on the street with no track prep the GTR is a monster to 100MPH and with simple bolt ons it gains 4-8MPH in trap speed in the 1/4 mile. But to say a ZR1 can't beat it in the 1/4 is a bit of a blanket statement. Stock C6ZO6 have gone 10.98@130MPH on runflat n 11.00@129(Ranger did 10.74 with a DR)

@westy44cal First of all zr1 does not trap 134 it traps 132 max.secondly Ranger ran 10.74 with a stock 2006 z06 on drag radials at 129.50 mph he ran 10.73 at 132 mph with a stock zr1 on drag radials.Jmaie furman ran 10.98 with a stock z06 on stock tires!So in conclusion the z06 is better of the l;ine with the zr1 catchng it and passing it at top end.

@camirocz Incorrect. A member on CV forum has gone 134 MPH. Ranger did not own the ZR1 he ran those times in so he took it easy on the car. the ZR1 has gone 10.73 now on the stock shitty tires as well. It was done on one of their track rentals at M.I.R. On Avg it seems the ZR1 MPHs about 2-4 MPH more than the ZO6 and ET's about .1-.3 for reasons you stated. Plus it is geared a little longer because of the torque it has down and GM not wanting to blow the lower profile tires off. 19/20" vs 18/19"

@camirocz I'm not saying he does ..on HIS car. He pulled a 1.598 60' on a stock C6Z. The owning of the ZR1 that he BORROWED pulled a better 60' on runflats than Ranger did with the same car on DR's. He even posted in the thread that he wasn't very aggressive with his launch and just rolled into it so I'm not pulling this info from my ASS LOL.. Congrats on the Z. The 07's do have some with needle bearing problems so you may want to check your vin # to see if you car falls on those build dates.

none of those videos makes any kind of differences. the fact is that the 10.74 ZR1 time is an OFFICIAL world record for a stock ZR1. You also seem to have your stories mixed up because it was in fact the GTR that was called out for its fake Nurburgring times by Porsche. Porsche conducted their own tests and found the GTR could only muster a 7:54 time which was almost 30 seconds more than what Nissan claimed. Your video of the fake ZR1 lap holds no water.

a stock GTR is 90.000€ in my country - but this one was modded

I think you're missing the point of the GT-R. It can drag pretty well but it's primary focus is handling on the road course. Any 5.0 setup to run 10s @ 120+ at the strip is going to be crap on a road course. That's the beauty of the GT-R, you can pretty much have your cake and eat it too.
The GT-R isn't without its flaws but come on, anyone can buy a 25 year old car, and apply 30+ years of tuning knowledge to run decent times for cheap.
I know which car I'd much rather drive everyday.

a GT570 GTR which did develop close to 640Hp to the wheels ran a 11.0 so this one got to develop at least 660Hp to all four wheels which means it´s developing about 780Bhp due to the drivetrain- and tranny powerloss
plus even stock GTRs do have reliability issues so lets guess how long a 3.8 V6 TT developing around 780Hp will last

depending on where you live, you can easily purchase a GTR for 70k in your local Nissan Dealer.
a friend of mine told me that you buy it in Japan for like 50-55k USD, then have it shipped for about 15k.
but keep this in mind, importing takes anywhere from a week to months.
Nevertheless, this machine is beast, even without adding aftermarket parts/tuning. ;)

Basically an AWD car can have the same time as a RWD car, but it will be a lower trap speed. It's alot harder for a RWD car to launch. That's why if you're racing when you're already going it doesn't matter near as much, and it's better to not have awd on a track. Ever see the Veyron do good around a track. I will admit the nissan is still an impressive track car though.

In Sport Compact Car Magazine they interviewed the owner of Mines Tuning in Japan who specialise in skylines and he said that they cracked the ecu on the GTR and that the engine comes maxed out from the factory unlike any other Skyline. That sucks! In the same issue Porshe bought a gtr to take to the nurburgring to try and put down the same times Nissan claimed it ran and couldn't even come close. Porshe accused nissan of using differnt tires on their runs. That also sucks. What you think??
