  • i used to like the 'brainy lecture' segment

  • This show was a good way to introduce kids to the writings of Lear and Carroll. I went to our local library and found a book of Lear's verse and found it amusing. I can still remember the call "Plant for Mrs. Discovolous!" But would they dare show animation on TV today set to Lear's "The Dong With the Luminous Nose?" Sounds suggestive if you know what I mean.

  • I used to watch this religiously. I didn't remember that it was Lear and Carroll, who as I grew up I became huge fans of. This is such a lovely blast from the past. I wish they'd bring it back, I'd still watch it now I'm 45!

  • A classic that was WAY ahead of its time....

The animation wws provided by the UK's legendary Halas & Batchelor, whilst the character voices were performed by Golden Age Doctor Who alumni Peter Hawkins & Bernard Spear. The signature tune & incidental music was by MAury Laws. Based on characters and writings by Edward Lear & Lewis Carroll...with a little help from scriptwriter Romeo Muller. This programme was PURE GENIUS!

    Thanx fer the clip, m8.
