  • haha v8's? Toyota produces the most fuel efficient car and the fastest street legal quarter mile car, "Toyota supra" you American car fools!

  • screw earth screw prius!!! gimme my V8 challenger or my vette and if I have enough giove me my camero and let the prius walk behind. TREE huggers . Who needs a slow boring car in today's wide open roads. pussies.

  • @Raja221 camaro / mustang / charger give me V8power with no BS .. better yet give me the V10 viper and let me smoke some ricers in it. POWER is what I like ... This car wont save you from a collision when a punk doesnt let you get over for an exit but a V8 can. This wont let you accelerate entering a high way but a V8 can. TREE HUGGERS.

  • This will be my future car!

  • And, even without cruise control, it drives itself. Sudden acceleration

  • @BermudaGreenNox your a wack o Hell no... Look no matter if we all walk to walk transportation fo imports exports is huge.... also I see you a hater of Toyota Please Sudden acceleration yeah for the assholes getting caught lying aka Jim Sykes...TOYOTA FOR LIFE... AND WHEN THE PLUG IN PRIUS COMES OUT WHOOOOW WHO!!!! iM ALL IN THEN 15 MILES OF PURE EV YEAH BABY I WONT HAVE TO PAY FOR GAS! KICK ASS GM SUCK ASS

  • @biggiejackson and just what makes the electricity to charge your cock mobile...hmmm coal fired power plants dumbass, the prius is ass ugly, slow, cheap made, expensive, and not green at all considering what is takes to produce one of these shit wagons, i will keep my 77 corvette and you can keep your boring electric box

  • the arguments about european cars being beter than japanese cars is so subjective, the simple fact is if you want a reliable, affordable and mostly good looking car then buy japanese. if you would rather pay tens of thousands more and get a more luxurious but less reliable car then buy european. my opinion is generally japanes cars offer far better value for money as they offer almost everything europeans do at a far more affordable price.

  • Sure the Prius is good, but its not the answer to our problems. We need to take pther steps(walk, bike, telecommute) before we buy a Prius

  • @BermudaGreenNox but you cant walk 27 miles every day to work? so that not enuff like it or not Prius is a Big step in the right direction

  • @biggiejackson instead of walking that far or driving, what about walking or biking PART WAY and then taking a bus, train, subway, etc?

  • @biggiejackson prius is not green, they are a shit load of pollution involved in producing one of these pieces of shit

  • i dont care how good for the environment it is, it is stiff fucking ugly

  • Why do Japanese have to import those crappy goods from the U.S.? The quality of the products is what everybody really needs all over the world.

  • @hentaikamen japanese cars are bicyles with 4wheels. how is that quality?

  • True, they laugh at everyone and think there so big. Every European Government and any Government with some pride should stop them importing there crap good's including there absolutely bland car's which like the Germans are massively based superficial "reliability", trying to make out that driving a boring car is good because it last's longer.

  • Ford Escape hybrid which came out 6 years after the Prius is based on toyotas technology

drivetrain made by the same japanese company Aisin Seki

and the battries? yes Panasonic/Sanyo Nimh batteries same as toyota

  • Japanese cars are quality & cheap too and easy to maintain(no idea about Prius), not unlike Earopean cars that are so expensive and the spare parts are hard to find.

  • Japanese car's are BORING! They are "Reliable" and "Quality" and even "Cheap" but they have no soul like some of the European and even American car makers have.

  • what on earth is that a soul in a car? that's the stupidest thing i've ever heard. catch a ghost and trap him inside ur car how cool is that?

  • Prius is just BORING

  • @thomashome05 This is just your opinion. For me, Japanese cars have much "more" soul and facial expression than American ones (except for Ford, these are quite nice). Of course I mean leading companies just as Toyota, not some kind of shitty Daihatsu. Seriously, nobody can claim "These cars are the best". I respect everyone's opinion and your is not an exception. Just pointing it out :-)

  • My friend has a VW Bug- 2006. Some parts fell off and he used a whole tank of gas to find all the parts so he wouldn't have to spend the money at the repair shop.

  • Now that's a beautiful car!!!

  • I owned 3 american cars... I can tell you first hand they were junk... I currently drive a honda civic, had it longer than my previous cars combined... Looking at it from a non biast point of view, japs no how to make damn good cars...

  • wow great theme for a commercial.

  • Amazing ad. Terrible car

  • Piece of Japanese crap we fought the Japanese, All asian countries hate the Japanese, if we can just get Bush to move out the way Japan will get slauthered.

  • HARDCORE REPUBLICAN, you are an ass and an embarrasment to the US. Yes, we won the war with Japan. But then we rebuilt them in our own image, showing them a thing or two, with a similar constitution to ours. And because they changed from a fuedal empire to a system similar to the USA they succeeded, big time. I congratulate them for their hard work, and thank them for showing us a thing or two.

  • Does anyone know if this is original music or licensed? If licensed, who is it? Thanks!

  • Most of tham are produced only for a singel spot like that and will never be published in cause of corporate design and idenity.

  • Hybrid cars are a joke. There built to take money of rich people who want to feel as if there helping the enviroment. Watch a video called "are hybrids really fuel efficient"

  • people hate change....but change takes us places....it might only be the first step...it might not be the best...but it is a step. We have built most of our current societies on the reliance on fossil fuels, they will run out.....we need to develop alternative or reduce our reliance. My prius gets delivered in July.....my current car is a 1989 GMC Savana Full Size Van. I'll keep the V-8...but we need alternatives.

  • A Prius isnt an alternative it still uses fossil fuels. A Polo Bluemotion or Diesel Aygo would use far less fuel. Hybrids are good but you can get better for less than half the price.

  • i'd take civic hybrid over the cheese wedged shaped prius thank-you very much. i like toyota's but they need to redesign prius to be more sporty and competitive with the civic hybrid or HERES AN THOUGHT FOR TOYOTA why not make the best selling corolla and make it into a hybrid now that would be competitive with civic or any other hybrid.

  • The Prius is already competive with the Civic Hybrid, The Prius is faster and gets better mileage, check out the Edmunds compartive review of both cars. Edmunds stated that they really wanted the Civic to win because they were so tired of handing the Prius the #1 spot, but in the end they gave the #1 to the Prius...again.

  • The other factor ro consider in the well to wheels equation is how far wass the car transported before you bought it? If you are Japanese then a Prius is a good idea but to transport the car to UK or even USA means extra emissions from shipping and road transport. Ships emit over 10% of greenhouse gasses - more than 3 times aviation. So buy local.

  • That would make a difference only if the Prius was the first car to be shipped from Japan to USA/UK, yea its polluting but thats gonna change here very quick. They are gonna start retrofitting big ships with sails to reduce emmissions. The prius is still the best option..vs American made hybrids.

  • Actually, most Toyotas are built at one of Toyota's 11 U.S. manufacturing plants.

  • No PRIUS is made in the USA! Toyota is the world's largest Auto maker and hey have been extremely clever at hiding the fact they emit more CO2 than any other car maker by selling the Prius idea to Hollywood stars. I accept that gas prices help sales in 2007 but keep an open mind on what is the best way to drive eco-nomically! You might be better off buying a US built BMW

  • I would never Buy US... Americans are built cars suck.... all my car VINs start with JT..... Go Toyota..... and FYI GM imports veh from Mexico and Canada....LOL we import " American Built" Cars

  • American auto makers still make way more cars here than Toyota or any of the other foreign autos do.

  • I Dont Buy US Built Nothing DID You Check JD Power Today... Toyota #1 14 year in a Row.... How Fucking Dumb would I be to By a GM? them shits DONT FUCKING LAST MAN...and Toyota Hires more americans than GM... That BS about a Hummer polutes less than a prius Get the Fuck out of here! Fucking Urban Meth lol only drug heads buys that shot 9-11 mpg compared to 45-55 mpg.... YEAH FUCKING RIGHT!!!!!!

  • Does anyone know if the ad's music could be gotten somehow?

  • Toyota who have been very clever in marketing this car as ECO friendly - it helps their image to hide the fact that as the world's larger auto maker they are responsible for the making a lot more highly polluitng cars than their loss making Prius'. Also modern diesels put out LESS climate change emissions than petrol cars so your last sentence is factually incorrect and sadly a commonly held view among old school US drivers.

  • Sorry fella. It is a measured fact that the prius pollutes less than a deisel. I am actually a UK driver. The original Prius WAS subsidised and therefore a loss maker, the current Prius has just been voted UK car of the year and is actually very profitable. The Prius is not the final answer, I agree, but it is a neccessary step to change attitudes. Deisel, petrol whatever we cant go on as we are.

  • OK so my dieswel puts out 81g/km CO2 with 4 adults on board. A Four Two diesel puts out 90g/km CO2 with 2 on board, a Polo Blue motion puts out 99 g/km CO2 and the Prius is just behind at 104g/km Co2 (assuming you drive mixed cycle - if just motorways it's much higher. 50mpg sounds good - is that measured or just using the built in computer? My Audi averagese 83 mpg and can achieve well over 100 mpg in rush hour traffic over 30 mile trip.

  • Dude, obvious you have never driven a Prius, because the whole point of the Prius is that it does NOT run in mixed mode all of the time. A third or more of my stop and go commute time is either 1. Stopped with no engine running, 2. In all electric mode while moving, or 3. Where neither the engine or electric is delivering power, and yes this is with the car moving, Prius owners call this mode Glide mode, it works and amazing to see in action and very surprising to see how much it gets used.

  • I think it is a smart choice with gas prices. I bet the next generation will be more powerful and get better miliage. I'd wait...the car looks odd too but I like it.

  • niggaz i be bangin up in my prius

  • cool, i will definitely buy it!

  • What a joke.

  • Sadly USA drivers ignorant of modern diesel tech. Only ONE % of USA cars run diesel. If 30% diesels then USA would use far less imported oil - in fact equivalent to all imports from Saudi Arabia! Prius is not a real world solution. Only of benefit on short trips/low speed.

  • In actuality, the automotive companies that make efficient diesel engines aren't looking for a solution to the problem, they are making a buck out problem. Do you have any idea why VW and Audi aren't selling their efficient cars to the US? Well its quite obvious. Its just like the cotton companies outlawing hemp oil, and the abrupt discontinuation of electric car production in the US.

  • If advanced diesels and electric cars were introduced in the US market, trillions of dollars worth of fuel wouldn't be consumed. Ergo, the oil companies prevent these technologies from mushrooming in the US or they will shrivel-up and die.

  • The Toyota Prius (and other hybrids) is the best we have in the US. Since a hybrid car

runs primarily on petrol engine and use no fuel on electric mode periodically, the oil companies don't see them to be a big threat to their affluence. However, hybrids are potentially electric vehicles.

  • Sorry Pal. I cant agree with your last sentence. My Prius has just passed 143,000 miles (5 years) without a day off the road due to breakdown. She returns 50 mpg on avg even though my boot (trunk) is always full of heavy demo kit. She spends most of her time at 70 - 80 mph on motorways and is a 5 year old classic, not even the current model. Deisels do give better mpg than the Prius, but spew out many more tons of greenhouse gases.

  • Prius ok around town but still just a gas guzzler on the highway when it becomes a 1.5 litre petrol car. A better hybrid is the Honda Insight with better mpg. Remember the Prius weighs 1.3 metric tonnes! Any car over 1000kg is over weight and will emit more CO2/km than necessary.

  • Mid to high 40's on the highway at 70MPH. Hardly gas guzzling.

  • mid to high 80 mpg for diesel A2 1.2 TDi so I can't agree entirely but better than an F250 !

  • diesel does not produce green house gases, the emissions break down easily and return to the environment. Production of batteries like the ones found in Priuses do terribly pollute and destroy our ozone

  • At anything >40 mph and a hybrid uses >fuel and pollutes >global warming gases than modern diesel. Reason? Extra weight: batteries+motors to drag around. Audi A2 1.2TDI can run biofuel but with normal diesel puts out 81g/km CO2 and 66MPG at average 91MPH on Autobahn! Normal driving A2 gets 100MPG. Prius weighs 1.3T, A2 0.9 T

  • Toyota ordered to drop TV commercial for hybrid vehicle

    · Watchdog rules that ad exaggerated car's benefits

    · CO2 figures were based on American average mileage

A television commercial for the Toyota Prius breached advertising rules by exaggerating the car's environmental benefits, the advertising industry watchdog says today

  • Why do you post exactly the same garbage on every prius page?

You probably are an employee of GM worried about losing his job because GM lacks innovation. GM can't keep up with Toyota and European car manufacturers. Just look at the stocks from the past few years, and you know i'm right.

  • Watch "Who Killed the Electric Car". It's a documentary. I think if everyone saw that, many more people would want a plug in electric car.

  • i absolutely love this commercial!! "the world's been moving, it just hasn't been moving forward." it rocks.!

  • I'D RATHER PLUG IT IN..

  • if the design wasnt so lame I would buy this

  • no need to plug in? that should be standard! plug in hybrids are the way of the future! they already are in Europe.. why not here? they run on the electric engine, using no gas, until the battery runs out! of course theres other ways of doing this, but this plug in hybrid should be happening now!!!

  • That car is damn smart!
