In the 80''s you could go out to a club 7 days a week to have one thing the generations to follow us will never know FUN!!!! GOOD, PURE REAL. With celebs like KARDASHIAN, RHIANNA, ETC. real will doesn't exist.
Alisha was a Madonna voice clone. Kind of like the girl who sings "Jamaica Funk" and Chaka Khan. Khan eventually started singing that song in her concerts.
getting old can be depresing i would never judge anyone who has cosmetic surgery. listening to these songs makes you realize how old you are. i'm depress again cuz no matter how young you look your vital organs are still the same age.
this song brings a lot of memories. In 1985 i had just move to ft lauderdale from NY if i'm not mistaking power 96 used to play this jam constantly. i have the cd.
This is when dance music was at it's peak, back in the 80's. This is undoubtly one of those dance tracks that will never grow old. Totally a "kickass" beat like none other from 1985. I have this extended version on a Maxi CD single. Love it, Alisha ROCKS!!
3+ people who disliked were not born on or before 1989 and think the music of the 80s suck.. Well ill tell you this: MUSIC OF TODAY SUCK! LONG LIVE THE CLASSICS!!
I DJ'd at most of the Jersey shore clubs and in Seaside Heights, NJ during the 80's and I'd have to say this song and probabyly Facsinated by Company B were my big guns. Miss those days.
@IFLY7871 Totally agree with you, nothing else came close to the mid 80's dance scene. I was a mobile DJ way back when...I always loved cranking up this tune (great bass) along with "Hooked On You" by Sweet Sensation. Freestyle will always be at the top of my list for putting people on the dance floor. Great decade for music!!
@diomiami I was there in Miami too brother hitting all the clubs on south beach and coconut grove. I bartended at Cats in the mayfair, man I miss those days, Im in that time machine too let me know when its leaving, later bro
This song was in heavy rotation on Miami,Fl new dance music station back in July of 1985,Power 96 fm. Brings back awesome memories being at the beach(would drive from the Midwest each summer) with the boombox.
this blond blue eyes chic 18 y/o with a nockout boby named aurora showed up in my house at 2am by the way the my best friend gildfriend with a cassette with this son in 1986 and we had crazy sex that nite. i will never forget this son. dam i am getting old
This song brings me back in the day when I used to go to this go-go bar (Hot Shots) in North Bergen, NJ. Back in 1987, I was only 17, so I was a minor, but I still got in. The rest of my story is too much information for me to give you all. However, this song brings me back to those days.
I love this song! I bought the rare CD, but I am too lazy to find it so I am just chilling on the Tube. I remember it from the 80s. One of the most catching danceable tunes anywhere. Thanks for posting.
It still makes me want to move my ass on the dancefloor, but I am afraid of falling and breaking my hip. I wish dance music had stayed like this stuff!
Alisha is one of the best singers of the 80's and 90's. She never got the recognition she deserved. She is still arounde singing and performing and always sings live!
a lot of good songs came out in 1985, this song is not in the top 50--try expose, banarama, sweet sensation, cover girls, giggles, pebbles, c-bank. its a great song but there are a lot of songs in front of it incluiding her other song "all night passion"
Nothing, No one, Anything, can compare or ever come close to classic 80s music..NOTHING!....Ive come to depend on my MP3 or just listen to smooth jazz cuz there is nothing but crap on todays radio, CRAP!....
hey i saw her in a staten island club, she was awesome-her voice was just as good as on her records...good times ...80s music is unlike any other time
Wow so nice to hear about all the nostalgia from our time, the 80's. I always feel nostalgic when I watch 80's shows like Miami Vice, Golden Girls etc. It takes me right back as does Alisha. I owned all of her casettes and vinyl extendeds. I LOVED her. Does anyone know where she is todday or what she's doing?
This song eases me when i get depressed about these current times.Makes me slip back into time and the memories of the good old days, esp those cheap price tags !Thank you for the upload.:) peace and love all
1985, Sweetwater, Florida. I was 9 & Mom had bought me one of those cheap-ass Nash skateboards from Toys R Us 'cause she couldn't afford the more expensive ones at International Mall (Attitudes). I would hear this song while skating on my cheap-ass 'board. Also reminds me of failing the Presidential Physical Fitness requirements. What was it? Gold Card, Blue card, & the dreaded red card, meaning I couldn't do a single pull-up???????
I'm 29 now ,but I can relate. I miss these days soooo much. Back then life was fun and you can drive up and down the street with your music blasting with all your friends. Now days you have to watch out for drive bys if you did that now. Such a shame kids these days have no idea about life period. Freestyle lives on 4- ever : )
U might know this song. It's a freestyle song that starts off "Im so good so good for you... I'm so good so good for you" It is sung by a girl who I don't know and it has a very nice heavy beat to it. U seem to know a lot about freestyle maybe you might know the song and artist.
Thanks man. That was exactly what I was looking for. I tried searching for it and couldn't find it. Thanks a lot man, this was always one of my favorites back then.
I have no romantic back in da days story (born in 1982), but it's not necessary, this track is killer anyways. Though it must've been awesome hearing this shit on the radio.
Back in the day I was out at the club dancing with this hot chick when the song we were dancing to ended the DJ says" make some noise for "Alisha" the hot chick turned to me and said thanx for the dance, then jumped up on stage and was singing this song all that time I never knew I was dancing with Alisha damn she was so hott, and great dancer too, luv this song too.
Ah the memories...from Brookly, Bed-Sty...Dekalb and Lafayette...LG - Lafayette Gardens...88th Precint...Pratt Institute...This takes me way back...Love It! Thanks for posting...
This is one of the best dance tracks from 1985, and arguably the entire decade of the 80's, the beat is simply slammin', especially at the break (4:45), if this track doesn't make you move to the groove, nothing will, an 80's dance track classic!!
@playercool1 Damn, Gates and St. Nicholas, that brings back memories, I wasn't even a pre-teen yet, but I remember Buzz doing his thing during the basement battles, and at the old Oasis Roller Rink back then. Freestyle and Uprock was the shit back then throughout all of Brooklyn and Queens....

Great song!! Brings me back to my fun days in the mid 80's, going out all the time and not worrying about a thing! What else do you have? How about "In The Evening"? Remember that one?
Takes me back to the NY club scene in the late 80's. Club 1018 and trying to get in to the "Garage". You would always have fun at the "dance" clubs. No real hostility when you walked across a packed dance floor...people would actually ask you how you were and shit. Not hostile like having to walk with the"mug" on in the hip hop clubs. Good fun, great old days. Word.
LONG OVERDUE!!! That's what I say for this being posted. I'm not shouting at u. I'm just jumping for joy at this being here. You made it happen, and you have my thanks for bringing back this song. Kudos and thanks!
i too wish i could go from 17 to a "kid" =)

Takes me back to the NY club scene in the late 80's. Club 1018 and trying to get in to the "Garage". You would always have fun at the "dance" clubs. No real hostility when you walked across a packed dance floor...people would actually ask you how you were and shit. Not hostile like having to walk with the"mug" on in the hip hop clubs. Good fun, great old days. Word.
