  • i too wish i could go from 17 to a "kid" =)

  • Good old times. I always liked this song, especially in the summer of '85.

  • I'm not criticizing this song at all, I've always loved this song, still do, I just always thought it sounded a little Expose - ish. Doesn't it?

  • @mlabarre2 Since Expose was later than Alisha, I guess we should say that they sound "Alisa-ish" :-)

  • @zanychris LOL, good point! :)

  • In the 80''s you could go out to a club 7 days a week to have one thing the generations to follow us will never know FUN!!!! GOOD, PURE REAL. With celebs like KARDASHIAN, RHIANNA, ETC. real will doesn't exist.

  • She was big in the NY area back in the day

  • I heard that Alisha and Madonna had some "rivalry" back in the days! LOL!!!!!

  • never again will anything compare to the 80's

  • I saw her perform at a club in NJ called the Soap Factory back in her heyday (1983, 1984?) and she was awesome......

  • Alisha was a Madonna voice clone. Kind of like the girl who sings "Jamaica Funk" and Chaka Khan. Khan eventually started singing that song in her concerts.

  • i basically listened to rock n roll, but these dance club songs ruled.

  • Don't feel old, you should feel sry for kids nowadays who have to listen to jerks like Justin Bieber and Rebecca Black

  • getting old can be depresing i would never judge anyone who has cosmetic surgery. listening to these songs makes you realize how old you are. i'm depress again cuz no matter how young you look your vital organs are still the same age.

  • Oh, the memories this song brings!!

  • this song brings a lot of memories. In 1985 i had just move to ft lauderdale from NY if i'm not mistaking power 96 used to play this jam constantly. i have the cd.

  • i love her . Great song

  • So nice to hear "REAL" music!!!!!

  • I'm 35 and I still rock to this in 2011! love it!

  • @apdelga I'm 56 and I still rock to this ! This era can't be topped !!

  • @andreatutrani YOUR ABSOULTELY CORRECT LONG LIVEFREESTYLE

  • @andreatutrani Rock on my friend :)

  • im an old one too time just slips away graduated hs in 86

  • I was in the studio when they were recording this song and they came very close to keeping my guitar solo instead of the keyboard solo. Oh well!

  • This is when dance music was at it's peak, back in the 80's. This is undoubtly one of those dance tracks that will never grow old. Totally a "kickass" beat like none other from 1985. I have this extended version on a Maxi CD single. Love it, Alisha ROCKS!!

  • I spent 2 years looking for this !!

  • WOW WE ARE CALLING THIS CLASSIC!! SOUNDS LIKE YESTERDAY, MUST BE GETTIN OLD. OH YEA WEARING MY CHEATERS INSTEAD OF SHADES.

  • I cant get enough freestyle music I loved it then I lvoe it now ,

  • love it thanks!

  • 3+ people who disliked were not born on or before 1989 and think the music of the 80s suck.. Well ill tell you this: MUSIC OF TODAY SUCK! LONG LIVE THE CLASSICS!!

  • always the BEST11111111 in my book called freestyle!!!

  • I DJ'd at most of the Jersey shore clubs and in Seaside Heights, NJ during the 80's and I'd have to say this song and probabyly Facsinated by Company B were my big guns. Miss those days.

  • @IFLY7871 Totally agree with you, nothing else came close to the mid 80's dance scene. I was a mobile DJ way back when...I always loved cranking up this tune (great bass) along with "Hooked On You" by Sweet Sensation. Freestyle will always be at the top of my list for putting people on the dance floor. Great decade for music!!

  • BETE NYC TBK..STEALING CARS SMOKEING WEED>>> 1985

  • Damn this is good!!! Great track. Makes wanna jump in a time machine and go back to 1985 Miami!!

  • @diomiami I was there in Miami too brother hitting all the clubs on south beach and coconut grove. I bartended at Cats in the mayfair, man I miss those days, Im in that time machine too let me know when its leaving, later bro

  • Music like this was Miami's finest hanging on South Beach not a care in the world

  • Great club tune from back in my mobile D.J. business days!

  • These were the days of real music.

  • Oh how I dream of those days.

  • This song brings back memories from Junior High School

  • This song was in heavy rotation on Miami,Fl new dance music station back in July of 1985,Power 96 fm. Brings back awesome memories being at the beach(would drive from the Midwest each summer) with the boombox.

  • so great !! love it 5*****

  • this blond blue eyes chic 18 y/o with a nockout boby named aurora showed up in my house at 2am by the way the my best friend gildfriend with a cassette with this son in 1986 and we had crazy sex that nite. i will never forget this son. dam i am getting old

  • my mom went to school with this girl

  • Wow thank you!

  • Brooklyns own- Alisha

  • This song is a classic Jam! Unfortunately they don't make music like this anymore. 1970 thru 1989 best music years ever!

  • Keep playing this song, its always a hot jam

  • This song brings me back in the day when I used to go to this go-go bar (Hot Shots) in North Bergen, NJ. Back in 1987, I was only 17, so I was a minor, but I still got in. The rest of my story is too much information for me to give you all. However, this song brings me back to those days.

  • Still love this song, 25 years later.

  • I love the way this song was written. Quick verse - hook. Great songwriting ability.

  • ahhh, damn, used to love this one! listened to her cassette all the way to Atlantic CIty for a girls weekend! memories....

  • Frankin Street

  • no one said you really HAVE TO grow up !!

  • I love this song! I bought the rare CD, but I am too lazy to find it so I am just chilling on the Tube. I remember it from the 80s. One of the most catching danceable tunes anywhere. Thanks for posting.

  • Bushwick Ave!

  • It still makes me want to move my ass on the dancefloor, but I am afraid of falling and breaking my hip. I wish dance music had stayed like this stuff!

  • Alisha is one of the best singers of the 80's and 90's. She never got the recognition she deserved. She is still arounde singing and performing and always sings live!

  • No doubt about it, this song is BAD ASS!!!

  • I certainly remember this song. This cut. I bought it, and still have it. GreatLLL!L

  • one of the hottest songs then

  • a lot of good songs came out in 1985, this song is not in the top 50--try expose, banarama, sweet sensation, cover girls, giggles, pebbles, c-bank. its a great song but there are a lot of songs in front of it incluiding her other song "all night passion"

  • Nothing, No one, Anything, can compare or ever come close to classic 80s music..NOTHING!....Ive come to depend on my MP3 or just listen to smooth jazz cuz there is nothing but crap on todays radio, CRAP!....

  • This era of dance music is the freakin BOMB

  • hey i saw her in a staten island club, she was awesome-her voice was just as good as on her records...good times ...80s music is unlike any other time

  • i wish i lived in the 80's... im 19 years old.. but i love freestyle music better then the shit we have now

  • @lovelyrhia913

I have a 19yr old, and she loves this music!...she hates todays music....

  • @mxnfx shes very smart... music today sucks lol

  • @lovelyrhia913 I'LL AGREE 2 THAT

  • that miami flavor...

  • Wow so nice to hear about all the nostalgia from our time, the 80's. I always feel nostalgic when I watch 80's shows like Miami Vice, Golden Girls etc. It takes me right back as does Alisha. I owned all of her casettes and vinyl extendeds. I LOVED her. Does anyone know where she is todday or what she's doing?

  • This song eases me when i get depressed about these current times.Makes me slip back into time and the memories of the good old days, esp those cheap price tags !Thank you for the upload.:) peace and love all

  • i was 4 in 1985

  • Thank you Love this song I remember the freestyle times where the best of my life

  • Completely forgot about this gem. I miss the 80s. Our time, Our Music, Our fun. Nothing later even compares. Thank You for posting this!

  • Listening to it again, for the fourth time!

  • How could I have forgotten this song existed! I miss this kind of music....

  • i danced with this Alisha girl back in the day right before she was to preform this song live, damn i miss her

  • i am an old bastard cant believe this was 1985..seems like yest

  • @xsmokedoutx I hear ya - I was 10 going on 11 back in '85...wow the memories!

  • 1985, Sweetwater, Florida. I was 9 & Mom had bought me one of those cheap-ass Nash skateboards from Toys R Us 'cause she couldn't afford the more expensive ones at International Mall (Attitudes). I would hear this song while skating on my cheap-ass 'board. Also reminds me of failing the Presidential Physical Fitness requirements. What was it? Gold Card, Blue card, & the dreaded red card, meaning I couldn't do a single pull-up???????

  • I'm 29 now ,but I can relate. I miss these days soooo much. Back then life was fun and you can drive up and down the street with your music blasting with all your friends. Now days you have to watch out for drive bys if you did that now. Such a shame kids these days have no idea about life period. Freestyle lives on 4- ever : )

  • Wow!! Those were the dayz!!! =)

  • wow...I'm too turned on...can't turn back!

  • had to hear again

  • Miss those days!

  • Awesome.!

  • Excellent !!

  • Nothing like Uncle Charlie's...well, there was also Splash!!!

  • Power 96, Cox on the radio, South beach wasnt happenning yet and club life was great. Uncle Charlie's, Mother's, Fusion, 13 buttons, Double RR

  • 80s music the best for sure..

  • DITTOOOOOOOO!!!!

  • I use to dance to this shit at Weekends in Hot lanta with Ru Paul dancing on stage. This takes me back 4 sure.

  • Nice song miss the 80's.

  • Holy Crap! This takes me back a few years! There was nothing like clubbing in the 80's!! Nepenthe, Ft. Lauderdale!! Oh yes!! Great Song!

  • vinyl classic baby!!!

this rivals so many other great club hits of that era:

Eighth Wonder - Cross My Heart

    Regina - Baby Love

    Madonna - Sidewalk Talk

Jermaine Stewart - We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off

    etc. etc.

but the best '80s dance song vid goes to:

E.G. Daily - Say it Say it

any1 wanna fight me over it?? lol...

  • U might know this song. It's a freestyle song that starts off "Im so good so good for you... I'm so good so good for you" It is sung by a girl who I don't know and it has a very nice heavy beat to it. U seem to know a lot about freestyle maybe you might know the song and artist.

  • Sasha - So Good For You

ive never heard it b4 but i just googled it...

i saw 2 mixes of it on utube too!

  • Thanks man. That was exactly what I was looking for. I tried searching for it and couldn't find it. Thanks a lot man, this was always one of my favorites back then.

  • I have no romantic back in da days story (born in 1982), but it's not necessary, this track is killer anyways. Though it must've been awesome hearing this shit on the radio.

  • And it was awesome seeing it performed live. The 80's were the absolute best!

  • Back in the day I was out at the club dancing with this hot chick when the song we were dancing to ended the DJ says" make some noise for "Alisha" the hot chick turned to me and said thanx for the dance, then jumped up on stage and was singing this song all that time I never knew I was dancing with Alisha damn she was so hott, and great dancer too, luv this song too.

  • That is an awesome story! you were very lucky to have that happen to you.

    from gymnastic gurl's mom!!!

  • Wow! That's a great story! What state was that in? I wonder where she is now!

  • Ah the memories...from Brookly, Bed-Sty...Dekalb and Lafayette...LG - Lafayette Gardens...88th Precint...Pratt Institute...This takes me way back...Love It! Thanks for posting...

  • 80's Miami!! What an awesome time!

  • So you must remember Power 96! Ah, those were the times, so many memories... when Miami was still a livable place.

  • 5:04 shit gets real

  • One of the best Freestyle jams of all time. Awesome for jam skating. Rollarama in Schenectady, NY baby.

  • Oh man I remember seeing Alisha at Danceteria, used to love her jams!!

  • This is one of the best dance tracks from 1985, and arguably the entire decade of the 80's, the beat is simply slammin', especially at the break (4:45), if this track doesn't make you move to the groove, nothing will, an 80's dance track classic!!

  • Ditto!

  • @3811iberis i agree

  • @3811iberis I Agree. I was a Morris Park Kid! This rocked!!

  • @playercool1 Damn, Gates and St. Nicholas, that brings back memories, I wasn't even a pre-teen yet, but I remember Buzz doing his thing during the basement battles, and at the old Oasis Roller Rink back then. Freestyle and Uprock was the shit back then throughout all of Brooklyn and Queens....

  • I love this song...I don't care what anybody says this 80s music will never be beat!!!!!

  • I'm predominantly a 'rock oriented' kinda guy and to this day people still think I'm nuts when I tell them this is possibly one of my top 10 favorite songs ever LOL.

    Dance beat greatness.

  • I totally agree! This is my least favorite type of music, but I absolutely love this song!

  • Indeed this is one of those classic jams that would pack a dance floor instantly!

  • A classic. Thank you for reviving such a cool song.

  • hot hot hot 97 back in the day nyc 1988

  • This is really random, but I realized that the ending credits of Rainbow Brite and the Starstealer has a song that reminds me aot of a cutesier-sounding Alisha song...

  • This was her best tune IMO.

  • Great song!! Brings me back to my fun days in the mid 80's, going out all the time and not worrying about a thing! What else do you have? How about "In The Evening"? Remember that one?

  • Takes me back to the NY club scene in the late 80's. Club 1018 and trying to get in to the "Garage". You would always have fun at the "dance" clubs. No real hostility when you walked across a packed dance floor...people would actually ask you how you were and shit. Not hostile like having to walk with the"mug" on in the hip hop clubs. Good fun, great old days. Word.

  • LONG OVERDUE!!! That's what I say for this being posted. I'm not shouting at u. I'm just jumping for joy at this being here. You made it happen, and you have my thanks for bringing back this song. Kudos and thanks!
