  • Is this inspired on a Barkers book?

  • @donrafacorleone

    Cabal. Great story.

  • You must rebuild what you've destroyed

  • at 0:32 i believe mushroomheads guitarist uses the same concept for his mask

  • I love this movie! I just ordered it off amazon! The trailer does not do it justice!

  • Awesome f ilm-made back when movies were worth watching at the cinema. Has a great plot between life and death- just when you thought monsters were the bad guys.

  • You lost me at "at man called Moon." Also, isn't this the X-Men plot, but with a human savior for the Nightbreed clan?

  • @noizyme No it's "a man called Boone."

  • @noizyme Oh you mean in that alternate reality where X-Men's concept was original?

  • Anyone else notice the Aliens music (when the reactor was about to blow) that kicks in at 1:40?

  • Someone needs to get guillermo del toro on a remake stat,it's right up his alley and it would be awesome!!

  • 5 people are utterly retarded.

  • Haven't seen this one in forever. Loved it, the monsters were so cool.

  • Saw this movie when i was young finally found it's a great movie for all ages I finally found the name know I got 2 go look 4 the movie lol

  • Saw this movie when i was young finally found it's a great movie for all ages I finally found the name know I got 2 go look 4 the movie lol

  • 90s horror movies were always the freakiest

  • Shut the fuck up your meat

  • Now THIS is a movie that deserves a remake. A solid concept and a good story, but with dated production values. If we had a remake with a good up-and-coming director, a decent budget, and Clive Barker writing the script himself, we'd have one hell of a movie.

  • @MrStephenRGilman Remake? Too many remakes needs a truthful sequel to carry on it's legacy was a very interesting plot that never got its time to shine.

  • @MrStephenRGilman Dated production values? Please, I have more respect for practical effects than any cg diahrea that's ever fallen out of Michael bay's ass.

  • @MrStephenRGilman The practical effects in this film are great, and show far greater craftsmanship, innovation and ingenuity than anything generated on a computer. I camera effects, models and practical effects are incredibly inspiring, and they show that imagination was still alive in film until the modern CGI-lead obsession with 'photo-realism' killed it. Honestly, outdated CGI which was once 'state of the art' is far more jarring than top notch practical. Cue: The Thing.

  • Sounds such a cliche but the book was much, much better. The book that got me into reading when I was about 20. Waited for the film with much anticipation and was so disappointed, it was a total waste.

  • This looks like a very interesting movie.

  • This films awesome Clive barkers one of the best horror writers

  • Aliens music?

  • @reniisgod sounds like it

  • does anybody remember the name of an old movie... about an old farmer that used to keep body parts in a shed and make people from it??? kinda like frankestein.. its an old movie X_X..... i cant remember what it is called

  • @dongerado That sounds super familiar.....now Im going to go crazy thinking about it, too, ha ha ha

  • @SUP3RZ0MB1E welcome to my hell lolz

  • Horror Cirque du Soleil.....Great!

  • amaaaaazing

  • absolutely shite trailer to a real underrated movie. Morgan Creek surely fucked Clive Barker here. I hope for that uncut DVD one of the days.

  • Is that Ash? (didn't watched it : p

  • This shit is real.....gay.

  • I dropped acid the first time I watched this!....WOW!!!!!!!.....I'm still not sure I've recovered!!!!

  • Classic and So were the comic books too. I still have some of them.

  • i think in the movie they were calling him spoon

  • only one chance..MOOooN!! Ah man...called MOON XDXDXDXD

  • What did that black demon say?

  • @PSYCHONIHC "What chance have we got? they're armed!"

  • a darle play a ver que onda..

  • god is an astronaut

  • Haha I love how these old trailers give away almost everything. The worst was the Fright Night trailer. It literally showed everything including the ending. Nightbreed is great btw!

  • This movie came on showtime last night I was like what the f***.

  • @mickeynw129 How bizarre. I missed that showing so I'm gonna watch the trailer first then see if it's worthy enough to watch. =)

  • Even though it isn't as Barker intended, this film is still great. Anyone who enjoyed it should check out the book - in fact, do yourself a favour and read everything Clive Barker has written; check out his artwork, and await eagerly for forthcoming visions!

  • looks fairly shite to me

  • LAME

  • this movie was made in my city yo ahahahah thats sick

  • This looks cool, but is it really a horror-movie?

    Looks more like a comedy.

  • Night Breed is "almost" a truly great film. Though I still love it (all the creatures are lovable, Danny Elfman's score is a beautiful tribute to Bernhard Herrmann, and David Cronenberg gives a genius, Oscar worthy performance as the mad doctor), it could've been so much more.

  • Fuck the law, I want meat!

  • Freaks (monsters) with special powers and humans seeking them out and destroying them now where did I see this before?

    Freaks aka Mutans

    Friends of Humanity

    Oh XMEN lol.

  • @PhreakStep yah but xmen was created in in the sixties not 90s

  • hot.

  • awesomeness

  • This is a complety floored film as Barker himself will testify too. I used to love it as a child but as an adult i can see alot of things wrong with it. A Fun but ulitimatly floored film. Fanstatic make up effects though.

  • @69crafty I think you mean 'flawed' LMAO

  • @D3adGoon i was drunk when i was typing! haha

  • Isnt it the "Aliens"-music playing at 1:00?

  • @KageboshiWashu Yep. One of the most popular pieces of music for trailers. That and Men In Black.

  • I really liked this, it's a pity they didn't make more.

  • They don't make horror movies like they used to =[

  • @TequilaTommy i know and im only 19 and i like to watch it i watched it when i was 5 all the time now that was horror today there either too gory or just plain idiotic and stupid clive baker was the best in horror and right now im playing his game Jericho which is just plain awesome

  • @TequilaTommy i know,,,,,i miss these types of movies

  • lol this is the first time I hear peloquin's "real voice" (the actor i mean!)

    its so weird :3

  • @Nemo9011 kinda fits though too i think lol...could've really went with either his actual voice or the altered one ad it would've fit well

  • i love this Movie!

  • Book is good the film utter cat shit!

The Amiga video was a load of shit to!

  • saw this when i was way too yoing to see it- cant remember a thing about it (especially that david cronenberg is acting in it?!) looks very chessy, in a good way..

  • can someone please upload the whole movie please?

  • the hardest part for me to believe about this movie was where all the locals were well armed, and it being set in Canada.

  • aliens music, cool

  • I'm almost finished reading Cabal, and have just found out it was made into a movie. From what I've seen in this trailer though, a better adaptation could be made today with Clive Barker being involved in a non-directing role. This movie might be worthwhile on its own though.

I'd rather see the Thief Of Always adapted into a movie. Then again, it might not work.

  • lol this trailer spoiled the entire movie

  • Anne Bobby is HOT!!!

  • he the blue hell boy

  • love that they stole ALIENS soundtrack :D haha

  • Rewatched it lately. I liked the film back then, still do today even though I think the good story wasn't adapted that well to film. The sudden epic stuff at the end (the prophecy and stuff) was absolutly funny this time.

But Cronenberg plays a really scary monster here.

  • The book is freaky as!

  • David Cronenberg was totally genius in this.

  • this is acutally good movie..Im watching it now on VHS

  • the movie and the comic books is what made me want to read the book. the comics were the sequal to the book

  • One of the greatest movies of all time.. its sad that they cut the movie up so bad from what Clives true vision was but still it was an epic movie. I wish he'd make a sequal to this film :(

  • They don't make too many good horror movies today and I'm a young guy but I much prefer the old over the new.I think any true horror fan would feel the same. All the stuff is today is special effects and bad acting.

  • Just seen this movie for the first time tonight. Really liked it! Best horror movie I have seen in a while.

  • Blimey, I remember this film from childhood but couldn't remember the name of it. I just so happened upon this trailer coz i'm checking out all of Clive Barker's film adaptations and lo and behold here is that film!

  • The Nightbreed's god is Baphomet which is another name for Satan. If you read Clive Barker's Books of Blood you know he's "gay". In Rawhead Rex there's a scene where the demon urinates on a priest while the idiot professes his undying loyalty to him. In Nightbreed another priest goes nuts after being "baptized". John Lennon stood on a rooftop in Hamburg and peed on Catholic nuns. What is it with the British and "golden showers".

  • I love this movie but a pity it's not available on d.v.d, so thanks for the clips!!

  • @shaheen408 you can get it on amazon for ten dollars

  • @shaheen408

Actually it is. I have a dvd copy of it (not for sale though, sorry).

  • @ShadowPa1adin Thanks for message, someone told me i could get a copy on Amazon as the last copy i had was V.H.S !!!!

  • I love Clive Barker's work, it so dark and terrifying...it's beautiful. I love this movie. I have this movie on dvd and believe it or not, i have serveral of the comic books from the movie. I love those comics. They're so bloody and scary, it's only something that can come from Clive Barker. I really hope they come out with the dvd extended edition of this film. I would buy it in a heart beat.

  • @MrHorrorking13 I have yet to see this, but you and everyone who likes this ought to read the novella this movie is based off of. It is called Cabal and is amazing.

  • Clive Barker kicks Stephen King`s arse!!!

Makes me proud to be British!!!!!

  • This movie is so scary imo, there's beautiful things but also pretty scary things ! Great movie by the master !

  • I dont know whats wrong with me but I loved this movie when i was 20 and I still wish there was a place I belonged and found with a family of like beings

  • CABAL!

  • My second favourite Clive Barker film. Also the character that carries the little dog around with him in this movie is Simon Bamford the guy who played the Butterball cenobite in Hellraiser 1987 and Hellbound hellraiser 2.

  • What`s your Favourite???

    Mine is Lord Of Illusions!!!!

  • gooooood post :D

  • Some people bash this film. But I find it very enjoyable . I I have the VHS unrated copy.

  • Clive Barker ,Hugh Ross ,& Oliver Parker Will be at Horrorhound Weekend This March in Indianapolis..

  • This trailer looks WAY better than the tv commercial. I thought it was a slasher flick....

  • I remember watching this first time as a kid and as horrific as these people looked I thought was quite a good movie. Better than Hellraiser.

  • great movie, however this trailer doesn't do it any justice tbh.

  • I remember my parents freaking out whenI rented this as a kid. It was years later before I got to see the whole thing.

  • Clive Barker is a true master of horror.

  • @LordLawnGnome I'm re-reading Cabal (aka Nightbreed) He's amazing. I just finished Damnation Game. Amazing. If you've not read Damnation Game, you should.

  • @LordLawnGnome

Danny Elfman is a true master of filmmusic.

  • Song from Aliens

  • This movie was rad. I really wish that it didn't get screwed on advertising and edits. Dammit.

  • Great film, very bizarre and original. I bought the novel today, looking forward to it..

  • Wow! i was randomly going through suggested movies for me on netflix and came across this one. Looked 4 the trailer on here and as i was watching it i remembered watching this with my cousins at my aunts when i was maybe 8 or 9. Always been a horror movie buff obviously. This movies is unique though... A must see for fellow random genre movie buffs... :D

  • this movie was great and i loved the novel cabal

  • isn't that that guy that was on hellraiser 5 or 6?

  • Yes it is, Craig Scheffer.

  • David Cronenberg kicked so much ass in this.

  • looks good never seene it but i will soon change tht

  • This were like the first mutants fighting humans and yes it was from the 90´s, 1990 to be exact.

  • for me clive barker is just as great as john carpenter in directing movies

  • The monsters in Nightbreed reminds, me of the people at Manumission,

    in Ibiza.

  • i hope someone can answer this : but is there a directors cut of the film? because at :55 seconds theres a scene with peligun that is niot in the movie , a matter of fact , there are ALOT of scenes that where not in the movie in trailer.

  • a lot of scenes were cut out and even the enging is different, I think the total cut out was around 30 minutes from what was originally done (there was even a sex scene between Peloquin and Shuna Sassi deleted out), and Clive Barker has said that he would like to do a directors cut DVD- but all the footage is lost in the studio vaults! Hopefully it is found, but even then i don't think they would do a directors cut of such a little rather unknown cult movie (sadly).

  • It's all been found, but Fox won't release it. The full version is 159 minutes long - about 57 minutes longer than the cinema release.

  • It's rather insulting that the studio rehashed the 'Aliens' soundtrack for the trailer, too. Just noticed.

  • 80's? this movie was made in 1990 and i agree it would be a cool remake, too bad they're remaking hellraiser first. i hope it doesnt get ruined =/

  • they need to remake this movie with the effects we have today it would be awesome it'd the biggest horror movie of the year

  • where can i watch this movie online for free?

  • 'Cabal' is a terrific novella. But the film adaptation is quite lacking, especially visually: Barker just couldn't light a scene to save his life in this film. The cemetery looks (and is) horribly a set, and, other than Midian, the film really drags in style - which is a real shame. David Lynch should have shot it.

  • I too own Cabal and loved the novella. What bothered me about this film is that it was obvious 20th wanted to franchise this like a "Freddy" or "Jason" thing. I agree another director should have had this, but the best part of the film was the opening name with the promise of monsters behind it. That was exciting but the film couldn't live up to that!

  • Indeed. The promise of the monsters was spoiled, I think, by Barker's inability to light and direct them. The opening sequence, where the monsters emerge from the cemetery, has them jumping about like something out of an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. There's no menace, and no wonder.

I think this film is the very definition of 'the one that got away'. Such promise and talent - and such a mediocre result. A terrible shame, given Barker's clear (writing) genius.

  • Well weren't the monsters in Nightbreed supposed to be only hostile if the cemetery was breached? I liked it, I like all of Barker's movies. And his books. The short story - The Hellbound Heart was the greatest thing I've ever read.

  • Loved the book!

Found the film a bit lacking, i thought it built up the suspense well at the start, then i think it lost a lot of it's mystery with monsters that didn't really meet with my expectations..

They seemed a bit more like Star Wars cantina background characters or Star Trek extras..

The actor playing Boone was a bit wooden too..

Thought David Cronenberg was okay in it though..

  • They should remake this. With today's latest innovations, and the overall concept itself, it would easily be a success.

Especially for those who can appreciate the concept of a band of inhuman misfits fighting an even more dangerous and stupid creature: Humanity

  • my art teacher told me to watch this movie and it looks pretty sick.

  • Cabal is a pretty good book :)

  • Absolutely terrific. Films like these are umm... a dying breed. Cronenberg and Barker are twisted-originals.

  • 1:02-1:18 is an excerpt of the track "Bishop's Countdown" from the movie Aliens, composed by James Horner

  • fucking Love it

  • This is a brilliant film. I wish people would realize that.

  • esta pelicula es importante pra no irse con las apariencias

  • this scared the shit out of me when i was little

  • All the monsters had a certain crapness about them,Very BBC make up. 0.43 makes me laugh.

  • nice fuckin movie, cant wait to del Toro's remake!
