Dusty Springfield had a very similar sounding single out at the time called "All Cried Out" which was also originally recorded by an American (Darlene Paul).

I first saw her in the Kings road Chelsey in 1968 when she would be a guest singer with the humphfrey Littleton band on more than one occasion
